Rarity's Dress
Preperations
Previous ChapterRarity did not sleep that night. She sat up in her workroom, on one side the dresses she had made for her friends were modeled on mannequins, on the other side lay her original dresses she had made for them in a messy pile. She frowned as her mind began drifting back to her 'true works of art'. She felt no regret. No regret for drugging the three mares and dragging them from their homes, no regret for skinning them alive as they futilely screamed for her to stop, no regret that...well...lets just say that Opal would occasionally find a bone mixed in with her 'food'. She shook her head rapidly, snapping out of it.
"Now now Rarity! You must focus on the task ahead!" She said, closing her eyes and sticking her nose in the air as if trying to ignore something.
She used her magic to levitate over a scroll and a quill as she prepared to write a letter that she had no intent of sending. She spoke with each word that she wrote.
"Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I learned that your friends with question your better judgment even when you know more about a certain subject than they could ever even hope to. However, if I were to reject these requests I would be no element of generosity, so I changed ever little thing they wished to be changed; it was rather exhausting. I do believe that this upcoming night will be disastrous and I shall never be able to show my face in this town nor in Equestria for quite a long time. At least my friends are happy, that's all that matters right? However, even after my downfall I shall be back. I shall be back with new unique clothing that will make me more well known than even you.
Signed, Rarity." She spoke with a hint of sarcasm, smirking as she signed the paper.
She looked over it and smiled with a sigh. She levitated the scroll into the waste bin and set the quill back in a jar of ink that was sitting on the table. Just writing the letter gave her some ease, not much, but some. She held her head high, closing her eyes and sighing deeply as the first rays of the morning sun shone in through the windows, flooding the boutique with light. She opened her eyes.
"I'm ready." She said with a look of determination.
