What's Going On Here!?

Rachel was hugging Lance, who kept trying very desperately to shove the insane little girl off. Suddenly, all froze stiff as the sounds of gunshots echoed from outside.

More gunshots soon echoed.

Lance's eyes went wide. Lazarus looked around the room because the echoes sounded far off, and yet so close.

"I hope we don't have to take cover." Apple Leaf commented.

At once, everyone that was currently alive nodded. Well, everyone save Rachel, who was now on Apple Leaf's back complete with a saddle shouting "Giddy up horsey!"

Apple Leaf groaned and flattened his ears in annoyance. "Ya are worse than I thought. A lot worse." He said, sternly.

"Am not!" Rachel complained.

"Then why do you keep glass shards in your privates? Why'd you kill that stallion?? Hell, why'd you want me to play with you when it was very clear that I had no intention of sticking my little friend in there???" Lancelot pointed out, his hand already having connected with his face.

"He's very much right," Lazarus agreed as he approached the insane girl with a very reasonable amount of cation, "What's he is trying to say is that.....your mind has been corrupted by the.....um....whoever was supposed to take care of you before this place became run-down," he added as he got up to Rachel's face.

"Can I ask a question?" Apple Leaf asked, a frown visible on his face.

"You already are. Continue." Lance retorted, the corners of his lips beginning to twitch upwards.

Apple sighed, giving Lance the stink-eye. "Insane girl, do ya know who your parents are?" He asked.

"My dad was a military man of some black president. He and mom never got along, and he was strangled." Rachel answered.

"Tell us about your mommy..." Lazarus sighed, crossing his arms and tapping his fingers.

More gunshots rang out.

"Dad said they were married, but mom said she'd burned those documents. I saw her burn dad without using a lighter after she killed him. The fire kinda formed in her hands, and I saw wings." Rachel answered again, having waited for the gunshots to shut up.

Lance was suddenly wide-eyed and his jaw was practically on the floor. "D-Did she have blue eyes and dark red hair?! A fox tail?!" He asked frantically.

Rachel slowly nodded. She pulled something from her hair....a small earring in the shape of a brown wooden bow, complete with small leaves.

Apple Leaf saw this earring and took it from the girl. Lazarus picked her up and Apple tore through the ceiling whilst creating a fearsome tornado. As he ascended, the tornado seemed to lift with him. Next thing everyone knew was that he took off to the direction of Ponyville quick as a whip.

Lazarus put a hand on Lance's and then patted. "We found a sibling....wonder how many more there are." Said the Godling with a smile that pretty much mocked the poor Nazi.

Lance slowly turned his scornful glare to Lazarus and simply said "Shut the fuck up." Lazarus laughed heartily but soon silenced himself because more gunshots rang out.

Rachel squirmed out of Lancelot's grip and ran to the half-pony man with arms flung wide. A hug to his waist soon followed. "Big brother, why were we separated?" She asked.

"We have different fathers....why wouldn't we be?" Lance quickly countered, his wings spreading wide.

Rachel's smile grew wider. "OK." Was all she said.

"Wait till Mom hears....she'll flip." Lazarus sneered with another smile.

"And not in the good way." Lance said, sternly. His eyes had narrowed and his ears twitched.

Gunshots sounded once more. This time, they were louder and sounded as though they hit something.

Lance picked his sister up and was the first to bolt out the double doors. The other two stooges followed him.

Soon, they were outside the ruined asylum. They saw military men with AK-47s firing at a plane with two pilots that were firing back with machine guns. More gunshots rang out as a military tank raised its barrel and opened fire. A wing of the plane was shot clean off and the damn thing was still flying!

"Who the hell is crazy enough to drive that thing?!" Lance asked in sheer disbelief. His jaw dropped again.

The plane swerved out of harm's way, but because it had one wing left, it soon crashed into the opposite side of town. A thick cloud of smoke rose from the site of the crash.

"Not good." Lance sighed, his ears flat.

Lazarus grabbed both men and hastily led them to a nearby alleyway. Rachel was on Lance's backside now in piggyback formation.

"How the hell are we gonna get over there?" Lancelot asked, a look of worry on his face.

Lance loaded bullets into his gunblade once more. "We fight our way through. And since we don't know where exactly the crash site is, we split up." He answered as more gunshots rang out. Now, the poor Nazi was covering his ears because pony ears heard better than those of humans.

"Let's not split up. They have tanks." Lazarus replied sternly. His face darkened.

More gunshots rang out. This time, the soldiers were shouting "shoot that pegasus and that weird thing on his back!" very close by. Lance saw that one by one--or in a rare case, three by three--the soldiers were felled. Not with bullets, but with arrows of wood. The soldiers kept shouting as some died instantaneously due to the arrows piercing vital organs and others wailed about becoming weaker once the arrows hit them in the arm. Others still kept demanding that the mysterious attacker be gunned down.

More arrows, this time thousands of them, hailed from the sky as though a hundred Mongolian archers fired them simultaneously and rapidly approached the earth and the idiotic soldiers standing on it. One particular arrow with a white band on it missed Lance's right ear by mere inches. He dislodged the arrow from the wall and found it had a scroll attached to it, so he unraveled it.

This is an entirely new sensation. I heard all about your supposedly insane half-sister. Have you found out why Manehatten is in a coup? I'll meet up with you once I've taken care of these soldiers. These guys sure are dumb for not having a single unicorn among their ranks, let alone a pegasus....

Once he finished reading the letter, Lance had a smile creep up on the corners of his mouth. And then, he burst out into such a hearty laugh the captain of the fabled Titanic would be envious. He soon looked back at the soldiers fruitlessly trying and failing to shoot the aerial archer down with their evident panic affecting the very tides of battle. Another laugh escaped his throat, for he was enjoying himself. This sight made the soldiers look like a bird picking at earthworms--in other words, downright pathetic.

One resilient soldier, however, kept firing after a good percentage of his body was impaled with arrows. He was limping on a broke leg and had a hurt arm and not to mention a clunky gun on his person. There was even an arrow in his eye and he still kept firing at the mystery assailant.

"Such a pity that a fellow like him has been wasted to the world, considering his balls of fucking titanium." Lance commented with a hint of a sad sigh. "I feel like he needs a proper funeral."

A familiar orange pegasus stallion landed on the bloodstained street. Perched on his back, however, was a half-pony woman in a brown dress. Her tan-brown pelt covered all of her hooves, and her sickly pale hands were recovering. Her green hair was still messy, but the tangles looked as if they'd been brushed out by a drilling comb. Pony ears perked up. A tan-grey, five-segmented horn protruded from her forehead. A green tail was settled under the dress, and green eyes scanned the landscape. She got off Apple Leaf's back and stood effortlessly, keeping her ears perked should she realize that she missed another soldier.

The quartet emerged from the alleyway. In response, the pony-woman ran to them and hugged Lance with a wooden bow clutched in one hand.

"Lance, I wonder how being half-pony's gonna work out." She sighed with a sad smile.

"Anna, I know the world is crumbling again, but even so, you're worrying too much about little things. Focus on the big things first, and get them done." Lance replied with a sigh as he stroked the woman's hair with one hand.
