Bolt & Nova:Sympathy for the Dragon
A Knife in the dark
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBolt and Nova were walking home from dinner later that night after having enjoyed a meal at the only restaurant that offers dragon cuisine. Bolt felt guilty about making Nova eat their often they didn’t really have anything on the menu she enjoyed but Bolt appreciated her coming all the same. He didn’t really like eating plants like ponies did but he enjoyed the gems they offer. They entered back ally intent on taking a short cut home as Nova still had a lot of work to do. Feeling uneasy Bolt walked ahead feeling protective. “Gems again Bolt!? You’re running our bits dry.” Nova said a little annoyed. “Hey I guess I’ve just got expensive taste.” Bolt replied with a small smile while his words carried a relaxed raspy tone.
Bolt stopped as he saw something that disgusted him before his feet. He placed his hand in front of Nova to prevent her from seeing. She eagerly looked over his shoulder curious as she was. And the sight that had befallen her eyes was a terrible one. A sight that equal horror could hold for Nova there on the street before them lay a dead dragon hatchling. Its body barely recognizable its facial features were destroy and its sexual organs were cut off. It would be impossible to tell what gender it was now if it weren’t for Nova being the leading authority on dragon Ethology. The Pegasus fell to her knees and wrapped her hands around the little baby body. Nova had dedicated her entire life to dragons this was living nightmare for her. She began crying tears of almost a motherly kind. Bolt placed his wing around Nova looking away disgusted by the sight he saw. Soon sirens begun blaring and lights from nearby buildings flickered on as Nova’s screaming cries had alerted the guards. The darkness of the alleyway was lit up as guards came galloping with dangling lanterns chasing away the darkness.
