(Sweetie belle's P.O.V.)
You never know freedom until you're caged.
I am caged by the way he smiles.
The way he is fearless
But i'm the one in his cage
wishing that I too was
fearless.
Fearless of what?
Fearless of this feeling only he causes inside of me.
Fearless of rejection, of wanting what you can't have.
But I ask myself
Why do you want it so much?
But the answer stays unknown
The one thing I do know is that I want him
I finished the poem I wrote for last night's homework. I could feel my cheeks fill with heat, because I didn't know I would have
to read it aloud. My head turned around the small classroom to see multiple classmates in shock. My eyes directed towards
my two best friends Scootaloo and Applebloom. Knowing Applebloom, it wasn't a surprise that she was wiping away tears.
She always got quite emotional with these type of things, but to see Scootaloo with glossy eyes. Now that was a surprise. After what seemed like 10 minutes, but in reality it was only 10 seconds, Miss Cheerilee broke the silence
" Wow Sweetie belle, .that was one of the most impressive poems I've heard in all my years of teaching." She smiled sweetly and I took that as a note to go back to my seat.
Passing through, I heard Diamond Tiara call my a show-off. I shoved this off and sat back in my desk. I looked to Applebloom, who sat to the right of me. She smiled warmly, similar to the way her sister Applejack does. I looked over to my left. There he was, Button Mash. He waved to me. Celestia, why am I this excited about a simple wave?
After many poems being read aloud to the class, the bell finally sounded for lunch. All of the students ran out of the classroom, but me and my friends usually waited until everyone was out of the way. Applebloom, Scootaloo, and I was about take off for lunch, until Miss Cheerilee stopped me. I walked over to her.
" Sweetiebelle, your poem was absolutely beautiful. I've also noticed by this assignment that many of my students have a gift for writing, so i'm thinking about starting a creative writing club. I wanted to know if this would interest you?"
" Yea, totally!" I told her. That really did sound like a good idea, also another way to get my cutie mark. She nodded and smiled as we continued out of the door for lunch.
We sat down at our normal table at lunch, like always. Scootaloo whispered into Applebloom's ear and then both started giggling.
"What?" I asked a bit annoyed that they were laughing, most likely at me.
"Oh nothing" Applebloom managed with a sly smile. I gave her a confused look, before Scootaloo piped in.
"So Sweets, who was that poem about?" Scootaloo asked through her giggling. I felt my cheeks heat up by her words. I laugh nervously before saying no one
"Are you sure it wasn't about, I don't know, Button Mash?" Applebloom and Scootaloo broke out into a fit of laughter. I was annoyed that they had to put me in this situation.
" WHAT?! NO WAY!" I yelled a bit louder than it was supposed to come out. I ignored there laughing and just dug into my hay sandwich and apple juice.
"Alright, alright Sweets. We'll stop." Scootaloo said after noticing I wasn't happy.
After school, I went straight to the club house with the fellow members. Once getting in and settling down, we all just played our normal game of "ask random questions.
" So Sweets, do you like Button? We promise not to laugh" Applebloom asked me. I knew they were my friends and I could trust them, so I replied.
"Yes, fine" I sighed, feeling as if a weight has just been removed from my chest. Then a question popped up in my head for the two.
" Who do you guys like? I pinkie promise I won't laugh or tell." I said. Both of the colored drained from their face.
" Me? L-like somepony? N-no way" Scootaloo stuttered out. It was an obvious lie. Applebloom and I both gave her a look say 'we know you're lying'
"Fine, I like Rumble" She said low, almost a whisper. I couldn't quite hear what she said.
" Say that, one more time Scoots" Applebloom asked looking puzzled.
" I said, that I may or may not like" She paused and sighed in defeat "Rumble". I let out an aww. It wasn't a surprise though, they were pretty much a match made in heaven. Scoots cleared her throat and continued on our game.
" What about you Applebloom?" She pointed her hoof at her.
" Me? Well you see" Applebloom was cut off by an impatient Scootaloo.
"Oh cut the back story, you know who we like, so it's only fair."
" Fine, fine. I kinda have my eyes on Pip." She blushed finishing the question.
"Pipsqueak? You two would be adorable." I said with a smile. It was good knowing that I wasn't the only one who had feelings for a colt.
After playing our simple game of questions and trying to figure our crusading ideas, it was getting about time to head home. I walked home in peace, thinking about what the others have said about Button and I. Should I ask him out? Will he say yes? Wait, does he even like me back? All of these annoying questions filled my mind. Finally arriving to the carousel bouquet, I walked in and was greeted by the smell of Rarity's cooking.
"Welcome home Sweetie, how was your day?" She asked like any other day.
" Good" That's all I really say to her when she asks.
" Well I got a phone call from Cheerilee, it seems you're quite the writer." I was surprised by this. Why did my teacher call Rarity over some silly poem?
"Yea. she really liked it." I said with a sheepish smile.
"Well...." She looked at me, before saying "Don't just stand around, let me read what my brilliant sister has written." I reached into my saddlebag and took the paper out, handing it to her. After her reading it, she looked up at me with a look, I could quite read.
"Well who's the lucky colt?" She asked jumping up and down in excitement. I looked at her in confusion.
"Who is it about?" She asked reading my expression.
