Journey Into the Frozen North, Part I: Blizzard

Lance sat there completely dumbfounded. Lazarus interrupted his fun time when he was really going to get hot and steamy with Anna?

Oh hell to the no.

He was going to teach that Godling a lesson or two later....but how?

His thoughts were interrupted when he saw Anna's horn spark yet again, and this time rather profusely. In addition to this, she looked as though she were straining herself as evidenced by her scrunched eyes and clenched teeth. By instinct, Lance's hands found themselves on her shoulders and he was shaking her gently.

"What's wrong?!" Lance asked, worriedly.

"Oh god....not only am I cramping, but my horn's picking something up....Ah!" Anna replied, her voice beginning to crack in pain. She was now gritting her teeth in agony. Lance moved his hands off of her shoulders and they fell slack against his sides.

Her horn was now fully encased in a light green glow dotted with leaf-shaped sparks. Small beads of sweat trickled down Anna's face and arms as her horn began glowing brighter and brighter until it suddenly fizzed out without so much as an afterthought. She then collapsed onto her backside panting in pain. After that, the pain slowly went away and made life more bearable for the young-looking archer-satyr...thing.

She slowly rose until she was sitting upright again, shaking her head a bit excessively the entire time.

"Why was your horn....y'know, acting out?" Lance asked with a hint of a sigh of relief.

"I......got some telepathic message from Twilight. She said we needed to get back home as soon as possible." Anna answered, holding the side of her head with one hand as if pain still lingered in that particular spot.

"I didn't k--" Lance started, only to very quickly shut himself up in the same second. He recalled that unicorns had horns and could do all sorts of things with their magic. Apparently, Anna was still getting used to hers.

Anna leaned forward with a seductive grin. "We'll deal with Lazarus later. I just want to..." She started, only to stop once more when the aforementioned Godling was standing in the doorway again. This time, he leaned against the frame with his arms and legs crossed as well as a look that merely asked "really?" on his face.

Anna's smirk grew wider and her eyes twinkled a bit. The corners of her mouth were twitching.

Lazarus saw this and very quickly shut the door and locked it.....keeping himself outside. Thorny vines soon overtook it, thus forbidding entry.

And then all manner of lewd sounds coming only from pleasure were heard.

"DAMMIT! NOOOOOOOO!!" Lazarus yelped, waking up in bed. He rubbed his eyes and sighed deeply before scanning the dimly-lit room.

The first thing he noticed was that nobody else was in any of the beds. In fact, they were taking down the barricades on the windows, letting some light permeate the room.

Anna was peering out a cleared window, and thank god she was in her dress. "That damn white thing's still wrecking the military." She said, turning away from the window and noticing the now-awake Godling sitting up in bed with a mixed look of exasperation, shock, and lust written all over his face.

Lazarus yawned and hopped up out of the bed.

"Oh shit....we gotta leave now." Lancelot commented, looking down and out the window. The building began shaking as if in an earthquake. The windows were broken down with vines and the gap quickly widened. "Damn creature's in the building at two o'clock!" Lance yelled, grabbing Anna and hoisting her like it was their anniversary whilst flapping his wings much too excessively now. The building continued to tremble at a hastening rate while Apple Leaf created a tornado. "Everypony jump in!" He shrieked as his own, organic wings kept whipping up the seemingly-destructive winds. At once, everyone did as told and either jumped or was flung into the tornado. By the time the thing broke down the other barricade and entered the room, the swirling winds had already exited Manehatten and left a good deal of the town's buildings and protective wall laying scattered about in its wake.

"Okay. So....um....yeah." Twilight stuttered, curling her muzzle as she looked at Rachel.

"Poor darling needs clothes." Rarity chimed in, her voice sounding a bit off. Her ears were flat on her head.

"Somepony remove the glass, cause Ah ain't doin' it." Applejack commented, beating her hoof into the floor as if she were going to charge in a stampede.

"I don't want to know...." Twilight replied, hanging her head low in defeat.

Rachel smiled in what everybody hoped was childlike denial.

Twilight raised her head. "A group of three is going to have to head for the Crystal Mountains. I said three because there's a blizzard that's been reportedly raging since we went to help on the Apple Farm." She said, sternly.

Anna and Lance merely exchanged glances before raising their hands. A rainbow-maned, cyan mare with eyes of moderate rose trotted into the room. "I'm going too." She said.

"Alright. Do we fly to the mountains or take the tank?" Lance asked, crossing his arms.

"Take the tank. The blizzard freezes wings." Twilight answered. With that, the three took their cue and left. Wheels began whirring to life outside and soon faded into the distance.

Lance was busy typing in numbers and letters at a seemingly random pace with what appeared to be no purpose whatsoever. Anna sat next to him on a stool with a wooden bow on her back. She seemed incoherently bored now as she stared rather lazily at the big screen that showed what was in front of the tank and where it was going.

The rainbow-maned pegasus constantly stretched her wings as she eyed the satyrs. "What on earth is happening up in the Crystal Mountains?" She asked, her voice sounding worried.

"I wish I knew, Rainbow Dash. You expect me to have all the answers?" Anna retorted, not even bothering to turn around as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Point taken." Rainbow replied, closing her wings with a sigh.

The screen was showing white blurs rapidly flying past and landing on a solid white blanket. Soon, half the entire tank was covered cleanly in snow. Worse, the Valkyrie wouldn't budge any further despite the fact that everything else was running smoothly.

"From the looks of it--and I am not a weather expert--by the time the storm lets up, we'll be buried six feet under in snow." Lance sighed, his eye twitching in annoyance.

Rainbow saw on her haunches and put her hooves on her head. She scrunched her eyes shut and growled irritably. "What are we gonna do?!" She complained, her hooves rubbing her forehead rather roughly.

"We aren't even a quarter of the way there and already we've been derailed? Whoever set this up sure is smart--either that or they've been told about us recently." Anna sighed, letting her head hang low.

"How the fuck did I forget?" Lance wondered aloud as his face seemed to glow with a sort of epiphany. He stood up and began pushing more buttons and numbers hastily.

"Forget? About what?" Rainbow asked, raising a brow. In that instant, the top gun of the tank slowly swerved left and right before flames were expelled from the barrel and melted the snow in front of the Valkyrie. At the same time, more miniature flamethrowers opened on the sides and back of the massive metallic behemoth and melted the snow off and around the tank faster than it could pile up.

"About my upgrades before I got ill." Lance answered with a smile. The wheels whirred to life again and the tank resumed its preset course.
