The sun rose up over the horizon flooding through the windows of his room. The lumbering figure sat up and then rolled out of bed. He stood over a basket of clothes and selected a pair of pants and a shirt. He then went downstairs and grabbed his black laptop. Lying on the couch, he pulled up Facebook and logged in.

“Hi,” read a message that popped up on his screen.

“Hey man, how goes it?” he replied.

“Well Shawn Oregon is great. Not as many asses and whores around.”

“Tom you are lucky you got to leave, I’m still stuck here, even for the summer!”

“Ha ha, sucks to be you. Oh and dude you have to see this picture,” Tom replied sending him a link to picture in the next message. Shawn was familiar with the site that held the picture. He clicked on it and in a new tab, a map popped up. It was a little confusing at first glance and then he realized what it was. The map told of the location of a portal and not just any portal, but a portal to Equestria!

“I’ll be in Oregon in the next,” Shawn replied.

“Dude you know that it’s fake? I know how you sometimes get drawn into fantasy and can’t get out sometimes,” Tom pointed out.

“Well if it is then it will at least give me something to do this summer. And if it’s real then that would be awesome!”

“You have more issues than I know of. Fine I will go with you only because I’m bored as hell.”

“Yes! Alright I have to go. Gotta pack and get my money.”

“Ok well then I will c ya ,” Tom said before Shawn logged off. He then went upstairs and got a duffle bag out of the attic. Shoving clothes into it, he packed his stuff. On his way out the door his mom stopped him.

“Where do you think you’re going?” she asked him.

“Well I’m gonna be free this summer and visit a friend in Oregon,” Shawn replied.

“Shawn you can’t just walk out of here and go to another state for vacation.”

“Sure I can, just watch me.” At those words, he walked out of the house and got into his silver car. He plugged his phone into the radio using a certain cord. A big grin spread across his face when he found a song that he loved.

“Three months of winter coolness, and awesome holidays~ We've kept our hoovesies warm at home, time off from work to play~ But the food we've stored is running out, and we can't grow in this cold

And even though I love my boots, this fashion's getting old,” the beloved song began. Shawn listened to it and more songs like it all the way to Oregon.

Shawn drove during the day and slept at motels during the night. Having fast food for every meal made him feel a little sick every now and then but he got over it. By the time he got out of Iowa he had Winter Wrap Up, Pinkie’s singing telegram and Equestria Girls memorized. People always gave him some odd looks when he would hum those songs. One day he was humming one and a man walked up to him.

“Are you humming Winter Wrap Up?” he asked Shawn.

“That depends, are you a brony?” Shawn asked as a reply.

“I don’t know, is the Sonic Rainboom amazing?”

“Hell yeah!” Shawn yelled holding his fist up for a brohoof. The man laughed and gave him a brohoof.

“So where are ya heading?”

“Well I’m off to visit an old friend and somewhat relive childhood.”

“How are you gonna relive childhood?”

“Well my friend found this map that shows the location to a portal to Equestria and we are gonna find it. You know relive childhood by believing in something that doesn’t exist.”

“Ha ha, you are a foolish person and a good jokester. So where are you really heading?”

“I just told you my fellow brony.” As Shawn said those last words, he crawled into his car and drove off. The man just stood there and shook his head.

The week drug on by and before he knew it Shawn was in Oregon.  As soon as he got into Oregon, he called Tom and got directions to his house. Shawn drove up the driveway as darkness drew near. The sun was setting and Tom met Shawn at the door.

“So how was the drive?”  Tom asked waiting for a reason to laugh at Shawn.

“It sucked but at least I finally memorized Winter Wrap Up,” Shawn replied with a chuckle at the end. He dropped his bags and laid down on the couch. Tom walked over to him and just gave him an annoyed look.

“What?” Shawn asked looking at Tom with a smile.

“You sit on your ass the entire drive here and when you get here you sit on your ass,” Tom replied still giving him an annoyed look. Shawn just sighed, stood up, and then began to stretch. Then he sat back down just to see Tom’s reaction. Once again he got that annoyed look on his face. Shawn just chuckled as a reply.

“Well Tom I hope you’re ready to go search for Equestria tomorrow!” Shawn exclaimed standing up. Tom just looked off to the left at the floor.

“Shawn I’ve been thinking about that. I’ve heard that there have been disappearances around there and, well, I enjoy not being missing so I can have sex with my girlfriend,” Tom informed Shawn, crushing his spirit and excitement right there.    “Well  guess I can try to convince her to tag alo-.”

Shawn cut him off, “Hell yeah! Man this is going to be amazing.” Then footsteps were heard coming from upstairs. “Is your dad home?”

“Nope that’s my girlfriend. Her name is Kim.”

“Well then it looks like she is gonna meet one of your strangest friends,” said Shawn turning around to meet Kim. He was met with a slap across the face.

“So you’re the idiot that wants to take Tom away from me,” Kim said looking at Shawn.

“Yeah but don’t worry he is in capable hands and will return home safely.”

“Damn right he will ‘cause he is gonna go to the store and come right back home. Tom isn’t going anywhere tomorrow.”

Tom interjected at that statement, “Whoa, whoa, whoa. You can’t control me like that!” Kim just looked at him and crossed her arms. Tom didn’t back down from his stance and Shawn took Tom’s side.  “I’m going on this trip with my friend.”

“Fine,” she said uncrossing her arms, “but you better know that if you do then we won’t have sex until your friend leaves this state.”

“Alright, I can live with that,” Tom replied. Kim just shook her head and then walked out of the house.

“Man I’m sorry about that,” Shawn apologized.

Tom shook his head and replied, “It’s okay dude, she can be as big a bitch as Rarity sometimes.”

“Alrighty then I guess we should get some sleep ‘cause we got a big day ahead of us tomorrow.”

“Yeah that sounds like a good idea and probably your only one.”

“Hey you are gonna love searching for Equestria tomorrow! It’s going to be amazing!”

“I hope your right,” Tom said throwing a pillow at Shawn and putting a blanket on the couch. Shawn laid down and got comfortable and Tom went upstairs to his room to get some sleep.

The next morning Shawn woke up to see that Tom was sitting in a chair ready to go. He sat up slowly and shook his head to wake up a little quicker.

“Let me shower and then we can head out,” Shawn said standing up off the couch. Tom told him where the shower was and Shawn went upstairs to shower. He got downstairs and Tom tossed him a donut.  “Alright now we can go.” They both walked outside and climbed into Tom’s Chevy Silverado. They began their trip and after driving around for a few hours they eventually got lost.

“Shawn are you looking at the map right?” Tom asked him.

“Yes Thomas I am.”

“Then how are we lost?”

“Maybe you’re just a bad driver.” Tom then pulled over and looked over at Shawn. He took the map from his hands and looked at it for a moment. Then an annoyed look came across his face once more.

“Or maybe you’re holding the map wrong,” said Tom handing the map back to Shawn.

“Oh, umm, oopsies.”

“Ugh, dumb ass,” grumbled Tom. He kept on driving until around 6:12 P.M. when they finally got to their destination. Shawn looked at the map one more time to confirm they were in the right area.

“So it’s in the cave?” asked Shawn with a worried expression on his face. Tom just answered him with a nod and by handing him a flashlight. With a sigh, Shawn followed Tom into the dark tunnel.  They gradually made their way to the back of the rocky tunnel.

“Hey Tom, up ahead. Is that a light I can see?” Shawn asked pointing up ahead towards a light.

“Why yes that does look like a light. Let’s go towards it unless that’s something your religion won’t allow you to do,” Tom joked.

“Ha ha very funny. Hey I bet I can beat you to it!” shouted Shawn as he ran forward to get to it before Tom. They ran down the rocky corridor until the very end. Shawn stopped at a ledge but that didn’t help him any. Tom didn’t stop but ran straight into him knocking them both over the edge. They both fell out and plummeted towards the ground.

“Ah! HOLY SHIT!” yelled Tom as he fell.

“Ah, ha ha ha! HOT DAMN!” screamed Shawn next to him without a smile as he laughed. Then they both made it to the bottom with a splash.
