My Life Sucks...
Starting now, my life truly sucks. I mean, it definitely did before, but now I know for a fact it sucks. Today, my rent went up by 100 bucks because I was off by one cent. ONE GODDAMN CENT! It hurts to know my landlord wants every penny I own, and doesn't give a shit about my own needs, including the apartment. I keep it fairly clean myself. On certain days after work, I don't clean everything, but the apartment is kept fairly decent. Clean enough so cockroaches can't make a home here. But the landlord doesn't care, it has to be absolutely perfect, or my rent goes up by another 25 dollars. Oh well... at least my job is paying me enough.

Well, never mind! I got fired! I just can't get a break. It's not fair, as all I did was pick up a box to move across the storage garage, and then a rookie nearly ran me over with the fork-truck! I told him I was carrying the boxes around, and he had acknowledged me, and continued with his work. Not even five minutes later, he nearly crushes me to death, but luckily he knew enough to pull back and check on me. I was fine, except for a small cut on my arm.
After work, my boss fired me for being a "hinderance" to the job at hand. He screamed at me the whole time, and I just let it go. My life is hard enough as it is, I've heard worse yelling than this. I simply nod and leave, not even bothering to say a word, as that is what usually gets me in trouble.
I don't have time to find a job in two hours, so I'll clean up a bit and relax for the day. To be honest, I am a bit lazy, if you haven't noticed already. After four years of constant yelling after college, I just got used to it. My life has been going downhill since college, and by this point, I think I've gone underground. The only thing that can calm me down though, is a certain show.
When I first heard of it, I nearly busted out laughing at how ridiculous it sounded. But still, my curiosity was piqued, and I checked it out. To be completely and totally honest, I was dumbfounded at how funny and yet "for everyone" it was. I mean, its look made seem like it was for little girls, but I had heard of this before, how it was popular worldwide for it's humor and downright adorableness. I loved every second of it, even the certain episodes that did lack some things. I love the show, but I've never mentioned it to anyone, even though I have nothing to lose. I watched My Little Pony for about an hour, then started cleaning. Even with My Little Pony as a relief to my horrible life, I wondered how things were going to get worse by tomorrow.

Realization Into Confusion
Well, I just found out how my life could get worse. My brother died in war sometime last week, apparently. Why wasn't I told before? My brother was the only person in my entire known family that even bothered to call me. My only brother, Derek, was the nicest person I've ever known. He cared for me, knew me, and helped me in any situation he could. He joined the army just last week, fighting in a new war in Australia. I don't know why, as he never told me anything. In any case, I was devastated.
My brother, dead: I nearly dropped the lobby phone when I heard the news. My jaw felt like concrete, my legs wobbled, my pulse turning into the loudest thing in the room, but I managed to stand upright again. I simply said "Thank You" to the caller, and hung up. No other words. I think even the landlord, who was watching me with eyes wide, felt sorry for me. But I didn't care. No one really did, except for my now dead brother.

Here I am, two months later, getting officially kicked out of the apartment onto the streets. No job took me, even through all of the interviews and good things I heard. It was all a hoax. I had nothing left to live for, but I kept on. I would find something. Anything. Anything that would help me through this war with life. Something. Something that would save me. I was given all of my belongings (which weren't that many) in a small cardboard box, barely large enough to hold it all. I turned and left, without a word. I found a small alley, and noticed something in the farthest corner. It shined for just a second, then I heard a chitter and squeak, and it skittered away into the darkness. I didn't think about it for another second. My life was downright over, nothing left for me. I was done.
I felt horrible with my own self-pity, but it wouldn't get me anywhere. I continued to travel, but I was surprised at the amount of people today. Even the alleys were crowded. It was incredible, but the few mugs and thieves took their shots, but I knew somewhat how to defend myself. I was generally okay, until one guy pulled a gun. Fortunately for me, he was stupid enough to not see the cop directly behind him, who grabbed the mugger and carried him away. I continued to walk, running in a few suspicious places, and calming down again once past them.
After a good two hours travel, tired and a bit hungry, I noticed a sign on an alley wall, no one was there, and I investigated. It looked familiar, yet at the same time, unfamiliar. It looked like graffiti, but it seemed to shine a bit, and give off a soft purple glow. "Kind of like Twilight's magic aura...", I thought. No, it couldn't be. It's just a coincidence. Besides, magic isn't real, right? There's no way this is... I got a bit closer to it, and it seemed to glow brighter, getting a lighter shade of purple. The symbol itself defintitely reminded me of Twilight's Cutie Mark, but it seemed faded. Probably just the rain washing it away. I closed the distance between me and the symbol, and stroked the wall. At that moment, all I saw was pure darkness, and I passed out.
Chapter 3
A World You Know
I woke up with a supressed groan, and sat up. What I saw staring at me was a pair of purple eyes staring at me in wonder. My vision was blurry, but I could see the captivated look in the eyes. "Hmmm.." I said, "This is interesting". I hear a loud gasp from all around.
"H-He's alright!"
That voice... "No..." I thought. This can't be... How is it possible? I've apparently been teleported to Equestria! But, they don't know who I am, yet I know who they are... Twilight might have teleported me here, but she doesn't have massive power without the Elements of Harmony, unless... I look around me, and I was right. Even with my fuzzy vision, I could see that the Elements are all here. Magic, Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, and Loyalty.
"I have never seen anyone survive that kind of fall. I'm so glad he's okay."
"Me too, Fluttershy, but it might be a while before he recovers completely. To be honest, I'm surprised the spell worked at all, although, we were looking for a human, but I guess at least knowing I can do this helps."
Wait, what? But, I am a human. Unless... "Hey! Don't I get a say in this? I am the one we're talking about anyway." A slightly confused expression befell Twilight, but only for a brief moment. She laughed and continued to write in her book. She did reply though.
"Of course. The only reason why you're still here now is because of your injuries. What I was trying to do was bring a human here for any battle strategies we could get. But that is still going to take a lot of work. We have needed to be prepared for anything since the incident..."
She paused, then brought a hoof to her eye, to seemingly wipe away a tear. I could hear sniffles from all around, and immediately a stifled cry from Fluttershy.
Battle strategies? What for? Anyway... I instantly realized that something had happened, and proceeded to stop Twilight from discussing further. "You don't need to explain further. I can see the subject is difficult."
"Hmm... Th-thank you. Anyway, back t-to what we were discussing. Your opinion, then."
"Yes, I say you can keep me here in the library, but I want to be able to get around sometimes."
"I understand, and I accept."

My life became very different than Earth, I actually had a home, and a good life. Living in Twilight's library was kinda fun, actually. I met Spike, who helped me get around a bit. He was a bit wary at first, as I was completely knew. He told me that I was out for a good three days. "How did I get here?"
"Twilight was testing a summon spell. She was trying to get a human, as one of the only things we know of them is their war tactics. Lots of stuff has been going on, and recently..."
He stopped, and sniffled. He seemed distraught, and for te same reason as the girls were upset. Again, the thing with "war"? This was never mentioned at all during the cartoon. Then again, what was everyone sad about? Did some horrible tragedy happen in this peaceful world? I decided I would find out later. "So, Spike. Since I am new here, would you mind showing me around?"
"Sure, uhhhh..."
"Blueblaze."
"Alright, sure Blueblaze."
We walked around Ponyville, with Spike showing me the sights and sounds of the familiar town. I loved every minute, and we stopped at Sugarcube Corner for lunch. It was beautiful, with shelves filled with dozens of cakes, brownies, cookies and the like. It made my mouth water just looking at it. I noticed Mrs. Cake behind the desk talking to customers, and I could hear Mr. Cake in the back room, making more of the famous desserts served here. Later on, we stopped at Sweet Apple Acres, and I talked to Granny Smith, but she rambled on for a while, talking about this year's harvesting plans. She went on and on, but eventually fell asleep. We silently tip-toed out, hoping to not wake her up again. We didn't go to Fluttershy's cottage, as I was hoping, but instead we circled back to the library and went inside. My injuries were taking affect again, and I sat down. Twilight was there, rummaging through the what seemed infinite amount of books in the library.
