The Heat Keeps Me Going

  The yellow pegasus was at a slow trot, carefully watering flowers as she passed by. She had finally come out of her winter home, an underground super-heated shelter. Because she hated the cold, the young mare stayed there most of her life, at least until the summer heat arrived. To most ponies, it was absolutely BOILING out in the open sunshine. But it simply felt warm to her. "Bright Shine, do you mind coming over here for a while?" A familiar voice called. It was her sister, Frost Cloud. She was practically the opposite of Bright Shine, and was partially hidden in her own shelter, where she stayed for the summer and spring. Bright Shine flew over, and looked at her grey-coated sister. Her eyes looked weary, as if she had stayed up the whole night. "What's up?" Frost Fur looked down. "I think I might be sick."

Both sisters sat down in their "bi-tempurature" room, where both of them could dwell without feeling uncomfortable. Bright Shine looked at the unicorn, a serious expression on her face. "Have you been staying up late? Or did the snow not help?" Frost Fur had invented snow (non-magically) that could never melt, and stayed ice cold throughout the seasons. The grey pony frowned. "I think the heat is more scorching than all other summers. Haven't you noticed?" Her face looked pale, and Frost Fur's legs were wobbling. "I can barely stand up," she said, as Frost Fur plopped down onto a blanket of snow. Bright Shine was worried, and helped her stand on her hooves again. "Stay here, I'll get Nurse Redheart."

Bright Shine flew at full speed to the hospital, and tapped on the bell so hard it nearly broke. Annoyed, Nurse Redheart said, "How may I help you?" only to be cut off by Bright Shine. "Mysister'sreallysickandIneedyourhelpshecanbarelystandup!" The white mare put her hoof up to Bright Shine's mouth. "I will go help. But you have to stay outside the shelter. Seasonal ponies can't be together during this type of check-up." Though Bright Shine was confused about this, she led Nurse Redheart to Frost Fur. Then was ushered outside. I hope she'll be alright...

Combing her puffy hair, she took a look outside. It'd be nice to take another trot. As she stepped outside, something hit her on the head, and all went black.
