I am... Kestrel, a Spartan of the UNSC... a special unit for when shit hits the fan and I was the peculiar one of the other Spartans.
The reason? Well I was obsessed with “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic” Yes, I am a Brony and how I found it? The Databank in the Headquarters.
Why did it catch my attention you may ask? Well fate I guess… hell I was bored, wouldn’t you browse around too?
On that day I could say that it was where I would call myself a Brony, I listened to the music; saw the artwork that people in the past made. I even stitched myself a plushie of my favorite pony out of some pillows and little bit of colored fabric, and of course with permission I changed my armor color to yellow and pink. Their facial expressions went from neutral to “Are you serious?” but I didn’t really care at that moment and just smiled at them.
My life was... you know...more bearable for the past two years since I began watching MLP and I thought it would keep going on like this but something weird happen on that day three months ago.
((Three months ago))
“Hey! Autistic faggot! On the shooting stand again, don’t you think you’ve had enough?” One of the marines said to me. I turn around and raise an eyebrow looking down to him as he smirked at me, sometimes looking back to his friends.
I looked to the other marines and sighed.
“What do you stuck up bitches want from me, mh?” I said to the douche bag that was standing in front of me and crossed my arms
“What do you assholes want?” He imitated me in a weird voice and then laughed at me.
“Keep on bei-” I cut him off simply by grabbing the collar of his shirt with my left hand and his belt with the other hand, lifting him off the ground saying,
“It’s time to take out the trash!”
The other Marines and his so called friends on the stand began to chuckle and watched the spectacle. He then began to scream:
“Let me down, you freak! If you didn't have that armor on, I'd kick your ass!"
I simply answered with an.
“Too bad that time will never come”
After I threw him out and finished my daily shooting, I gave the weapon back to the advisor and walked down the halls of the big building and saw the Marines training outside through the window looking over to the training field.
“Spartan M.S.D. - V198, prepare your equipment within 30 minutes and meet with General Frank Anderson in section C7.” The speakers called out and I made my way to the Armory to prepare myself.
“That’s odd... “I mumble to myself and make my way quickly to the Armory, as I arrive at the door I pull out my keycard and press it against the sensor.
The light on top of the door goes from red to green and the doors open without a peep.
I go in and nod to the guardsman that was standing in there, bored and replying with the same gesture to me as well.
Every time I go through these shelves in the armory I feel like a kid that has a birthday and is browsing through the toys area in a supermarket, except mine are weapons.
The first thing I grab is my favorite of all favorites... the M90A Shotgun and with it it’s ammunition.
I then continue to browse through the armory and get myself some grenades, a M6G Magnum, and M7 submachine gun.
As I was finished with searching for my weapons and ammo I headed to the wall where the jetpacks are and press myself against one, a warning appears into my visor that my suit is now connected with it and is fully controllable.
“Vicky, test the Jetpack to see if it’s in working condition, we don’t have any time left and mark section C7 for me.” I said and fast walked to the door again pressing my card against the sensor.
When outside of the armory I ran through the facility towards the point where it’s marked on my visor and already see in the distance the General waiting for me.
“Well look who’s finally here, the pink and yellow momma’s boy!” he said while I saluted him.
He looked at me and raised his eyebrow then asked, “What’s the Jetpack for Spartan and what’s that thing?” he pointed at the plush that was peeking with her front hooves and head out of the pocket, but as I was about to answer he waved it off and walked into the room he stood next to.
“Good, place yourself in the circle and we will give you a quick briefing.” he said and went into the room.
“It’s lightish red... not pink.” I mumbled and Victoria answered chuckling “Well… lightish red IS pink you know.”
I grumbled and crossed my arms looking up to the windows when the circle lit up and they spoke through the speakers saying.
“Alright, Kestrel you can feel yourself honored to be the first test subject of our new teleportation device and if you say something right now, well we can’t hear you.”
“Great, wait...teleportation?”
“The reason why we choose you is because of your suit. You might have a higher chance of surviving than a normal marine, so get ready, don’t move a bit, stay like this and if you have a tingling sensation in your spine and teeth, it’s completely normal.”
The other scientist in the room then said:
“Umm guys… the sensors can’t identify what’s on this guy’s belt.”
“Do something about It.” said the General
I was now worried of what could happen and this feeling in my back was hard to ignore, and the nervous chattering of these scientist made my situation much worse, why did they forget to turn the microphone off?
“Stop it! Stop the program for the teleportation!” One of them shouted. I could now see that I was in a bad situation, I was about to move from the circle but one of them barked at me saying that I cannot leave the circle now.
The ground under me began to vibrate and the buzzing got louder and louder, I was about to shit my pants and stuttered to my KI.
“Victoria... if... if we don’t survive this... I... I-”
The last thing I heard before unconsciousness was the thundering sound of the teleportation.
I think we're not in Kansas anymore.

“Vicky... my head hurts” I moaned and tried to open my eyes which seemed pretty hard at the moment.
My ears were ringing and I only heard dull sounds around me, when slowly sitting up I saw that I was in a different room but couldn’t see where exactly I was because of my blurry vision.
As my hearing slowly came back I heard sounds of chattering and clacking sounds.
“Vicky? where are we?” I could now hear her but needed to concentrate because of the constant ringing.
“Kestrel, you will not believe it!” She said while I stood up and almost fell back down because of the hole in the floor.
“What the...” I said and staggered around looking to the ceiling of this room that had now a big hole, apparently it was dark... nighttime as I assumed.
“Oh... god damn it... and they said the suit is built so that you can fall from high heights without taking any damage... fucking bastards...” I spoke to myself and stumbled to the door looking out and couldn’t believe my eyes... even though it was dark I saw ponies... different colored ponies.
I stared at them for a couple of seconds and then laughed saying:
“Ohhh… right... I know what... I bet I am still unconscious from the teleporting incident... they better wake me up.. “ I ended it with a chuckle and looked around see Twilight and Rarity in the rows
“Ha… even you guys are here… well… go-” Vicky cut me off by saying.
“Umm.. Kestrel.. you are still awake… you’re not dreaming or you aren’t unconscious, we got teleported ‘here’.”
I widened my eyes... she was right... I would never ever dream of Victoria.
One of the Ponies in the crowd put her hoof up and pointed at my belt saying
“He got Fluttershy! run!”
The crowd spread in panic and left Twilight and Rarity there alone but I also saw something familiar dashing away that was probably standing behind them, I didn’t cared at that moment and moved closer to the two.
“Um.. hello? “ I said but the two looked behind them and then backed up from me, probably because of fear.
“Where.. where am I?” I asked… I could guess where I am but I wanted to be sure and stood now in the middle of the road looking at the two Ponies.
“E..Equestria.” Twilight stuttered and both looked around helplessly like they were searching for something.
“Is.. something wrong?” I gently ask but out of nowhere Pinkie pressed against my visor saying loudly “HI.”
How did she do that? I am way higher up than she is… oh well physics.
“Hey...” I said back and was pretty much frozen in place since I didn’t know what she would do next and what ‘I’ should do next.
“You’re a weird kind of Pony.. who are you?!” she was pretty much straight with the questions just like in the show.
“Pinkie what are you doing?!” Twilight shouted at her not angry but more worried.
“I am greeting the new Pony.” She said smiling and now sitting on my head.
“I am not a Pony...” I said and picked up Pinkie Pie setting her back down
“You’re not? Well... are you a griffin? Ooooh… you are a DRAGON!” her face lit up by saying that. “I need to have a welcome party for you, don’t go anywhere! Wow an iron dragon!” she said and went off. “A real iron Dragon!”
Man for me this sounds like a “run-of-the-mill” stories I’ve read in the Database..
I sighed and looked back to where Twilight and Rarity would be but as it appears they ran away when Pinkie did.
“Ohh… great… yeah… just… just leave me here.. it’s alright.. no problem... no biggy..” I threw my hands in the air annoyed.
“Well... it’s a good thing to make new friends, huh?” My AI said and I responded annoyed with:“Oh shut up, Vicky..”
I began to slowly walk along the street watching the buildings, they were exactly the same that I saw in the cartoon and pictures, it was incredible how colorful it looked even though it was dark, the town hall, and carrousel boutique. The watchmakers shop was also astonishing. It looked like a big cuckoo clock, but as I walked down the road I heard the flapping of wings.
“Stop right there Creature, who and what are you?”
Said someone with a stern voice.
“Mh?” The voice was so familiar... oh who am I kidding... everything here was familiar to me.
Turning around I see Luna with some Guards flying above me and then landing softly on the ground.
At that time I didn’t know what to do… bow… get on my knees, greet her... answer her question?
I didn’t know and just opened my mouth: “Aaah… I... uuh... ummm..”
“I believe it can’t understand us.. I think it tries to communicate with us... it doesn’t even have a mouth or a face....” Whispered one of the guards to Luna
“You are right.. let’s take him to Canterlot..” she said and stood already in position to cast a spell
“Hey wa....it, what?” I had lifted up my hands to cover my face and closed my eyes but when I opened them again I saw how everybody in the big throne hall looked confused at me.
“What? No big boom... bright light... tingling sensation in the spine, itchy gums, not going unconscious or blurry vision?” I was completely confused and gestured around wildly.
It felt like something pushed me when we got teleported but it was definitely better than the darn thing in the UNSC.
“Wait.. you can understand us?” Luna asked.
“Of course I do but I didn’t know what to say earlier....uum... your majesty, but please... no mo-”
At that moment I knew that every other teleportation, doesn’t matter if it’s magic or technology... I was not good dealing with it and fell the second time unconscious.
“Uugh... why are my limbs so cold… “I muttered and slowly opened my eyes, apparently I was not in the Throne Hall anymore … duh
I couldn’t see my Hands in front my eyes and turned the lights of my helmet on, looking around now I see that I am in a dungeon... how did they even get me here?
“I can understand them... I am a Alien to them... don’t need to be mad... but now I know that this isn’t a dream... except I dreamt that I was unconscious and I am still dreaming-”,”’don’t go too much deeper Kestrel.” Vicky cut me off while I still looked around and saw the glowing bars in front of my cell.
I stood up slowly and approached them until Vicky warned me:
“Don’t touch it Kestrel… who knows what will happen* she waved with her finger in my visor.
“Yeah yeah.. I get it..” I said and then raised my voice “HELLO? SOMEONE HERE?”
My voice echoed through the halls but no response came back.
“What the hell? HELLOOUUU!” I put my two hands in front of my helmet, ridiculously trying to amplify my voice.
“Ah..damn helmet.. “I released my helmet from my suit and the hissing of the air echoed as well through the dungeon.
Dropping it on the ground, I again shout: “If you don’t come here and let me free.. I am going to sing! It’s the one and only warning... from me... the friendly Human...from the other friendly dimension! Open up, COME ON!”
I sighed and took a step back leaning against the wall then sliding down to the ground.
“You are not really going to sing, right?” Victoria now projected herself with the help of the helmet in front of me, smiling sheepishly.
Yeah I was a horrible singer.. got a problem?
“No.. not in the mood.. “I then tapped on the display of my forearm, trying to get any connection to the UNSC but apparently I was cut off, which was a good thing, right?
Don’t need to leave Equestria, stay and live here...it would be a wonderful life... having adventures... helping the CMC...having spike as a bro.... hoping not to be involved in any experiments of these ponies.”
Of course it will not happen but... well I panicked when I thought about it.
“Oh no... Vicky... what if... they put us in here...just to experiment with us... what if we are their lab rat!” I said looking around nervously.
“Come on Kestrel… you’re a Spartan... I thought you don’t have fear of anything right? like you said... uuh… giggle at ghosties, huh?” She said smiling to me.
“Yeah but... they have magic and… I can’t hurt them… you know... who would do that!?”
I threw my hands up in the air.
“Well if it comes to a fight.. I only see a two-point-four percentage chance of survival.” she said taunting.
“Don’t you use your fancy mathematics on me! …ahahah... you... you see what I did there...you know... at that one episode...with Applejack and Big Mac...”Silence broke in between me and Vicky until I frowned saying “Ah screw it, it would’ve been funnier if you watched a few seasons with me... “
“I know where it is from... but I am not the fan of it...” she replied
“Then why am I still keeping you?”
“Because... I mostly saved your ass out of many situation but okay.. fine with me... I am shutting down.” she puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms, turning around and showing me her holographic cold shoulder
“Alright, alright... I am sorry... come on... Vicky.. Vicky-icky.. don’t be mad.. mh?” I smiled apologizing to her. “No hard feelings?”
“Urgh.. stop it.. fine.. I am forgiving you.. but only for this time!” she said and her projection vanished completely into my helm, I then picked it up and put it back on my head.
Hours passed while I was here and nobody came...it was so boring that I got my shotgun and moved the forearm back and forth...don’t think dirty now...so the pellets flew outside and imagined blowing up some covenants faces, scratched some things into the dirt with my knife and even played charades with Victoria.
Until we heard a door opening.
“Hello? somebody there?” I spoke out and gathered my ammo together that lay on the ground.
No reply but I heard the clopping of some Ponies coming closer and closer.
I then saw a few guards coming to the door of my cell and opened it, gesturing me to get out of my cell.
“Hello?” I said but they didn’t answer back which made me sigh.
I get up and go outside of my cell, it didn’t look good for me right in that moment and again panicked saying:
“If you’re going to use me as a test subject I am forced to... uuh... fight..yeah fight!.... I think... “
They still were silent and didn’t answer... I finally had enough and was about to say something again but never came to it though since we arrived at a door.
One of the Unicorns put his horn into the ‘keyhole’ and casted a spell that made the door frame glow in a violet color.
As the door opened the light almost blinded me, we were in some sort of corridor in the castle which I didn’t know or see in the show.
The guards moved on and looked back at me after a few steps, waiting for me and gestured that I should follow them.
“What? Why don’t you Ponies talk? Did the cat get your tongue? Are you these mysterious guards who are not allowed to talk till they have the permission of the princess? Are you that badass?”
I literally flipped ‘a little bit’ out.. hey what would you do in that situation?
“It’s six in the morning.. “ said one of the guards while the other one was suppressing a yawn.
“Oh..really? I... uuh... I am sorry... then let’s forget what I said, okay?” I chuckled and put my hand on my head… oh boy I was so embarrassed.
They rolled their eyes and we continued to walk through the castle ‘silently’ of course and looked at the decorations, the interior architecture, and at every guard that stood six feet from each other in the whole building, they had pretty hard safety rules here I guess.
“Wow... the Guards at the UNSC would look twitchy beside these guys... “ I mumbled and then realized that we were already in front of the door to the throne room, how did I know?
Well it’s unnecessarily big, looks heavy and is guarded by two Ponies that have platinum colored armor.
The two opened the doors and I could already see the two Princesses at the other side of the room.
As we approach closer to them, Celestia gave her thanks to the guards for bringing me here and I didn’t want to make something wrong this time I gave her my full attention and knelt down, I felt pretty much like a knight in the medieval time.
Well it was some sort of a dark age… I mean there is almost no technology here but magic, you know what I mean right?
“You may rise Human.. do you have a name?” She asked and I got up as she commanded.
“My name is Kestrel, Goddess.”
“And why did you come here into Equestria?”
“By Accident, Goddess... but if the next question of yours is how I came here then I am asking you if we could talk this in private.” I said and looked up to her.
Some seconds of silence broke in and Luna looked by turns to me and her sister then shouting: “I will not accept it!” Princess Luna then said and stomped with her front hoof.
“No it’s alright.. but I insist that Luna comes along, she also has the right to listen to your ‘story’.” Celestia said
“I am fine with that.” I said and nodded to her, following them to a another room
We settled or rather... they settled down on the table and I stood there, and then took off of my helmet to speak with them.
I didn’t hesitated.. if I would keep the secret for myself it would come out some day and I knew it and could not deny it.
I told them where I was from and what happened at the headquarters, what I am exactly and what my duty was and from where I knew them, it was really hard to explain to them but they understood it after a while of explanation.
It was bizarre for them of course and I was slightly embarrassed when I told them why my armor was in the color of one of the ‘mane six’.
“So why do you like Fluttershy the most?” Luna asked with curiosity to me while tilting her head to the side.
“Because... reasons..” I blushed at that question.
“And... you are going to trust me? I mean... I told you some nasty things I do in my world...”
I then muttered:“Please don’t ban me.”
“Well to that thing... you do not have any guilt and everybody needs a chance, we see that you speak the truth but nevertheless.. we will have our eyes on you, nothing personal but you must understand that we are worried for our subjects and you will stay for the first week in the castle, just because of safety.” Celestia smiled to me.
“I hope not in the dungeon.” I returned the smile
“Oh no, you will be resting in one of the Guestrooms here.” Celestia chuckled.
Well... everything went better than expected and hey I could live for one week in this wonderful castle.
Both stood up and headed to the door when something came into my mind:
“Um, your Highnesses.. I would like to ask for... paint.. if it’s possible.”
“What for?”
“Well... I think it’s not good to run around in the colors of Fluttershy... “I wrier.
“Mhh… fine we will send you a maid about that problem.” Celestia nodded to me and left the room.
