Return of the Night
Chapter 4: Getting a Bit Tired
Previous Chapter“Bleh” Rainbow Dash stated, once again, although louder once they had made it to Canterlot. In case you can't tell, she doesn't particularly like these kind of places. The darkness made it bearable though. She couldn't see past Twilight's barrier of light. “Well, at least the darkness makes it better. Hey Twi, why don't we get your special goggles?”
“Because you aren't the ones leading or casting the spell.” Twilight replied bluntly.
“Well Twi, that's pretty rude.” Rainbow Dash replied.
“Also, this is my only pair.” Twilight added.
“Well, that makes more sense.” Rainbow Dash said after thinking about it.
"And that's why I'm in the lead. I think about the things I say and do." Twilight finished with the smallest note of annoyance.
"That just ain't right, sugarcube. That sounded like an insult." Applejack defended.
"Well... ummm... oh look! The thing at the place were we get the element!" Twilight quickly thought and said. She hadn't even thought, but before that thought they really were there. Her friends were none the wiser.
"Uh, Twi, you sure about that? Because I don't see it..." Rainbow Dash stated.
"That's because my light range doesn't go far enough." Twilight stated. She really had no idea where it was. "Yep, there it is! I see it straight ahead!" And there it was.
Twilight's hooves came to a screeching halt as before her was Canterlot Castle. She gazed at it with awe as Rainbow softly landed next to Twilight. Tilting her head Rainbow frowned "So... this is what we needed?" Rainbow asked thinking it wasn't.
"Of course it is! But there has to be some kind of trick to get in, because Nightmare Moon has most likely trapped and taken over the whole thing." With that she started to walk around the castle, sharp eyes examining it leaving her friends to look at Twilight as she left her friends partially in the dark. She stopped, bumping into her friends as she had walked around the entire castle.
"Well, can we get a move on!?" Dash's irritated voice filled the darkness as she flicked her tail.
"If we get too hasty, it could set something off, so I'm with Twilight on this one. Slow, steady, and thoughtful." Rarity said.
