Rainbow Dash is aiming to accomplish the feat of a Sonic Rainboom, and this time, not being spurred on by trying to save her friends. But not only is she trying to make the cut to be a famed Wonderbolt, she wants to prove to everypony that she can pull it off again.

Dominic, a U.S. fighter pilot, was just doing some quick maintenance on his F22 jet, when the entire base is attacked, and an imposter, Victor, attempts to steal a newly modified and technologically advanced F16. However, something neither of them noticed, was as they first entered sonic speed, they became part of an anomaly that not only transported them to the Wonderbolt tryouts, but unknowingly too...
