Wonder Boy
Twilight Sparkle had just sat down and was about to read a book on Equestrian history, when a rainbow blur came crashing through her window and landed at her hooves. “RAINBOW MARIA DASH! THIS IS THE EIGHTH TIME THIS WEEK! WILL YOU EVER LEARN TO USE THE DOOR?!” The Pegasus got to her feet slowly, assessing the situation.
“Heh sorry Twi, but I have a really good excuse this time!” The unicorn rolled her eyes before sarcastically replying-
“Oh I’m sure you do...” Rainbow Dash snorted, her eyes glaring at her friend. “Come ON! Here me out ‘kay?” Twilight reluctantly obliged to her friends request. “Well Rainbow? What is it this time?” Rainbow Dash motioned for her friend to come closer, putting her hooves around the unicorns ear.
“My excuse is that… ME, YOU, RARITY, APPLEJACK, FLUTTERSHY AND PINKIEPIE HAVE ALL BEEN INVITED, PERSONALLY, BY THE WONDERBOLT'S TO SEE THEIR 5000TH SHOW! AHHHHH!!!!!” Rainbow began doing a happy dance whilst Twilight tried to get the ringing out of her ears. “That’s great and all Rainbow, but could you try and contain your excitement next time?” The Pegasus stopped mid dance, “HOW IN THE HAY AM I MENT TO DO THAT? THE WONDERBOLTS ARE MY IDOLS, I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM!” Twilight looked at her friend quizzically. “Oh really?” She tempted.
“Really…”
“Come on Rainbow I doubt you know everything about them” Twilight Sparkle continued to tease her friend. Rainbow Dash accepted her challenge, “Alright Twi, You’re on!”
“Name all of the head Wonderbolts”
“Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Wavechill, Surprise, Silver Lining, Rapidfire, Misty Fly, Lightning Streak, High winds, Fire Streak, Blaze and Soarin’”
“In the same order, what are their middle names?”
“ Mary, Elizabeth, Hugh, Isabella, Francis, Harry, Murielle, Ronen, James, Christopher, Katherine and Soarin’s is Marc”
“Mark?”
“NO! M.A.R.C WITH A C!”
“Oh I See, Get it?”
“Yeah, very funny Twi” The two ponies exchanged glances before bursting out laughing. “Goodness Dash! Look at the time!” The Pegasus looked towards the big clock above Twilights desk, it was just turning eight o’clock.“OHMYGOSH IGOTTA GO! SEE YOU LATER EGGHEAD!” The unicorn shouted back at her friend as she flew through the still shattered window, “ WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT NOT CALLING ME AN EGGHEAD!”
*Clousdale*
“OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH!” Rainbow Dash was flying faster and faster towards the weather factory, hoping that she was on time. As Rainbow neared the building, she put her hooves out in front of her and pulled her wings back up against the wind. The doors to the factory burst open and Rainbow Dash zoomed up the stairs towards her boss’s office. “SORRY GUYS!” She called back to the snow team; all of them were chasing the snowflakes for that winter that dash had thrown about from her entrance. The Pegasus pushed open the cloud door leading to lightning fires, her boss’s, office. She quietly stepped in, glancing around at the angry faces around her. “Nice of you too finally show up Miss Dash, We were beginning to think that we had to start without you”
A light brown pony with fiery red hair and a cloud on fire as a cutie mark turned around. “Care to explain why you were so late?”
“ Well you see sir, I was…”
“She was on a date with her mare friend” A colt with a deep red coat and yellow mane spun round on his chair, his tail moving slightly so that his cutie mark of a sun setting with a cloud circle was visible. Rainbow Dash felt her anger rise. “Shut up Cloud setter”
“Aww come on Dashie-poo I was only wondering if she looked nice” A few snickers came from behind him. “Yeah! Did she look nice on your date Rainbow crash?”
“ Bet she was that stupid pink mare”
“Nah bro, probably that farm pony that can’t speak properly”
“Yeah or the one that hangs out with the bugs! She can’t speak at all!” The laughter rose. “Guys I’m warning you...” Rainbow was cut off by another round of hurtful comments. “Chill Rainbow, Don’t get your messed up mane in a twist!”
“ I agree, we wouldn’t want our fellow Filly-fooler looking sillier than usual!”
“IM NOT A FILLY-FOOLER” Rainbow Dash shouted, her eyes sending daggers at the colts. “IM NOT A FILLY-FOOLER AND I NEVER WILL BE!” The room turned cold as the angered Pegasus continued. “WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT HUH? WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE THAT!”
“My mum and da…”
“I DON’T CARE IF YOUR MUM AND DAD WHERE THE KING AND QUEEN OF EQUESTRIA!, IT STILL GIVES YOU NO RIGHT TO SPEAK TO ANYONE LIKE THAT!” Rainbow Dash calmed down a little before taking a seat at the table, turning to face her shocked boss. “Please… Continue” She said in a whisper, keeping her head low and her eyes to the ground. Lightning fire cleared his throat, bringing everyone’s attention back to him, and continued with the meeting. As Lightining was speaking, Cloud setter leaned over towards rainbow and whispered in her ear.
“ Went a bit mental there Lesbo”
“Shut up” Rainbow replied, grinding her teeth to stop herself from bursting again.
“Bet that’s why their gone now huh?”
“Don’t you dare bring them into this!”
“Aw what are ya gonna do? Run home to your mommy? Oh wait, that’s right, she left you!”
“My mother never left me…”
“Think about it, How many Pegasus jump from a cloud and fall 100 meters without opening their wings?”
“My mother was hurt”
“No she wasn’t Dashie, You know she wasn’t yet you still lie to yourself about it”
“I was there! She was hurt, my father was trying to save her!”
“Ah yes I almost forgot him, The legendary Pain Storm”
“ Its Rainstorm and you know it”
“Rainstorm, yes that sounds better, he was the stupidest of you family. Tell me, what was it like seeing him kill himself right after your mother?”
“He Didn’t kill himself! My dad went after my mother but sprained his wing”
“No he didn’t! He chose to die because if he didn’t he would be stuck with you! Stuck with his Gay, Stupid, worthless excuse for a daughter!”
Dash felt herself break. No-one had ever spoken of her parents like that, no-one. She quickly stood from her chair and opened the door. "Miss Dash where are y..." Lightning was cut off by the door slamming mid sentence. Rainbow Dash kept her head down as she flew out of the factory and onto a lone cloud, high above cloudsdale. The Pegasus finally let herself go, keeping her sobbing to a minimum in case anyone flew by. After around an hour, Dash curled up in a ball and rested her head on her hooves staring up at the night sky. "Oh Mum, dad... Why did you have to go?..." That night Rainbow never made it home, she just sat on the cloud and cried herself to sleep. However, Little did she know that somebody had seen her little melt down and that she was going to get to know this person very soon. . .
