Radiant Light stepped out of his golden bed, which was a gift from the Dragon Emperor for saving the entire dragon race. As he opened his eyes, Evening Glim found himself inside some weird tube, surrounded by some liquid. Still slowly regaining conscious thought, he realized that he was wearing a mask, which allowed him to breath. He now began to notice the flashing red light and what sounded like an alarm outside of the tube.

“Where am I?” he asking himself. He now leaned forward to press against the glass in front of him, but it didn’t open. As he realized that he was trapped in the tube, he started to panic, rapidly hammering against the glass in front of him, which began to slightly crack. Suddenly the glass moved away from him and the door opened and a mechanical voice saying “Emergency Testing Tube protocol”.

Evening Glim flung himself out of his tube and ripped the mask off his face. He could feel the air run into his lungs, as he took what he thought was the first deep breath in a long time. He stood up and looked around him. Around him were other tubes as well, some filled with a pony, some empty. It looked like a research facility for something. The red flashing light and the alarm were still going on.

“What if it had something to do with me? Where was I even? How did I get into this research lab in the first place?” Questions started to pop into his head, as he slowly felt to regain even more of his thought process.

He started to clumsily run down the hallway between the tubes in a random direction in hope of finding some answers. As he ran and ran, he finally came to a door and tried to open it. To his surprise, it swung open easily, but behind it stood two unicorns in research coats, along with several guards, and one said: “Well, Subject 25374, you gave us quite the fright back there. Let’s go back to sleep, shall we?” and Evening Glim was stung with a syringe by one of the guards standing next to him. The scientist turned away to his assistant and said “Double his dose, just to be safe,” and everything was black again.

Radiant Light was in the middle of orgasming inside of Rainbow Dash. “Not the first time?” Radiant whispered deep in thought. As he dove deeper into his thoughts, he suddenly felt the world shaking. As he looked up, he saw his window cracking and as it broke, water rushed towards him, taking him under and he blacked out.

Evening Glim gasped as he woke up for the second time in this facility. This time he wasn’t under water. It seemed he must have broken the window in his sleep. He had to get out quickly. Those researchers would notice this quickly and he would be caught again.

He quickly got out of the tube and ran this time down the other way. As he passed the other tubes, he glanced in them. Again, some were empty and some filled with ponies, but there also were other creatures. Evening Glim didn’t have time to think about that. He had to get out.

As he ran down the hallway, he could hear the voices of the researchers from when he woke up for the first time in the direction he was running from. “Great, Subject 25374 has developed a resistance to the drug. This is going to be problematic, but at the same time highly interesting. Anyway, Guards, bring him back alive. We’ll prepare a new tube for him in the meantime.”

Evening Glim now tried to run faster. He was afraid of going back into the tube. He could finally see a door at the end of the corridor. He ran towards it, but unlike the previous one, this one didn’t open. Evening Glim started to panic. He looked to his left and right, but there was nothing but endless lines of tubes. He had nowhere to run. He turned around, just to see that the guards were catching up to him. There was nothing that he could do, so he let himself drop to the floor. The guards walked next to him, grabbed him by the shoulder and dragged him back to where Evening Glim started. He didn’t even put up a fight. He already gave up hope of escaping.

After the scientist noticed Evening Glim being dragged back, he walked over to him and said “Really, Subject 25374, you are giving us quite some trouble now. First you wake up two times during this important experiment and now you break your tube. Do you know how expensive these are? Why am I even talking to you? You clearly have no idea what is even going on here. Just put him in the new tube and give him five times the dose.”

The guards shoved him back into the tube and the assistant came and gave him injection and everything went to black again.

Radiant Light entered the room of his former enemies… ‘Wait, you aren’t Radiant Light.’ the Narrator suddenly stopped confused.

“Well I am Evening Glim, the actual pony,” Evening Glim told the Narrator.

‘Wait so this really isn’t real?’ the Narrator continued to ask confused.

“No, it’s some drug induced dreamstate, I think. I don’t know how it works, but it seems to have less and less effect on me,” Evening Glim said a little unsure.

‘So you think you know what is going on, but you also aren’t sure…’ the Narrator said. 'Are you sure that this isn't just a dream, Radiant Light? It isn't the first time you dreamed and became another pony.'

"WHAT!" Evening Glim shouted annoyed. "This isn't a dream. I am the real one. Your Radiant Light is nothing more than a figment of my mind. That makes you one too. Now help me get out of here!"

'Fine fine, be it your way, Radiant Light. Just think of this not being real. That should get you out.' the Narrator suggested.

Evening Glim overheard the last comment of the ghostly narrator his "alter-ego" had. He even thought it was creepy that something said everything somepony did out loud. He ignored this thought and the Narrator and closed his eyes, beginning to concentrate, thinking of this "world" not being real and being back in the laboratory, the real world.

Evening Glim opened his eyes and found himself in the pod again. He repeated the cycle he already did two times. He opened the pod, took some deep breaths and looked around again. His pod had a crack in its window.

“Strange, wasn't I put into a new pod” he thought, but he dismissed it quickly. Such a minor detail was unimportant. What was important was finding a way out. He headed towards the door he went the first time, in hope for nopony being there. He began to ran.

After a short time he reached the door and tried to open it. It opened like the first, but now there weren't any guards. He slowly headed inside and found the observation room inside. He glanced shortly over everything, but quickly headed for the next door. It opened again.

This time he entered a hallway and quickly found a sign, which showed the direction to the emergency exit. He ran towards it and rushed through the wooden door. It easily gave in and Evening Glim stood in a dark room. He was confused.

Evening Glim started to look for a light switch, as he heard a voice speak to him from the dark. "Hello, Evening Glim. How nice to see you again."

"Oh now I am called by my name. What an honor to be called by my name from the great scientist What's-its-face and not some subject with a number," Evening Glim shouted in the direction of the voice.

"You might have me confused with somepony, Evening Glim. I am not your captors." it said and stepped out of the dark. Before Evening Glim stood the alicorn from his "dream", Radiant Light.

"How can you be here? HOW CAN YOU BE REAL?" Evening Glim shouted.

"Oh it isn't me who isn't real. It's you, Evening Glim. Now go to sleep and wake up again." Radiant Light said, just before he knocked Evening Glim out.

Evening Glim woke up in his apartment in Canterlot. He thought about his weird dream about a laboratory and some weird alicorn prince, but he was unsure about the details.. He got himself ready to leave for work as the royal practitioner for his Highness Radiant Light. As he left his apartment, he said to himself: “It was only a dream,” and went on with his regular and happy life.

Splicing Gen, the leading researcher on Project Exodus, was walking down the pod hall. His assistant informed him, that Subject 25374 had shown a reaction on the monitor. 'What a troublesome subject,' Splicing Gen thought annoyed. 'Breaking out of his pod two times and even broke one. What is with him now?'

He headed over to the Subject's 25374 new pod and was surprised to see the alicorn inside it. "THE SERUM IS A SUCCESS!" Splicing Gen screamed from joy. He quickly headed over to the monitor on the pod, observing the vital functions of the subject. Everything was normal. He switched to the brain activity and his joy vanished. The result showed that Subject 25374 was in an irreversible comatosed state. "Well Subject 25374, you might have been trouble, but you at least showed the Project Exodus is successful. Just some minor tweaks to the serum and it's ready for production," Splicing Gen said and headed towards the observation room. As he passed a guard, he said: "Clear out Subject 25374. He has no more value for our research," and opened the door to the observation room to work on the serum.
