Long after discovering her friends and sharing many countless adventures together, Twilight Sparkle began to settle into her new role as crowned princess, before the young alicorn found herself confronted by the greatest adventure of all time… in the form of a book. Discovering a classic in the making, Twilight devours the lengthy stories excitedly before introducing her friends to the epic world of Premonitionists. Set in an alternate universe known as Dussk, where science fiction and sorcery are reality, she absorbs every last detail about these long-lost warriors of good and their struggles against the tyrannous Lords of Darkness who sought to rule all.

But, things take a turn for the worst when Twilight discovers the fantastical stories to be real, and closer to her than she realizes. Inside the land of Dussk itself, the young princess finds herself pulled through a portal to a time when the world no longer needed Premonitionists, and her friends also are lost with her. But when evil stirs, Twilight realizes she's tasked with the impossible challenge of donning the Premonitionist title and begin the epic quest to restore balance to this amazing new world, as well as bringing every last one of her friends home to safety. Thus begins the story of an epic quest unlike any other…
