Black Shadow's Biography
Hello, my name is Black Shadow. I am the sitting regent of Scandineighvia. I am a Unicorn, or well... technically I am half Changeling, half Unicorn. I will explain that, my father Spymaster Shadowy Mist left the kingdom 18 years ago to develop a new spell to up our intelligence gathering abilities, in the form of a shape shifting spell inspired by the changelings. He had just gotten the throne from his father. He left the kingdom in the hands of his most loyal second in command: Second Spymaster Invisible Horn. Then he left for the changeling hive. He stayed there for 7 years studying changeling magic, changeling physique (with special focus on the queen, Chrysalis) and changeling psychology. He returned 11 years ago, not only with the complete spell but also with a newborn black coated unicorn foal. He taught the spell to Invisible Horn who was already a master of the invisibility spell and after a few months he mastered the spell and we knew it worked on a normal unicorn.
Anyway, that black coated foal was me and I grew up reading books and practicing spells, I mastered everyday spells like telekinesis and manipulation (aka flipping book pages with magic, open doors, turn the tap on the sink etc.) during my first two weeks at the castle. Teleportation was mastered after a couple of years. The shape shifting spell came easy to me, like a second nature. Invisibility however took more time but, I mastered it quite fast too. I also had to practice mastering the art of flying using my Pegasus magic though to do that I need to transform into a Pegasus first. I also needed to master using my Earth Pony powers, Earth Pony powers can be used in any form as long as you possess them but are most efficient in an Earth Pony form. (That is the difference between me and the other unicorns, I can use the powers of any form I take on, they can not. They are limited to unicorn magic, but due to my changeling blood I have access to all three magic powers: Unicorn, Pegasus and Earth Pony.)
I spent most my free time reading about the history of my kingdom, but what was more interesting was the history of the equestrian empire to the north, by the age of 5 I knew the legend of the Elements of Harmony and the fall of Nightmare Moon inside out, I learned the legend of Discord by the age of 7, the story of Hearth’s Warming Eve by the age of 6. and the Crystal Empire by the age of 11,5.
I have also mastered basic combat magic and I have a few secret weapons, I will not mention them. (The Sleeping Beauty spell with is a spell that puts its victims in an enchanted sleep that lasts forever and can only be broken with the true loves kiss, you may have heard of it and an absorbing spell. It will allow me to absorb the powers of dangerous and uber powerful monsters and seal it in my own body granting me powers to rival even Celestia. I will only use that when the time is right as it may or may not kill me. If it does not kill me it will corrupt me. I will have to be reminded of my love for my true love to snap out of it and lower my guard in order to be defeated, Or so the legend says.)
I was frequently visited by Chrysalis. (I detest that woman, her looks, her aura, her persona. She is just trying to feed her subjects when she tries to take over other kingdoms, but I still detest her, mostly for her terrible acting, she is my mother, but I hate her.)
I have the ability to read auras and hers is in a gray area not to light not to dark, but darker than neutral, and the color depends on the owners moral whether they are good or evil. Her aura is also very apparent and strong witch shows her as a very powerful changeling in contrast to her lowest drones witch are barely even noticeable, my own powers are just slightly below hers.
I will elaborate on this power of mine trough more examples take my maid Feather Dust, a Pegasus who is a weak flier but good at keeping the castle clean. Her aura is pretty standard, clear in color, not good, not evil, but has a kind heart. Good enough for me not to see her as a threat to my families rule, but her auras strength reflects her ability witch means that since she is a weak flier her aura is week compared to regular Pegasi and especially Scandineighvias elite flying team composted of the strongest and best fliers in my kingdom their aura is just as clear as Feathers but they are a lot stronger not nearly as strong as Chrysalis', my fathers or my own but compared to the regular Pegasi they are strong, but I have felt stronger Pegasi auras in the Wonderbolts and one of the strongest Pegasi auras I have felt is on one of my current targets of intelligence gathering, a mare with a multicolored mane and a very light cerulean coat.
I am now the leader of “The Syndicate” a secret organization of intelligence gatherers who also act as the rulers of the kingdom and has done so since the fall of Princess Aquas 500 years ago. She was appointed regent of the realm by princess Celestia herself. The sages council that ruled the realm before had asked Celestia to send a Allacorn princess to take a load of their backs. She sent her newest success story Princess Aquas to rule the kingdom she did well she appointed one of my ancestors as royal spymaster and he gathered a group of elite spies, that was the start of “The Syndicate” all was good and well for a couple of centuries until the princess got corrupt with power and decided to try and invade Equestria. The sitting spymaster a role that has gone down from father to son for generations since the start did not like what he saw and called Celestia since she was the only one strong enough to defeat Aquas at this stage, but with the elements of harmony sealed away and out of her reach after the defeat of Nightmare Moon. She was not able to provide with a strong enough spell to seal aquas away for more then a short while (approximately 506 years) aquas is now sealed at the bottom of the bay outside the city and it is just a matter of time before she breaks free and tries to take my throne, but I will be ready.
Shortly after her fall “The Syndicate” was appointed to rule the kingdom and the spymaster was set as regent. Nothing exciting happened the rest of that era before my father went to create the shape shifting spell and came back with an heir.
During the summer sun celebration before the thousand year my father stepped down from the throne and gave it to me. I ruled the kingdom for a year until I decided to travel to Equestria, the land of legends. In search of the most powerful intrigue spell there is, so powerful it was split into 7 pieces and scattered all over Equestria. My first stop was Canterlot castle to meet with Celestia who had the map to the spell fragments.
I left the kingdom in the hooves of my second in command second royal spymaster code name "Darkness". He is also my royal adviser as I at an age of only 11 can not rule a kingdom on my own no matter how much I want to. He is an older unicorn stallion around 35 years of age he has a brown coat and gray mane and tail, blue eyes and a scroll for a cutie mark. He was a childhood friend of my fathers.
My coat is black, I have blue eyes and no cutie mark and my mane and tail is light black, but you usually can not see that as I am often in disguise or invisible when in public, except for at social events like the grand galloping gala or the royal Canterlot garden party when “prince” Black Shadow is needed. That is my official title seeing as spymaster is less fit of a title at those meetings but, I use spymaster at meetings with “The Syndicate” or at meeting between spies where we share intelligence among one another. I always make sure to quadruple check the info just in case somepony tries to trick me. I have not been in charge long enough for any meetings to occur. My father has been the one to do this in the past but. I was always there without disguise I payed close attention to what my father did as I knew I would need it and I always made sure to cause some kind of minor incident for somepony to clean up later. Whether the incident affected the event or not did not matter I always made sure to put one of my agents spying on the one I injured or spread a rumor about or gave something dangerous and a small team of damage controllers in case things got out of hoof. The damage control team would tell somepony how to fix it or fix it over night (mostly the first one as the second one would cause confusion. the spy would tell me what happened and I would laugh. This act I also do for hire I can cause things to happen whether the customer wants to teach somepony a lesson or get revenge or whatever, does not matter and I am now on a long term job related to this, but I will get to that later.
