Prologue: Signs

As I lay there sitting on my bed, I can't help but ponder why I'm here in the first place. I've done nothing wrong, I haven't hurt not a soul since coming here, and I've done nothing to disturb the peace. Why do they insist on keeping me in this room full of white and why do they insist on medicating me? So many questions, but so little answers. It's so frustrating! I just sit and stare at the wall, thinking...thinking...thinking. I overheard some guards talking about me the other day. They call me an unnatural monster. Saying that I don't deserve to exist, and yet, I'm not one bit fazed by what they say. I feel nothing towards them. Hate, love, kindness, sorrow, laughter, nothing.

Why though? I want to explore the outside world, and yet I don't at the same time. I'm so bored, yet I don't want to do anything. I observe. I analyze. I pity. These ponies are so pitiful, it aches my heart to see them like this, yet it also brings happiness to see them so blissfully ignorant of what they see. I hear footsteps and voices down the hall.

"And what of his condition doctor?" the feminine voice spoke, muffled by the white walls of the room.

"They seem to be stable at the moment your highness, but I'm expecting at least double the normal intake of sedatives to keep him under." the masculin sounding voice stated as a one-way glass screen materialized from one of the walls.

"why must you keep him sedated throughout the night? I read the reports, but it still didn't answer why." the feminine voice spoke, somewhat sounding concerned about my condition. I think this voice might be the princes everyone is talking about. I wish I could see her face...

"He becomes very unstable during the night. We do not know the cause, but we have made it mandatory that all personel stay away from this area until daybreak. As to not cause further harm to the staff." The male said.

"Surely he hasn't hurt any of my little ponies, has he? Is he really that dangerous?" The princess sounded both shocked and angered by this new information.

"He's not dangerous during the day, mind you. He's just dangerous during the night, and the one that was injured  knew this as well, but still went in anyway. Sucha fool, if you ask me." the male stated coldly. Ah, that nurse. I tried to warn her, but she wouldn't listen. I started to chuckle lightly before hearing the door click, with the ever annoying sound of squeaking as the hinges struggled to keep from rubbing against each other. There, standing at a foot taller than me, was the princess herself. She had a white coat, gold decor around her neck and hooves, a multicolored mane and tail that apeared to be blowing in a nonexistent wind. I paused for a moment to see if there was any wind. Nothing. Anyway, back to inspecting. She had beautiful, caring eyes. Ones that showed a motherly love to it, but also showed wisdom and strength.

"Hello. And what is your name?" She asked in a motherly tone. I jsut stared at her, judging her, waiting for her to make a wrong move. We just sat there in silence for a couple of seconds, before the male entered the room.

"Please do not mind him your highness. He hasn't spoken a single word since arriving here." He said. This colt had a dark blue mane and tail, a teal coat, and a pocket watch as a butt stamp. (I don't know what they're called).

"Really now? Well, we'll have to break that silence of his, now won't we?" She spoke with confidence lacing her voice. This one annoyed me. It almost felt like I disliked her, but not to the point of hate. I stood there in silence. Then I felt a familiar coldness surround my being. Like being wrapped in ice or being shoved into a meat locker. I looked around nervously, trying to pinpoint what was causing it, when I heard the male speak.

"Oh no, we must leave your highness. He's going into one of his fits again!" he said as he began to take the princess out the room. That's when I saw it. The man cloaked in blood and entrails. His evil grin that stretched to inhuman legnths. His beady eyes that were encased in darkness. I looked on in horror as everything began to encase in darkness. All I could hear was my own unholy, deep, blood-curtling screams as darkness overcame my very being.
