Load Full Story"Mom! Mommy!MOMMY!" I screamed. She couldn't be dead. She just couldn't. Oh, Luna, it just couldn't be true. My father, though hurt, still fought. Then he collapsed. "Daddy...? Daddy!? DADDY! WAKE UP! PLEASE!" I was sobbing now. Then the Solar Empire guards turned for me.
My eyes shot open. Daymore, my brother, was standing over me. "Geez, Spirit, that musta been some nightmare." He said. "Yep. Just the same one again." I sighed. "Somethin' the matter sis."Nothin' much. Hey, what time is it?" I asked. " 'Round eleven, why?" "Eleven!? Oh, crap! I gotta go! NOW!" "Why?" He asked. "I promised Scratch I'd help him review his remixes." "Okay, just don't come back too late." "Got it. See ya bro." I zipped out the door before he could ask questions.
I sighed as I walked towards Scratch's house. Like most of us, Record Scratch doesn't have parents. Most of us just had siblings and friends. We all had parents and were living happily, once upon a time.
Scratch always holds the best parties. In his basement actually. He's also the best DJ I've ever seen. Apparently his great-great-great-great-great grandmother was a DJ too. So, ya know, probably comes in the family. He calls himself DJ PON-4. Cool, huh. Scratch lives alone, his parents murdered by the Solar Empire. Just like mine. Just like every other foal living here in this dinky little "village". More like a little town filled with foals who are older than they should be because of the horrors of this civil war. I sighed.
Then I walked right into Bass Note. A somewhat snobby upright bass player. He had a light gray coat with a darker gray mane, which was always messy, rather like Harry Trotter's.His eyes were a lighter purple than mine. I disliked him. Probably because of the fact that he was constantly hitting on me. "Oof. Oh, sorry." I said. "Oh.... Bass Note.... Hi.." I said, internally groaning. I had to deal with HIM?!?!?! Oh, stars, why today. Now, don't get me wrong. The colt was good looking and extremely popular with fillies. Well, the fillies here anyway. Oh, I can't stand him. But he was always good for a laugh, looking to cheer me up each time I was down. Which was a lot.
"SPIRIT!" I heard Scratch call. Oh, thank the stars in the sky. "Whacha needin' Scratch?" I asked. "Well, get over here and I'll tell ya." He started walking away. I started trotting to catch up. "Thanks Scratch, ya really saved me there." "Yeah Yeah, listen the princess is coming." "Wut. Did. You. Just. Say?" "No joke. My sister says that Princess Luna's looking for the Elements of Harmony to end this war. Apparently she felt a very strong signal coming from here." "So that means..." "Yeah, some of us could be Elements." "Well, Scratch as I've done everyday before this one and as I will every day after this one, I will stand by you, no matter what."
