//-------------------------------------------------------// The fall of Equis IV -by Gordon Freemane- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Escaping the unknown //-------------------------------------------------------// Escaping the unknown As I woke up, I seemed to be in an ork vessel of some kind. The place was painted with their war symbols and blood which was why I was able to tell. I was strapped down to a chair with animal skin bonds. Very bad mistake for them. My gear was on a table just next to me. An even bigger mistake for them. I broke the bonds with relative ease, and walked over to my gear to get ready. I attached my plasma pistol to my waist and held my bolter just in case any orks were right outside the door. Just as I finished armoring up a sound of keys being punched in was heard. I got beside the door and readied my combat knife. The door opened and I plunged the knife through the orks eye, and into it's thick skull. It made no sound as it fell to the ground with blood spurting out of it's right eye. I put away my knife and slung out my bolter once again. I walked out of the room and tried to make out where the ship bay might be to escape. Almost the near second I turned to the right just after the exit, I heard an agonizing scream of pain. I looked to where it came from and saw another blood angel marine in a clear windowed cell with a ork cutting of his ear. I quickly burst in the cell and slammed my bolter into the back of it's head. It fell to the ground, crippled, and I shot it square in the back of the head. The marine started to talk, but was unintelligible from through his helmet. Which was weird considering that helmets were supposed to have crystal clear communications. I took his helmet off and unbound him from metal bonds. I don't know why I had leather bonds, but at least I was able to escape. " "Thank you. I don't know how long I would've lasted with that ork scum torturing me. And for emperor's sake we need to get out of here." "Your welcome, and I have been through many enough battles to know how to handle myself and how to get out of these places." I replied. We walked down the corridors not running into any more orks. odd because there were usually orks every step in their ships. I found a terminal with a map of the ship and scanner. There were no ships but there were escape pods. Scans showed that there was an uncharted planet nearby that the pods could land down on. The problem was is that there are warp attuned beings on the planet. only a fraction, but definitely some. Maybe there were daemons, or chaos marines down there? who knew. "Should we take the chance?" The marine was asking me. "Unless you want to be ripped apart by orks, then yes we should.!" We made our way to the escape pod bay. There were a few orks stationed there, but we took them out with ease and a few bullets to the head. I had to activate one of the pods since the other marine had no experience in that sort of thing. It took a few minutes, and the orks started to notice sending wave after wave of them. It was tough and the marine was injured, but we pulled through. I emptied the last ammunition in my clip to the orks and pulled the marine into the pod with me. Upon further scanning, and testing. I had revealed that the warp attuned beings are multicolored..... PONIES!? //-------------------------------------------------------// planet fall //-------------------------------------------------------// planet fall As the pod burned into the atmosphere, I got my weapons ready just in case the creatures are hostile. The pod crash-landed in the tower of an old sort of castle in a forest. The castle shattered, leaving nothing but the pod smoking in the rubble. No words were exchanged between me and the marine as we traversed toward the planet before we landed. The pod door was jammed so I had to smash it open with my bolter. "Do you think the beings of this planet are going to be hostile Thaddeus?" "Who knows? Why do you think I am getting prepared. You should always be ready for anything and anyone." "Alright then. We had better get going." We started off toward the nearest sign of civilization that the scanner had shown. The forest itself seemed to have a creeping evil similar to that of daemons or chaos. We had the constant feeling we were being watched, and possibly hunted for prey. Occasionally we would catch a kind of greenish tint floating through the forest following us. I didn't know whether or not it was something alive out to kill us, but the marine seemed convinced. I saw that on the map we were nearing the edge of the forest. I was never so excited to get out of any place in my entire life. But then, a large wolf made of wood of some sort pounced on the marine, ripping his left hand off. I quickly shot it off, and yet more and more came. I thought we were doomed, until a faint glow or aura of a kind seemed to surround the wolf. The wolfs disintegrated with no further sound afterward. I wanted to look around for whatever helped me, and to see if they could help the slowly dying and fatally injured marine. I turned around only to be looking at 2 unicorns, and a pony. one blue and white. another black and grey. And the last purple and pink. Vinyl's P.O.V. It was really any old day for vinyl. Making music, hanging around with Octavia, and looking for another club job. Not that her usual one was bad, it was just that she needed a little extra money for Tavi's birth-day coming up. It was until she started hearing loud noises coming from the forest that they lived close to come to be known as the Everfree Forest. She woke Octavia from her normal nap to tell her about the noises. "What is it Vinyl?" she groaned as she woke "Oh nothing, only that there are some crazy noises coming from the forest that you've been sleeping through!" "Oh, what do you think they are?" "I don't know, but they sure don't sound like they want to be friendly to anypony." "Do you think we should get Twilight or any of the other elements?" "Yeah, we need to make sure that it isn't anything that can hurt anypony." "Alright let's go then." We made our way over to the golden oak library that twilight lived in. It was strange those sounds, and we could still hear them practically in the center of town. It seemed like some other ponies were slightly panicking over the sounds, and twilight was already trying to get them to calm down. "Everypony please calm down! I assure you everything will be alright!" she barked at the crowd She was yelling over the crowds of talking ponies, all trying to talk to Twilight at once. Finally she quieted the crowd and waved a hoof at us to come over to her. "Have you two heard the sounds too?" she asked us. "Yeah we have. I think we should do something about it, to you know make sure it is safe, and will not hurt anypony." I replied. "Alright then what are we waiting for. let's go." Twilight ordered us to follow her to the forest. We headed into the forest at top speed to get there and deal with the problem. "Come on girls. I think that we are almost to the source of the noises." Twilight assured. Sure enough a couple few minutes later we saw some light dancing in the woods. There were a lot of timber wolves, and two other strange looking creatures. I quickly used my magic to pick up the timber wolves, and smashed them into pieces. Twilight hastily joined in with her magic and smashed the rest of the timber wolves. It seemed that one of the odd looking creatures were very badly injured, and needed proper medical attention, and quick. The healthy one looked around for a few seconds until it came across us. I sure hope that they are friendly. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Today was any other normal day on the space hulk known as Ordinance IV. I patrolling around the aft of the ship with my bolter and plasma pistol. My bolter was an old mark V with semi-automatic fire, and a x 2.5 optic zoom. The plasma pistol was any old plasma pistol another blood angel would carry around. Walking along my assigned patrol path there was nothing of interest to view. The medical ward currently empty from the lack of battles recently after the tyranid uprising. It had 25 rooms each filled with a least 50 occupancies for other space marines. There was ld blood stains on the walls from when the tyranid battles were going on and being fought. I moved along to the armory that held most of the weapons for the blood angels. It had guns and weapons ranging from melta guns and pistols to heavy bolters to chain-swords to thunder hammers and power swords. The thunder hammers were rarely used unless chaos and daemons were a brew. My route just repeated itself from there. I got a call from the commander, Gabriel Angelos, asking me to him in the helm of the ship. As I walked to the front of the ship. I saw many other marines and scouts cleaning their weapons and joking around with each other. I also saw the commander that lead us into battle and repelled the tyranid from sub-sector Aurelia. It looked as if he was spaced out in his own world. Everyone called him the hymn of the battle. Although I did not understand why, I have come to get used to it. He came over to me and said "Nice work in the field, Thaddeus. I couldn't have asked for a better jump squad than yours!" "And I couldn't have asked for a better commander!" I replied. I came to Gabriel's door, and got ready to knock when I heard faint loud explosions in the distance. I assumed it was a ship malfunction until the ship-wide emergency alarm sounded off. There was another deafening explosion next to me as I fell into unconsciousness.
