She heard the faint thumping of hooves behind her. She didn't have the nerve to look back. She just kept running. Finally she picked up enough speed. She flapped her wings and slowly lifted off the ground. She heard the trotting stop. Had she have just heard the echo of her own hoof-steps or did her persuer have the same idea as her? In a panic she flew full speed ahead, ignoring the sting of the thorns on the trees. How could this happen? She thought to herself. All of the sudden she heard a loud crash. She gained her courage and looked back. Lightning had struck one of the trees, pinning down her persuer. "Oh my god." she gasped as he lay motionless on the cold damp ground. She stared in horror then flew over to him. "Are you okay?" she asked. there was no answer. "I'll get you out of this" she said as she strained to lift the tree. She threw him over her shoulder."You're going to be alright." She went to the nearest town to bring him to the hospital. He's going to be okay, He's going to be okay. She thought.
