Think about your friends back in Ponyville! If Alexander finds you, you will never see them again! Do you want that?' '...No....okay...okay, here goes....' "...Twilight?...Twilight! Twilight can you hear me?! ...Oh, no, no, NO! THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANTED! I'm so sorry, Twilight! I'm so sorry! I'm so-' The sound of flickering, fading fire peacefully made itself at home in the small, dark room. A desk lay in the corner, with a candle laying upon it and, across from it, the door of a closet lay hanging slightly open, with a stack of books and a broom spilling out of it. In the center, standing out from the dull, gloomy colours of the room, lay a dormant, purple Unicorn. Twilight slowly cracked one eyelid open. It was freezing cold and rubbed against her eye roughly. She looked around the room, her surroundings distorted by her blurry vision. A long groan escaped her as she slowly raised herself, standing on her four shaky legs, like a newborn Giraffe learning how to walk. She stumbled slightly as she got up. Suddenly, her front hooves collapsed and she tumbled forward, face-planting against the cold, harsh stone floor. She let out another groan, this time a more loud, agitated one. Her head was aching viciously, throbbing in pain. She placed a hoof on her temple as she squeezed her eyes shut. Her legs were aching and, irritatingly enough, also throbbing with pain. Her knees felt weak and her eyes were blurry and bloodshot, stinging whenever she moved them as they rubbed against her cold eyelids. Her mane was ruffled and messy, laying sprawled out next to her and her coat was messy, stained with dirt. She began taking in deep breaths as she allowed the pain to leave her before trying to get up again. The floor was painfully cold and the air was chilly and punishing, almost freezing. The sound of the torchlight flickering rang in her ears as they slowly twitched and rose upwards. She finally opened her eyes, giving her a glimpse of the blurry, grey floor. She raised her head from the ground, shaking it slightly to wake herself up. She then waited as the aching left her hooves. and the dizzy sensation retreated from her head. As she finally managed to stand up without any trouble, she took the opportunity to look around as her vision began to adjust. The room she was in looked like an Earthquake had just occurred. The books in the closet had flooded out, leaving an untidy mess on the floor. The candle on the desk was bent over and the desk itself was dirty and grey. At first, she wondered whether or not it was like this before she got here, however she managed to do so. But, upon closer examination, she noticed something quite thought-provoking as her vision finally adjusted and the blurring completely left her eyes. The marks on the desk suggested that someone had deliberately slammed their hooves on the desk in anger or angst, as a large crack could be seen in the desk's center. As well as that, the candle was lying in almost a thousand pieces, as if someone had purposely swiped at it, and the books had been torn up and segments of paper were all over the floor. Twilight let out a slight gasp as her senses came to her like a slap across the face as she looked around at the damage that surrounded her. 'Sweet Celestia...where am I? What is this place and why am I here?' Probably the only light source in the room was a flickering torch that was hung up on the wall by a metal holster. She reached up and took it in her hoof. She gasped loudly and jumped backwards as the metal holster broke off its bolts and fell to the ground, letting off a small cloud of dust. She coughed slightly, fanning the dust away with her hoof, then levitated the torch into the air with her magic, her horn glowing a dull purple. As the light from the torch flooded onto the ground she stood on, she finally had a better look at the room itself. The walls were a harsh, grey stone and they were covered in dust and dirt. The door was hanging slightly open, as if whoever came into this room didn't care to close it. Or, maybe, didn't have the time. A small satchel lay underneath by an overturned table next to the door. She walked over to it. "This will come in handy" She whispered, then picked it up and placed it on her back. She placed one hoof against the door and slowly pushed it open. A long, eerie creak escaped the hinges and echoed through whichever room was on the other side as the large, wooden door slowly opened, revealing a long, dark hallway. Twilight gulped as she stared into the darkness. She took one look at the room behind her. She had two questions. Why was she there and how did she get there. She held the torch out in front of her. It hardly lit the room up much, but she'd have to deal with that for now. She was reluctant to step into the hallway, but she knew that, unfortunately, the only way was forward. Then, she slowly began her walk, closing the door behind her.
