//-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity's Dress -by Pakko-Warner- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Preperations //-------------------------------------------------------// Preperations Rarity did not sleep that night. She sat up in her workroom, on one side the dresses she had made for her friends were modeled on mannequins, on the other side lay her original dresses she had made for them in a messy pile. She frowned as her mind began drifting back to her 'true works of art'. She felt no regret. No regret for drugging the three mares and dragging them from their homes, no regret for skinning them alive as they futilely screamed for her to stop, no regret that...well...lets just say that Opal would occasionally find a bone mixed in with her 'food'. She shook her head rapidly, snapping out of it. "Now now Rarity! You must focus on the task ahead!" She said, closing her eyes and sticking her nose in the air as if trying to ignore something. She used her magic to levitate over a scroll and a quill as she prepared to write a letter that she had no intent of sending. She spoke with each word that she wrote. "Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned that your friends with question your better judgment even when you know more about a certain subject than they could ever even hope to. However, if I were to reject these requests I would be no element of generosity, so I changed ever little thing they wished to be changed; it was rather exhausting. I do believe that this upcoming night will be disastrous and I shall never be able to show my face in this town nor in Equestria for quite a long time. At least my friends are happy, that's all that matters right? However, even after my downfall I shall be back. I shall be back with new unique clothing that will make me more well known than even you. Signed, Rarity." She spoke with a hint of sarcasm, smirking as she signed the paper. She looked over it and smiled with a sigh. She levitated the scroll into the waste bin and set the quill back in a jar of ink that was sitting on the table. Just writing the letter gave her some ease, not much, but some. She held her head high, closing her eyes and sighing deeply as the first rays of the morning sun shone in through the windows, flooding the boutique with light. She opened her eyes. "I'm ready." She said with a look of determination. The white unicorn, the fashionista of Ponyville had just closed the Carousel Boutique for the night. She was exhausted from all of the extra work her friends had burdened her with in making their dresses, of course she did not tell them; after all what kind of element of generosity would she be if she had told them. She sighed and wiped her brow of any sweat that remained from the hard work day. She was filled with a sense of dread as she knew what tomorrow night would hold, a fashion show; one featuring the horribly made dresses at that. However part of her was feeling relieved that the dresses were finished, ugly or not. "Oh what a relief!" She said, crossing over to the other side of the room. "Everypony and their requests! Those dresses look simply dreadful! Don't even get me started on how much work I put into them!" She cried out. "I do so hope that Hoity Toity will like them...oh who am I kidding they're terrible! I may never be able to show my face in Ponyvil-NO! I may never be able to show my face in Equestria ever again!" She sighed. She walked over to a door way in the back of the Carousel Boutique. Rarity had kept this door locked during the day, telling anypony that asked about it that is was her 'secret project' and quickly changing the subject. She glanced around for something. Finding what she was looking, a key hidden in the room; inside a flower pot to be exact. She levitated the key to the lock, unlocking the door while humming a quiet tune to herself. "Now these dresses, these dresses are truly marvelous!" She said with a smile. She giggled a little, flipping on a light switch with the tip of her nose. The room lit up, revealing several mannequins that had dresses modeled on them. Rarity smiled cheerfully and trotted over to one of the mannequins that modeled on of the dresses she had made. Author's Note Sorry that the chapters are so short, I'm not a writer and this is something I just do for fun so my apologies for the short chapters, hope you enjoy anyways~! My apologies for really sucking at formatting too ^^; //-------------------------------------------------------// The Three Dresses //-------------------------------------------------------// The Three Dresses The dress she had trotted over to was made of a greyish colored material that was soft to the touch. There were a few stitch marks but they were hidden by the same greyish color fabric that was sown into the material. It was a seemingly plain dress but Rarity had claimed it as one of her best works. There was only one thing that stood out on the plain grey dress, a set of bubbles on each side. Now if the fashionista herself had described this dress to anypony she would make it sound fabulous. However, if anypony were to see the dresses they would not think it was so fabulous. They would not for one simple reason, the dress was made out of the coat of a pony. Rarity smiled sweetly at the mannequin as if it were a real pony. "Do you think I should showcase theses dresses one day Derpy?" She put a hoof to her cheek in thought. "Hmm...I think I should!" She yelled out in happiness. "Oh everypony will simply love these dresses darling!" She hugged the mannequin, a huge smile on her face. "Hoity Toity is sure to love these dresses much more than those horrid outfits I made for my friends!" Rarity looked over at the other mannequins, a frown crossing her face. "However I have two other dresses...they're all so lovely! Which one shall I wear?" She questioned. She trotted over to mannequin that had another dress modeled. This dress was white with a few red spots, result of a blood splatter. She ran a hoof over the stained white coat, a small smirk on her face. On the area where the ponies flank would be were two musical notes, one on each side of the dress. "Vinyl Scratch you are a lovely dress, however those blood spots simply won't make the cut! Better luck next time darling! " Rarity chuckled a bit and trotted over to the last mannequin that had a blue dress modeled on it. In place of the music notes/bubbles there were just simple hourglasses. Rarity's eyes lit up at the sight of this dress. "Oh Minuette (Fanbase knows her as Colgate) you're perfect darling!" Rarity's eyes sparkled as she looked the dress up and down, her smile growing wider each second. Rarity stood in a seemingly heroic pose, a look of determination plastered on her face. "I shall show Hoity Toity that those dreadful dresses are not my true work! I shall show him my greatest creations instead!" She cried out happily. Rarity gave the dress one last glance before quickly trotting over to the door of the room and flipping the lights switch off with the tip of her nose before cheerfully trotting out, closing the door behind her which responded with the loud click of a lock. Author's Note Again, sorry for it being short~!
