The rainbow Of Light

Chapter 1

Cadence sat alone in a great big hall covered in all sorts of different coloured crystals, all fitting perfectly into the wall. Reflecting light coming from all the tall arched windows, in the middle a wide red carpet led from the door to the throne at the end. The throne being made of clear crystals and light pink gems, there sat princess Cadence. Levitating a quill and parchment writing paperwork, Her multicoloured main resting behind her back and gold tiara resting on top. Soon she was interrupted by three of her royal guards entering, two white with the one in the middle being brown all wearing gold armour. "Princess Cadence we have interesting news! We have seemed to have found a very a strange object" the brown royal guard shouted, bowing down on the red carpet in front of the royal throne. Cadence was intrigued with having almost been ruling the Crystal Empire for a year now she never did anything interesting mostly open important buildings, tax`s and paperwork.

"What is it?"

"see for yourself" the guard on the left  said levitating a small old wooden box to the princess, upon opening the box it contains what seems to be a Red heart shaped locket. Looking like you could open it Cadence went to try to open the locket to see whats inside but was stopped by the guards" I wouldn't try to open it your highness, when we have tried but it seems to have been enchanted by some very powerful magic.We cant seem to open it at all". "I found it while on my night shift, when descending down a corridor I noticed a tile that was ajar. when lifting it up I found that box"

"I see, for the time being I will keep it in my possession and will alert Celestia and Luna. You may go now" and with that the guards left slamming the door,leaving Cadence all alone. She then placed it back into the little box.

"Stop fighting you two!" shouted Chrysalis at two changelings fighting each other, ever since the Canterlot invasion all her changelings were dying of the lack of love in there system. It hurt her so much to see them die. It was all her fault. The invasion was the last resort, her people were becoming ill, she panicked at decided to invade canterlot. If it was successful her people would be healthy and she would save her race but it was a failure and now everybody was dying.

Its all that stupid pink alicorn`s fault, if she didn't escape everything would have worked thought Chrysalis. Just then a changeling drown came in and bowed itself in front of Chrysalis.

"m-My queen" it spoke

"Yes drone #127 what is it?"

"t-they found the locket" drone #127 spoke quietly

"WHAT! where? Tell me now!"Chrysalis shouted

" well some pony`s have found the item in the c-crystal empire"

Chrysalis knew very well that Princess Cadence was now the ruler of the empire. If she was ever going to get in and take the locket she would have to go herself, most of her changelings were ever dead or too weak to do anything.

"I`ll I have to go and obtain the locket myself"

"n-no my queen if you go who will tend to the hive?"

"Im sorry but everybody else is too weak, if I dont go I don't know what would happen. You will have to tend to the hive yourself. Can you do that for me?" Chrysalis stated.

" But we will all end up killing each other, it`s best if you stay here. You have to!"

" But don`t you see the sooner I go the sooner you can get to be what you used to be..... b-before Him" she said in a unusually soft gentle voice fading in to a soft whisper at the end, that wasn't like her.

"I see, I will g-go and tell the rest of the hive" drone #127 siad as it left.

Chrysalis was now wondering on how she would get into the castle. Guards would probably patrol 24/7. Chrysalis was now very deep in thought."I think I will have to disguise as a pony and get a job in the castle that would allow me to be close to the locket and then...... After a while she had already thought out her plan, Chrysalis would disguise as a light Gray crystal pony with violet hair tightly in a bun and her tail full of curls. Complete with a feather duster cutie mark, this pony`s name would be Violet Feather, Chrysalis would then try to get a job as a maid. It was a perfect plan! Her people would be free in no time!

But what is she was caught? Nopony would listen to her, Chrysalis invaded Canterlot, made lot of enemies and probably killed a couple of pony`s doing it. They would keep her locked up in a dungeon and slowly but slowly starve her to death or beat her or or..... the list of horrific things they could do to her could go on forever but she had already made up her mind, Chrysalis would be going.

As the sun set upon the wastelands Chrysalis was making sure everyling had a role to help keeping the hive in good condition while she was gone. Some drones would take upon extra responsibilities to help fill her in like making plans and keeping every drone in order. Hopefully nothing would go wrong while I'm gone right? Chrysalis thought descending into her bed chamber. Her bedroom was decorated in vines and flowers, that stood out from the hard black walls covered in holes. It helped remind her of more happier times. Right now tomorrow could wait, all Chrysalis just wanted was to go to bed. When the changeling had hardly entered her room ,she threw the sheets over her self and went to sleep almost instantly. Then she  began to snore quietly as Luna`s moon hung over the waste lands with thousands of twinkling stars that glowed like sparks of tasty love. Yes tomorrow could wait.
