These cats are divided into four Clans; ShadowClan, ThunderClan, WindClan, and RiverClan. The cats who die in battle go to StarClan.
Scarletleaf is the apprentice of ShadowClan's medcat, Ambereyes, and one of the "Everfree dwellers" as they are called by other Clans. She doesn't care for their disrespectful name-calling, for Ambereyes says that medcats must hold themselves above such petty insults. Ambereyes also says that medcats are the only ones privy to the wonderful gift of inter-Clan friendships, as medcats do not have the same rivalries as warriors.
Scarletleaf doesn't much care for friendship. But all that is about to change.
