Chapters King Sombra's Secret Weapon
I try to picture where I came from. All i can remember is the cave. Father is the only face I remember seeing throughout my life. Everyday was just another one that passed. Nothing new ever happened in the cave. Except for the occasional bypasser, no one ever came near. I tried to explain that I came from far away and that i lived in a cave. It was kinda hard to explain that I have no mother, and that I was raised by Father. But when she asked his name I was at a loss. Father never did mention his name. He just told me to call him Father.
“I'm sure he had good reasons not to tell you and all…. but that's odd. What kind of dad would have his son call him Father?” she said curiously.
We continued down the road and came to a halt at a sign. Applejack looked at me with a huge smile on her face. I looked up at the sign and it said Ponyville. I felt a smile cross my face. This was new. At home there was no need to smile so i never did. But I kinda like it. Smiling isn't too bad after all.
We continue along and eventually come to a small town. Applejack explains that this is ponyville. I look around and see tons of ponies walking around. All of a sudden I see a pink pony come running up to us. I back up a little and bump into a white pony. She stumbles and falls into a puddle. She screamed and looked at me in disgust.
“How dare you!!! It took forever to perfect my mane!!” she screamed at me
“Woa now Rarity. No need to yell. It was an accident. Lets not scare the new guy away before he’s settled in.” Applejack says to the white pony
“OMG!!! A new pony!!! EEEKK!” The pink pony said then ran off towards one of the buildings.
I help the white pony, called Rarity, up out of the puddle. She gives me a weird look and trots off towards another building. Applejack turns to me and pats me on the shoulder.
“Don't worry, partner. Rarity is a diva. She'll get over it in about an hour. And Pinkie Pie… the one that just ran off… well shes….. special. We tend to ignore most of what she says.” Applejack was trying to explain.
We continued down the road that led through town. She brought me over by a bridge. I looked up and saw a blue blur pass through the sky. It was probably just a bird. After crossing the bridge she brought me over to a house. It looked empty.
“This place here is a spare house that we usually use for visitors. Its all yours for the next couple of years, if you'd like.” she said walking up to the door and checking to see if it was locked. “Why don't you get settled in and ill go find the rest of my friends. Once you're all settled in come find us by the library. Its the big tree in the center of town. If you get lost don't be scared to ask anypony where to go.”
With saying that she was off. I stepped inside the house and shut the door behind me. There was furniture and utilities. I walked over to the couch and sat down. It was comfy. So comfy that i found myself dozing off. I closed my eyes and got comfy. A little nap won't hurt anything.

Meeting The Rest of The Gang
As I lay there on the couch I started seeing images of Father. He said that he will be sending a scroll in a couple more days. My task must be hard if hes giving me three years to accomplish it. As I continue to look at the images passing through my mind I hear a faint voice. Its reading a poem, over and over again.
Roses are red
Don't cry out
Leave this world
Listening to the words I start to wonder, more and more, what my task really is. Father said obstacles. But what kind of obstacles could he be talking about. Just as the voice stopped reading the poem I felt my eyes flutter open. I quickly jumped up and looked at a clock that was across the room. I was asleep for an hour. Applejack must be furious of me for keeping her waiting. Checking the clock one more time I run towards the door. As soon as i'm out it i let my wings unfold, taking up into the sky. Applejack said meet her by the library. I look for the tree shaped building and spot it near the center of town. As fast as I could, I flew over towards the building. About halfway there I see the blue blur pass by again. But this time i got a better look. It was a pegasus, with a rainbow colored mane and tail. The pony stopped mid-flight, turned and saw me staring at her. She then took off towards the library. Maybe she was one of the friends Applejack was talking about. She looks somewhat familiar too. I dont see how though, the only other pony i've ever met before today was my father, and the occasional bypasser, but none of them looked like this pony. I hurry along and as I approach the building I see Applejack standing outside with five others. I recognised two of them to be Pinkie Pie and Rarity. But there were three others that I haven't met yet.
“Hey there, partner! Meet the gang. You've already met Rarity and Pinkie. So Ill introduce you to the other three. This heres Fluttershy” Applejack pointed.
“H...hi. I'm Flutt…..Fluttershy.”she said shyly
“Hi Fluttershy, nice to meet you” I held out a hoof to her, but she flinched and ran inside the building. I can see why they call her FlutterSHY. Poor thing, so shy that she can't even shake hooves with me.
“Over there is RainbowDash, and the one who ran inside after Fluttershy is Twilight Sparkle” smiling Applejack started to walk towards the building.
I followed her inside and as she shut the door I heard a voice in the corner. She turned on the lights and my eyes followed the voice. In the corner sat Fluttershy and a purple pony hovering over her. The purple pony turned to see who was her and smiled. Her eyes kept wandering over us and stopped when they saw me. Our eyes met and I could see hers getting wider.

An even bigger smile crossed her face. She ran up to me and held out her hoof.
“I'm Twilight Sparkle, but my friends just call me Twilight. And you must be Nazar. Applejack has been describing you, and I tell you, she was not kidding when she said interesting.”
“This looks familiar. Hold on I think I saw this in one of my books recently. Spike! Do you know where that book I was reading yesterday ended up?”
A purple dragon came running down the stairs and stopped when he got close to Twilight. “Which one? You read about ten of them yesterday. Not including the ones you read after I fell asleep.”
“The one on those ancient symbols. I think I remember seeing this amulet in there. Hurry up too, this amulet looks like one that I think was in the royalty section. Either that or it was in the historical figures section” Twilight said urgently.
The purple dragon hurried along the bookshelves and stopped at one of the shelves. He pulled out a large book that looked to be hundreds of years old. Twilight grabbed it and tore through all of the pages until she found an image that looked like the amulet I was wearing. I looked at the page as she read, but before I could finish she jumped up and looked at me with huge eyes.
“Where did you get that amulet!?”
“I uh… don't remember. Father says that i got it as a child from my mother. But he never mentioned who she was” I said looking at her with confusion.
“Well whoever your father is, I think he is an old knight. That amulet is from decades ago, and seeing you with it only makes me wonder who your mother was. Do you remember anything about her?” she looked at me with those big eyes again.
“No, all I remember about when she was around was that I never saw dad. Only this other guy that mom used to hang out with.” my heart sank a little just thinking about her. After saying this Twilight turned around looked at the book one last time then stared at me like she was about to cry.

Sorry this chapter was so short and all of the others for that matter. I've been in a hurry to get them all out. Next chapter wont be up until tomorrow because i'm going to work on making them a bit longer.

“You called, Father?” I said as I walked up to him.
“Yes, I have a job for you. I'm sending you to Ponyville. You will live there for three years. If the job is not done when you return there will be consequences” The dark figure threatens. I recognize the silhouette as Father.
“Yes Father, but what is my task?” I ask cautiously.
“I need you to eliminate a few obstacles. I will send a scroll with details in a weeks time. But for now, sleep, you will leave by dawn” his voice echoed through the cave as he spoke.
I walked to my end of the cave and let myself relax. Tomorrow I will be leaving the cave for the very first time since I was a colt. Its been a few years since Father moved us into this cave. He’s never here with me unless there is work to be done, but I was told to stay and keep hidden. I can’t wait to see the outside world.
The Next Day
Father left a map and enough food to last about a week. The journey will be long and tiring. I should make it to the destination within three days time, allowing for the occasional rest. I decided to leave after I eat and ready myself. I had some bread, grabbed my amulet, and I was off. Once I arrive I will have to find a place to stay and a job to support myself. These things are new to me as I've lived in a cave my whole life. But I hope that there will be others like me, and that they will hopefully help me on my way.
Now that I’m on my way i'm starting to get anxious. Its only been about an hour and I've already seen so many new things. Father somewhat explained the outside world to me but his descriptions seem like a pebble compared to all these gorgeous sights. The trees are beautifully tinted for the season. Oranges and Reds. Even the animals are pretty. The birds look nothing like Father described. He said they were all annoying balls of feathers and that they should all disappear. Its getting dark so I think now would be a good time to find shelter.
I decide to take shelter under a large oak. The sky is so beautiful during the night, and the moon is big. But Father told me about them. What he didn't tell me about was these weird noises I keep hearing. They almost sound like laughter. I look to see if anyone is around but all I end up seeing is a shadow. If there was anyone here they must be gone now. I guess i can sleep now that the noise has stopped.

The Next Day
I was woken up by a loud noise. It seemed to be stampede. I took a closer look towards the direction of the noise. I saw ponies. They were running. There must have been hundreds of them. I got up and walked closer, only to find they had turned into an orchard. The trees were filled with delicious looking apples. My stomach started to grumble. I forgot to eat before I started to walk again. Lunch will have to be early today. As I looked for a spot to sit and eat an orange pony trotting towards me. I didn't know whether to run or trot up to her. She came closer and had a huge smile on her face.
“Hi, I'm Apple Jack. Are you lookin’ for somethin’, sugahcube?”
“Oh, hi. I'm just looking for a spot to eat lunch.”
“Well, partner, you're more than welcome to come eat with us”
“Us? But there's just you here”
“Silly goose. I meant with my family and I”
“Oh, well if that's OK with you that I join, then sure”
“Well then, follow me!”
I followed the orange pony named Applejack to a large barn. As we walked inside a delicious scent of apple filled my nose. As i looked around for the source of the delicious smell i saw a large red pony. Applejack headed towards him and introduced me to him.
“Howdy big brothah. This here’s umm…” she turned to me “Shame on me, I didn't getchya name”
“Oh, its Nazar.”
“Interesting name, anyways, Nazar this is my big brotha Mac. And over there by the table is Apple Bloom. Oh and the pony in the rocking chair is Granny Smith”
“You have a nice family”
“Thats not even the half of it. But most of the family is out harvestin’ them apples.”
“Oh, that must take forever. Your orchard seemed to go on forever.”
“Your new ‘round here, ainchya, Nazar?”
“Kinda, I'm only staying for a couple years. Do you by chance know how far Ponyville is from here?”
“Sure do! Tell ya what, after lunch I'll bring you there and introduce yah to all of my pals. Its not to far from here”
“That sounds good. Thank you”
“Its no problem, especially for a friend”
I sat down at a long wooden table and ate with Applejack and the part of her family that wasn't harvesting apples. Applejack was very friendly and even offered me some apple cobbler for dessert. After we were all done eating me and Applejack headed towards ponyville. She mentioned something about five of her friends, but I wasn't listening very well. As we continued down the road Applejack paused, turned to me, and asked a question.
“So, Nazar, where you from?”

"Hey please don't cry. This amulet means nothing to me. I don't even know how I got it. Here you hold on to it until we figure out where it came from" I said handing the star shaped amulet to her.
"O...ok, ill try and fihure it out. But for right now lets relax. Nazar why don't you tell us a bit about yourself" Twilight said while she wiped away a few tears.
I started to explain how I had been raised by Father in the cave and how meeting new ponies was rare for me. After about an hour of describing my fillyhood, we said our goodbyes and I startex to head back yo the house that was provided for me. On my way I was stopped by Flittershy. She ran up to me and started to walk next to me. We both talked until we reached the house. When we reached the door she turned and smiled extremely friendly like in my direction. After that we said goodbye and she flew off. I walked inside and decided to read a book that Twilight had lent me. It was about ancient warriors and how the last few were killed ages ago. As I read a few of the names seemed to stand out to me. Not knowing why I ignored them and continued reading. After about two hours of reading I felt tired so I placed the book aside and headed to my room to sleep.
That night a strange pony visited my dreams. He was tan with blue hair. He looked pretty strong and brave too. At one point in the dream he was lying in a hospital bed unconsious. After what seemed like forever I saw that my new friends walked in the room carrying what looked like a potion. They handed it to the tan pony and he drank it quickly. After a few minutes he was out of bed and looked completely fine. He also looked a bit larger. After everypony left the room my dream came to an end telling me it was morning. My eyes fluttered open as I streched. I got out of bed and started to head to sugarcube corner for breakfast. As I got closetr I realized my new friends were sitting at a table inside. I also noticed they had someone with them. It was the tan pony from my dream. I walked inside and as I approched the table yhe tan pony turned around and looked as though he has about to tackle me.
