She sat up from the bed of where she lay while Rainbowdash baby-sat her. She quietly climbed out of her bed and walked down the hallway until she reached the door to the basement. She gently opened the creaking door and went down the stairs and grabbed the flashlight from her bra. She pushed the button at the top and waved it around slowly looking for something, but yet nothing at all. She stopped at a birch-wood chest and gently stepped towards it. She pressed her hands against it and the coldness ran a shiver down her back. She drifted her fingers to the sky blue lock and took a paperclip out of her pocket. The one she always kept with her in case she needed to pick a door, it would work in this instance too. She unfolded it and jammed it into the lock and fiddled with it for a second until the chest let it's secrets that lie within come into sight of the curious world. She lifted the top and a cooling air drifted from the box into her lungs, the dust floated into the air and drifted off like fairies. An amethyst book the color of Scootaloo's birth stone caught the glimpse and full attention of her eye. She carefully lifted it out of the box and closed it. She brushed her hands against the rugged surface and lifted her now gray hand from it. She gently opened the amethyst book and looked at the words. A handwriting familiar to her that seemed to drift along the page as if water in a creek. It said " The summer we'll never forget, and a newcomer we'll love in our hearts." Her eyes drifted down the page a bit and she saw two names. Fluttershy and Rainbowdash. She flipped the page and saw a picture of a little girl, with fushia hair and orange skin like her own. The title of the picture said Scoot. She felt tears start to swell in her eyes. They swelled and dripped from her eyelids and ran down her face. She saw a picture of Fluttershy sitting in a hospital bed crying her hands on her stomach her pink hair flowing down the bed to the floor. She held the baby in her arms. Rainbowdash stood beside the bed, her hands on the child's head and her arms around Fluttershy. Scootaloo quickly turned to the next page and saw a picture of Fluttershy and Rainbowdash. Their bare skin next to each other. Rainbowdash held Fluttershy in her arms and Dash's lips were on Shy's. 'Is this where I come from?' Scootaloo silently said to herself. She took the picture of Dash and Shy and shoved it in her jacket pocket. She took of her backpack and unzipped it then put the amethyst book inside. She slowly walked up the staircase back to her room and closed the door behind her. Her mind raced with thoughts. She fell onto the bed sleep overcoming her. The next morning. The smell of grease and meat drifted into Scootaloo's nose as she drifted from her dream to reality. She woke to the sunlight glaring into her room. She sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes. She stretched out her arms across the backboard of the bed and scanned her eyes across the room. She found her bag and walked to it carefully placing it on her shoulders. She placed it on the bed and lifted her shirt off.She placed a purple halter top on top off her white bra. She squirmed out of her pants and put some cargo pants on. She the pulled her hair back into a low ponytail and put her helmet on.She lifted her pack onto her back again and stepped out of the room and scurried down the stairs. She pulled the handle and let go when she felt the hand on her shoulder. "Where do you think you'r going,You haven't eaten breakfast yet." Rainbowdash said. "What if I don't want to eat?" Scootaloo said rebelliously. "Alright fine but you'r not going to hang with your pals until you tell me why your in such a rush." Rainbowdash said sternly. "I just wanna hang, were having a meeting and I need to be their early okay?" Scoot said as she brushed the hand off her shoulder, picked up her skate board and went out the door. She rushed down the street into Ponyville's main street. She jumped off the board and picked it up as it rolled past her.She ran into Sugar Cube Corner and walked up to the desk. "Can I have 3 dozen cupcakes," Scootaloo said as she threw 7 bits on the counter "Extra sprinkles, Chocolate frosting, and Strawberry mix." "Okay scoot, what's the reason?" Pinkie Pie asked "Nuttin just having a meeting with the girls." Scootaloo said nonchalantly. "Okay." Pinkie said as the timer rang. Pinkie grabbed an oven mit and pulled the cupcakes out. She pulled a brown frosting out of the fridge, squeezed some out to taste, made a sugary face then squeezed a glop of it onto each cupcake. She grabbed a jar of pink and blue sprinkles, opened it and dumped a sugary mountain onto each one.She carefully placed them in a box, wrapped them in bubble wrap and handed them too Scoot with a smile of kindness. "I put the bubble wrap just in case you drop them from the ride on your board." Pinkie Pie said. "Thanks." Scoot said as she exchanged a smile with Pinkie, picked up her skate board, then left. She zoomed across town and too the Carousel Boutique. She rang the bell the pulled Sweetie Belle out the door. "Emergency meet me at the club, kk?" Scootaloo said quickly. Sweetie nodded her head then ran off to the club house. Scoot zoomed off too Sweet Apple Acres to get Apple Bloom. Scootaloo ran up to the door and opened it then ran up to Apple Bloom's room. "Scootaloo, what's up?" Apple Bloom asked. "No time meet me at the club, okay?" Scootaloo asked. Apple Bloom ran out the door Scootaloo following her. Scootaloo jumped on her board and rode it to the club, Apple Bloom following closely behind her. She ran up to the club and opened the door. She saw Sweetie Belle pacing back and forth nervously. "What is it Scootaloo?" Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle said in unison. Scootaloo grabbed her pack and pulled it to the floor. She pulled out the amethyst book and opened it to the second page, the page with the picture of Fluttershy holding her with Dash's arms around Fluttershy. The girls gasped and looked at each other. They wore a look of shock and superstition. Chapter 3"What!" Applejack screamed as her sister told her the news. " I sure as hey ain't been expecting that!" "Well I wasn't expecting it either." Apple Bloom said. " We can't judge them for it though. It just wouldn't be fair." "Nope. We have to give them a since of freedom as well. We could address it but, that would just make it awkward for 'em." Big Mac said. Applejack sat on the couch with a look of confusion on her face. She paced around the room and picked up the phone. She dialed '2' in speed dial. It showed a picture of Twilight. She pressed the center button and it started to ring. "Hey AJ, studying what do you need." Twilight said blankly with no tone of expression in her voice. "Um, I kinda need ya' to get Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Sweetie Belle together in the tree. I'm bringing Apple Bloom and Big Mac with me. Don't invite anyone else no Rainbowdash, no Fluttershy, and no Scootaloo. This hasto be private and they can't know 'bout this, ya readin' ma?" Applejack questioned sternly. "Alright but this better be important." Twilight hung up the phone put her book up and dialed Pinkie Pie. "Hi Twi what's up?" Pinkie Pie said energetically, as always. " I need you to come to my house bring Rarity and Sweetie Belle, no one else, okay , NO PONY ELSE!" Twilight yelled in the phone with seriousness. "Okay." Pinkie said as she hung up. The phone went to a silent buzz and she pressed the home button. She layed on her bed and sighed. She quickly got back up and went to her closet. She was still in her pajamas. She opened the door with her magic and saw that Rarity, Sweetie Belle, Applejack, Big McIntosh, Apple Bloom, and Pinkie were all surrounding it. They came into the house and shut the door. Twilight pulled Applejack out of the crowd. "Now what is this about AJ." Twilight said sternly. "Listen up ere' pony," Applejack said ignoring the question. "Sit down and make yer selves comfurtable 'caz this news, it's well unsetilin', not bad, it just ain't that normal to our ears." Applejack continued. Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom stepped up to where Applejack was standing and motioned for her to sit down. They cleared their throats to speak. " We know who Scootaloo's parents are, " Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom started. " You know them as friends and maybe even close enough to consider family. Well, Fluttershy and Dash are Scootaloo's parents," Everyone interrupted Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom, and gasped and murmured to themselves, confused and surprised." I'm surprised too, and we just found this out as well as her. They gave her up for adoption because they thought they were too young to care for a child, I mean they were fifteen so we can all see where their coming from because teenagers are reckless and don't have that much responsibility, especially to take care of a child. They gave her away to make her future brighter. Scootaloo was looking through a chest last night and found a scrap book with her, Dash, and Flutters in it and they confessed." Every body looked around with curious faces then looked at Twilight. She walked up to the girls and motioned for them to sit down. She looked at the crowd coughed, took a deep breath, looked down, and began to speak. "I know were all confused of what to do, but I think we should all except them of who they are. We loved them the same before, so why can't we now? Just because we learned something new doesn't mean we have to shove them out of our lives. Their still the same, that's just something we didn't know.Friendship is about learning new things about each other and though we may not agree we learn to work through it and make stronger bonds." Twilight smiled and dismissed the group.She called Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom over too her and looked at them as the sympathy flowed from their eyes like rays of sunlight. They looked at each other smiled and then hugged Twilight. "Thank you for opening our eyes." The girls said in unison. They walked out the door and saw their third friend standing their. They smiled and hugged her with a warm embrace. They looked at each other warmly and hugged each other again. " I heard what Twilight said. Not you guys but I heard Twilight." Scootaloo said quietly. " We were on your side all along, but we really weren't sure what to say so we asked Twilight." Sweetie Belle said. Chapter 4The girls laughed and fell onto the ragety brown blanket on Apple Bloom's bed. Scootaloo opened her bag and took out a sleeping bag decorated with the Wonder Bolts. Sweetie Belle pulled out a sparkly purple sleeping bag with a heart and music note. Sweetie Belle pulled her hair out of her pony tail (no pun intended) then layed back on her sleeping bag. "Scoots what's wrong?" Apple Bloom asked with pure concernity. "I- I can't believe that Rainbowdash is my Mom. How many of you expected that?" Scootaloo asked. Sweetie Belle raised her hand. Scootaloo face-palmed. Sweetie Belle then blushed then began talking. " Well, she is really caring for you. I mean you even have the same main design. Not color but, did you see the picture of when she was a filly? Look at your hair when you don't style it. Then look at your skin color you can clearly see some yellow of Fluttershy in it. " Sweetie Belle said. Scootaloo fell onto her bag." I guess your right. Maybe I should've seen that. How was I supposed to know though? If I wasn't as curious as I am I would've never found out. Right?" Scootaloo said with sympathetic eyes. Apple Bloom walked over to Scootaloo and gave her a hug." Well no madder wha you can always count on us Scoots, ya got that?" Apple Bloom said. Scootaloo let a tear trickle down her face. She hugged Apple Bloom tightly. ( which is a big thing considering we all know she doesn't like hugs.) The girls all layed down on their sleeping bags and Apple Bloom turned the light off.They drifted into a well deserved sleep. Chapter 5"Apple Bloom." Scootaloo said as she sat up in her bag. "What if they don't except my parents for their past, what if they shut them out like my old friends did when I didn't know my parents. What do I do then?" Apple Bloom looked at her worried friend and then down at her lap. "Scoot, they won't I promise." Apple Bloom said as she folded her blanket inviting her friend off the ground and into a bed. She hugged Scoot tightly. " What if it happens, what makes you so sure that it won't ?" "I promise it won't Scoots, ya hear me?" Apple Bloom said. "Okay, I believe you." They both fell asleep for the second time that night and where content with it. Chapter 6Scootaloo woke up and apparently at some point in the night Sweetie Belle felt left out so she crawled into the bed. Then a thought crossed her mind, wasn't Fluttershy a bad flier, so was that why her wings were small and couldn't support her body weight? She picked up her phone at the end of this thought and dialed Dash's number, which she now had saved under Mom. "Hey Scoot" the sleepy voice said on the other end of the phone. " What do you need? " Chapter 2" How could they not tell you this, why would they not tell you this?" Sweetie Belle asked. "I- I don't know ," Scootaloo said as tears rushed down her face." I went in Dash's basement last night and found it, I know I shouldn't have been snooping but," She paused overwhelmed with tears. "Scootaloo....." A voice said from the shadows. Everybody looked toward the door. It was Fluttershy. Scootaloo ran up and hugged her. She looked into her eyes and Fluttershy started to cry. "I'm so sorry, we should have told you. I didn't know what to say and it was all so overwhelming once I first saw you I wanted to run up and hug you but I didn't know if you had parents so I stayed away. I love you Scoot, you'r my little girl and you always will be. I only did what I had to I was only fifteen and I wasn't responsible enough to take care of you by myself. Rainbowdash said it was for the best you have to understand that what we did, we did it out of love. We thought you'd be better off without us, but now I see we were wrong." Fluttershy said as a stream of tears flowed from her and Scoot's face. Rainbowdash came up from behind Fluttershy and hugged them both. Scootaloo looked in their eyes with questioned love. She hugged them tighter. "I love you Mom." Scootaloo whispered into their ears. "I love you too Scoot we always have that's why I agreed to take you under my wing because I was too scared to tell you the truth so, I thought being your imaginary sister was as close as I could get. I didn't think you'd eventually find out on your own. We love you so much and you'll always be our little girl. We just didn't think we were ready for a child when we found out Fluttershy was pregnant." Rainbowdash said with full regret of the past. "It doesn't matter, I love you guys so much and I just wanna live this life now and forget the past we can be a family again right?" Scootaloo said with true hope. The word of Scootaloo's favorite song popped up into her head and she whispered them aloud. "Your my hero, Your my cryptonite, You make me stronger, and you make me weak in thought. My Hero." Rainbowdash hugged her tighter along with Fluttershy. Dash picked up Scootaloo and put her on her back. She grabbed Fluttershy's hand gave a salute to Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom and flew off into the sky with her family. The girls ran over to the boxes of sweets. She hugged Scoot tightly. " What if it happens, what makes you so sure that it won't ?" "I promise it won't Scoots, ya hear me?" Apple Bloom said. "Okay, I believe you." They both fell asleep for the second time that night and where content with it.
Chapter 6Scootaloo woke up and apparently at some point in the night Sweetie Belle felt left out so she crawled into the bed. Scoots chuckled lightly to herself and walked to the door quietly opening it. Then a thought crossed her mind, wasn't Fluttershy a bad flier, so was that why her wings were small and couldn't support her body weight? She picked up her phone at the end of this thought and dialed Dash's number, which she now had saved under Mom. "Hey Scoot" the sleepy voice said on the other end of the phone. " What do you need? "
Chapter 2" How could they not tell you this, why would they not tell you this?" Sweetie Belle asked. "I- I don't know ," Scootaloo said as tears rushed down her face." I went in Dash's basement last night and found it, I know I shouldn't have been snooping but," She paused overwhelmed with tears. "Scootaloo....." A voice said from the shadows. Everybody looked toward the door. It was Fluttershy. Scootaloo ran up and hugged her. She looked into her eyes and Fluttershy started to cry. "I'm so sorry, we should have told you. I didn't know what to say and it was all so overwhelming once I first saw you I wanted to run up and hug you but I didn't know if you had parents so I stayed away. I love you Scoot, you'r my little girl and you always will be. I only did what I had to I was only fifteen and I wasn't responsible enough to take care of you by myself. Rainbowdash said it was for the best you have to understand that what we did, we did it out of love. We thought you'd be better off without us, but now I see we were wrong." Fluttershy said as a stream of tears flowed from her and Scoot's face. Rainbowdash came up from behind Fluttershy and hugged them both. Scootaloo looked in their eyes with questioned love. She hugged them tighter. "I love you Mom." Scootaloo whispered into their ears. "I love you too Scoot we always have that's why I agreed to take you under my wing because I was too scared to tell you the truth so, I thought being your imaginary sister was as close as I could get. I didn't think you'd eventually find out on your own. We love you so much and you'll always be our little girl. We just didn't think we were ready for a child when we found out Fluttershy was pregnant." Rainbowdash said with full regret of the past. "It doesn't matter, I love you guys so much and I just wanna live this life now and forget the past we can be a family again right?" Scootaloo said with true hope. The word of Scootaloo's favorite song popped up into her head and she whispered them aloud. "Your my hero, Your my cryptonite, You make me stronger, and you make me weak in thought. My Hero." Rainbowdash hugged her tighter along with Fluttershy. Dash picked up Scootaloo and put her on her back. She grabbed Fluttershy's hand gave a salute to Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom and flew off into the sky with her family. The girls ran over to the boxes of sweets. The each picked one up and took them back to their house.
