"I couldn't agree more," Queen Chrysalis said softly. Chrysalis held out a small pink blanket so Discord could see better. Inside the cozy blanket was their newborn filly. She was a changeling Alicorn, who her parents would soon find that she could use changeling magic with her horn and stomp her left hoof to spread chaos like her father. The tiny Alicorn filly was a dark indigo blue with a patchwork mane and tail and pale, peach, filmy eyes. The princess filly yawned a huge, high pitched yawn, her mouth open as far as it could go. Her young, springy jaw snapped shut, making the little filly cry. The filly cried and cried at the pain in her mouth. "Make her pain stop!" Chrysalis commanded. "I can't take her pain away," Discord said. Chrysalis stroked her little patchwork mane, trying to calm the little filly. Other than Discord, this filly was the first thing that Chrysalis actually felt love for. Once at home from the Ponyville hospital, who only let her stay because she was married to Discord, Chrysalis laid in bed with her new filly, trying to think of names. Shadow, Night, and Patchwork all crossed her mind, but none seemed right. "I've got it! Knightshade!" Chrysalis announced. Discord, in the other room, heard the name and nodded in approval. Chrysalis let Knightshade drink her milk while she read her book. Chrysalis had been feeding Knightshade a lot, though neither of them seemed to notice or care.  Chrysalis found a shredded, old, rag towel laying on the bed. She tossed it over to the side of the bed and Knightshade weakly crawled over to grab it in her mouth. She crawled back to Chrysalis and snuggled with the old towel while drinking her milk. "Peculiar," Chrysalis said, wondering why such a sweet filly would want a rag for security. Chrysalis took the rag and tossed it off the bed, giving Knightshade a big, plush, pink blanket. Knightshade cried and cried, crawling overtop of her mother and to the edge of the bed, trying to get to the rag towel. She looked at the ripped up old thing, trying to get it to come to her, though she didn't have any magic yet. Knightshade, the chubby little filly princess, leaned over the edge of the bed and fell to her rag with a soft plop. Chrysalis gasped and jumped out of bed, going over to Knightshade. Her soft flesh was bruised on her little rump and the side of her cheek. Knightshade cuddled with her rag towel, seeming unfazed by the event, until Chrysalis picked her and her rag towel up and set them on the bed. Once safe on the bed, Chrysalis gently nudged her bruises with a hoof, making Knightshade scream and cry. Knightshade was a very sensitive filly, almost seeming to be hurt by everything. Queen Chrysalis knew this would become a problem when she became ruler over the changelings, knowing they were quite clumsy. She turned out the lights and went to bed, snuggling Knightshade up to the crook in her neck.
