An Apple to Remember
Apple Bloom sat in the clubhouse with all three crusaders. It was a sunny morning after the concert. It didn't seem like the right setting for her. Maybe the right setting for Sweetie Belle but not her blank flank. Her eyes wavered from her blank flank to Scootaloo's blank flank and then to Sweetie Belle's new cutie mark.
"Ah' believe a promise should go about us three fillies," Apple Bloom finally said.
"Really? Why?" Scootaloo asked confused.
Apple Bloom sighs at the two confused fillies, "Ah'm worried," Apple Bloom says. "I just feel like with the new cutie mark and all we will separate. No longer being the cutie mark crusaders."
"Oh Apple Bloom. Don't be silly," Sweetie Belle responds cheerfully. "I won't leave you guys. Just because I have a cutie mark doesn't mean we can't be friends."
"Ah' know. It was silly," Apple Bloom said.
"I think we still should promise though," Scootaloo said. "Just to make sure."
"Alright, alright. We'll promise," Sweetie Belle said smiling.
So they began there promise:
"I promise from this tiny house were we're gathered in on this morning to never separate no matter the cause. Cutie mark or no cutie mark we are friends and forever will be. We will help each other no matter the length we try. Giving up is just not right. Every pony has a talent. No one is left without it. So upon us three we will swear to never separate no matter what."
They finished smiling, feeling great security with this promise.

After Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle left, Apple Bloom sat in the club house in worry. Its not the promise that racked her, she knew her friends would never leave her over a stupid cutie mark, it was the thought of not having a cutie mark related to her family. She'd known for a long time that her cutie mark was to do with art. She still didn't want to believe it. She didn't hate art she actually loathed the fact of picking up a brush and painting to her hearts contempt. The day she did art it was amazing! But when she looked at it and found that it had nothing to do with apples she dropped the brush, hid the painting, and never picked art back up in fear of getting a cutie mark that's not honorable to the family. Apples to her had nothing to do with art and this thought ached her every waking hour.
How am I going to get my cutie mark? I know it has something to do with art but what about apples? She thought sadly.
But what worried her more than ever is the thought that, because of her worry about not getting an apple cutie mark, she may never get her cutie mark. That was even more terrorizing than the thought of not having an apple cutie mark. Apple Bloom felt that no true Apple wouldn't have something to do with apples. This thought kept her back from trying for her art cutie mark.
As long as no one watches me do art I may not get my cutie mark in art. I'll try in all apple related things. I am an apple after all so there must be something I'll succeed at apple related. She thought. But what if I'm not a true Apple?
Apple Bloom shivered at the thought.
"Enough!" she finally yelled in exasperation. "Thinking this way will never help me!"
Noticing her volume in the yell Apple Bloom slowly crept out in fear of her sister coming along and asking her what was wrong. Hopefully her sister was in the eastern part of the field this morning. So Apple Bloom walked towards the town hoping to get her mind off this.

Apple Bloom walked through the town trying and failing to get her cutie mark off of her mind. She knew she’d get it but of course child-like stress, usually untrue and ridiculous, made its way into her mind. Every time she got her mind off of cutie marks she would see some art shop or a pony with an art cutie mark, ironically. It seemed like all of her world was made up of art. As she walked on her mind leading her in a stressful path she noticed a particularly familiar curly haired white filly walking in a huge gown with prints of music notes all around it. It was designed intricately in the most spectacular green. It shined near the sheer sleeves and had many flowery green and white roses here and there. Apple Bloom recognizing this filly as Sweetie Belle, decided to follow her.
They passed through many alley ways, the obstacles Sweetie went over to get to her mysterious destination was not the estimated situation the dress' creator would have made it to endure.
Where the hay is she going? Apple Bloom suspiciously wondered. Maybe another nice party with her sister being Rarity and all it would make since.
Apple Bloom continued her long journey until she got to a road. Not just any road, no this was a dreadful road. The only road a CMC member would avoid at all cost! So of course, as all stories go, Sweetie Belle turned directly down this per say horrid road. What road was this? This was none other than Diamond Tiara’s road to her pure white with marble columns and tarnished tables, dressers, and anything to be tarnished mansion. Apple Bloom stopped a little ways from the mansion’s intricate marbled with pine wood door and hid in a nearby bush.
As a Sweetie Belle rang the golden door bell a unforgettably raging orange Pegasus filly came stomping down the road.
She crept to the door without Sweetie knowing and when Diamond opened the door to greet Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo menacingly said, “Hi.”

Previously
Scootaloo walked slowly through the gloomy town not knowing what to do. Usually she’d turn to her friends but Apple Bloom seemed fairly odd that day so she decided Sweetie Belle. As she walked to the Carousel Boutique she noticed Apple Bloom walking deep in thought. Scootaloo waved yet Bloom didn't respond and just walked distantly about the town.
Man when Bloom gets stressed she is very strange. She thought.
Taking her mind off of the distressed filly she continued walking to Sweetie’s popular shop-home. As she walked further on she began to pick out the stores twirly-top roof. This caused her to quicken her pace. When she finally got to the doorbell she rang it with great force.
A white unicorn answered.
“Scootaloo, hi! Are you looking for Sweetie Belle?” Rarity asked as the orange filly nodded her head in response. “I’m sorry you just missed her.”
“Oh really?” Scootaloo asked disappointedly.
“She’s at a tea party with Diamond; you know that sweet filly at your school?” Rarity answered.
At this, Scootaloo’s eye twitched as her muzzle scrunched into an obscured look of anger. Rarity looked at her with confusion. As Scootaloo saw this she tried to hide her anger but the twitching remained.
Scootaloo simply said, “Well then I wander if they would mind if I join them?”
At this Scootaloo left rage flaring through her fragile body, causing her to shake. When she finally arrived behind an unsuspecting Sweetie Belle she waited as Diamond slowly opened the large door. “Hi.” Was all she said.

Apple Bloom walked to the mansion’s door after them to join. She knew this wouldn't go up well and needed to be there to straighten it all out. So she as well rang the doorbell. Inside she heard an agitated Diamond Tiara say semi-sweetly, “Now who must that be?”
“Apple Bloom,” Diamond said sighed, “Of course. Come in.”
“Thank you.”
“I didn't expect so many people so we may be short on some things,” Diamond said. She rushed into the kitchen rummaging around hoping to make it sound like there wasn't much food. Of course she failed.
“Wow! It sounded like you had a lot,” Scootaloo said behind Diamond making her jump. “But not this much! I’ll have a pack of those cookies.”
“Fatty,” Diamond mumbled.
“Excuse me?” Scootaloo said snarling.
“Of course!” Diamond said fake smiling.
Scootaloo smiled satisfyingly. Now Apple Bloom understood. Scootaloo was trying to wreck this tea party.
“Scootaloo, how ‘bout you take a seat with me and Belle,” Apple Bloom advised. Scootaloo walked over rolling her eyes, obviously her anger was still there. Diamond looked over at Apple Bloom with a small and fast glimmer of great fullness, yet it disappeared after a second.
“Now then me and Sweetie Belle usually-RING!
“Ugh! This isn't an open house! Why is everyone here!” Diamond screamed agitated.

On the other side of the door…
“Well that doesn't sound good,” a rainbow-maned Pegasus said.
Diamond opened the door to find Rainbow Dash. Knowing about the recent adoption of Scootaloo, Diamond sighed relieved. Rainbow will take her off her hands and they will leave. Scootaloo popped her head around to see her parent/sister.
“Rainbow! Want to join our tea party?” Scootaloo said.
“Sure!” Rainbow said catching on to the scheme.
“Ugh!” Diamond, not able to stand it anymore collapsed to the ground.
“Wow squirt you ruffled her mane pretty good,” Rainbow said.
“He he,” Scootaloo said smiling awkwardly.
“I think we should be heading home squirt,” Rainbow said. “Diamond seems annoyed enough.”
“okay,” Scootaloo said smiling innocently.

A little bit after the party…
“You what!?” an angry Apple Jack yelled.
“Jack Scootaloo was way worse than me,” Apple Bloom said. “I just pleasantly talked.”
“Ah’ wander what Rainbow is doing bout’ that,” Jack mumbled. “Ah’ want you to do something that would be a good apologetic gift.”
“Like what?” Apple Bloom asked.
“You know what,” Apple Jack said smiling and handing her an old brush. “Sis, I've heard bout’ how you've been worried that without an apple cutie mark you won’t be an Apple. Listen Bloom you are my sister and no one can change that. I don’t care what your talent is and not having an apple related talent shouldn't get you all rustled up.”
“It’s who you are and that’s what shines brightest bout’ you. You being you makes everyone smile. Don’t let any phony over thinkin’ stop you from succeedin’.”
Apple Bloom smiled,” You really think that?”
“Yes, sis, ah’ do,” Apple Jack said.
Apple Bloom rushed to her room and pulled out a hidden canvas. She stoked the many creases in the art piece with her fine colors and brush. She did this for an hour just stroking this white canvas with colors.
Then she stopped. The master piece was finished. Excitedly smiling she rushed out the door with the still wet painting over her head. She tried to place it on her head where the wind rushing around her could dry it quicker.
People smiled as they saw Bloom’s happy face. She didn't stop to say hi she just ran towards Diamond’s house.
When she arrived she knocked on the door. As she waited all of the anxiety kicked in. What would she say and think? Will she hate it? Her thoughts were pushed aside by a lavender filly opening the door.
“Apple Bloom,” Diamond said disappointingly. “What do you- what’s that?”
She caught glimpse of the art piece.
“ah’ felt sorry for just barging in so ah’ created this here apology gift,” Apple Bloom said sweetly.
“Apology gift?” Diamond said confused. As she looked at the painting she knew that it was taken into much effort to make. A hill had a lonely silhouette of an apple tree. This made Diamond smile. She felt like that tree. Her daddy was always so busy and she never actually talked to him much. It hurt her and she felt that being mean would make her feel better. Yet it didn't.
“Thank you,” Diamond said, “Thank you so much!”
Suddenly, Diamond embraced Apple Bloom happily smiling. Apple Bloom was surprised but still returned the hug.
“I’m sorry I’m so mean to you guys. I guess I forgot that there could be ponies that are very kind,” Diamond said ashamed, “I’m not one of those kind ponies, though.”
“You could be,” Apple Bloom said smiling. “Do you want to be my friend?”
“Sure!” Diamond said. Suddenly a flash appeared. It was brighter than star light and stuck both of their faces blinding them for a few seconds.
When their eyes cleared all Diamond could see was an intricately designed rainbow apple with a paint brush painting that gorgeous apple.
“Apple Bloom! Your cutie marks amazing!” Diamond said smiling.
“Mah’ cutie mar-“ Apple Bloom said looking at her flank. “Mah’ Cutie mark! I got a cutie mark!”
Apple Bloom couldn't stop smiling. It was so amazing and she couldn't believe she finally reached this point in her life. It just made her smile.
