Sunrise

First Encounter

I watch as ponies gallop, hop and jump, as I sit alone drinking pink lemonade at Twist's birthday party, gulping the drink fast.

"Hey, Sunrise, want to join our game of Find the Pony?"  Wild Wind asks, a smile on his face.

"Um, sure, okay. I'll be right there.." I reply, unsure of myself.

Sky Dancer and Storm Dash move around, searching for places to hide, whereas I'm tucked behind counters of endless Granny Pie treats, such as sugar apples and gummy snakes, out of view.

I suddenly feel a light swish of the air and a tap on my shoulder. I turn to look, sure that it must be Twist Cane or Light Air, yet I see no one.

Just your imagination, I tell myself. The plastic cup of lemonade is still in my hand, half-full, but when I take a second glance, it's empty. Sun Blaire, I think, it must be Sun Blaire. But I can't be sure, since there's maximum of Pegasus fillies here that they might be playing a prank on the only unicorn filly.

"Found you, Sky Dancer! Let's go find that unicorn Sunrise Streak next..." I hear Light Air say. I wait for them to find me, sitting alone on the dusty, carpeted floor, listening as the sound of moving hooves get louder and closer. I close my eyes as the counter is flung back, spilling sweets everywhere, and knocking over Twist's birthday cake. I'm ready to here the two words, "FOUND YOU!"

   .....

Silence.

I open my eyes, and I see a figure. A glowing, dark figure of a filly, so dark and blue, with a hint of orange. It looks like autumn leaves fleeing across ash.

I let out a scream. A loud, high-pitched scream, and the silence of the room just makes it sound louder.

All eyes turn on me, and at that moment, the filly is gone, and Light Air, Twist Cane and a dozen of other fillies appear, staring in awe, waiting for me to respond.

"Murderer! There's someone in here! They're hiding, they disappeared! The pony is still probably here!" I shout before I can stop myself, and the fillies start to panic and flee. Twist's mother, Candy Quartz, shoots me a dark look and tries to calm the running fillies, but it doesn't work.

Between the chaos, I manage to sneak out of the embarrassing state, but my mother is outside, a more disappointed than angry look at her face.
