I wasn't always a changeling. I, Queen Thorax, was a beautiful white alicorn with a stunning blue mane and tail. Then she took it all way. Celestia was jealous, all of her friends would come to me, and leave her. Who could blame them? I was beautiful. Then he came along. Prince Solaris in his flaming glory. He came and stole Celestia way from me. She ignored me, her mind completely on Solaris. She forgot about me. So I took care of the problem. After he left our house, I followed him. He never expected an attack.

She should have been happy. I was. I got my friend back. She was not happy though. She yelled and cried. Give her time, I would tell myself, she will come to realize that it was for the best. But she didn't. She cursed me. She told me that I would never love any pony or be with a child because of the love I stole from her. Then she banished me. She sent me away. To the Everfree Forest.

What she did not know was that I was already with child. I built a castle under the Everfree Forest in hope that I could hide there and raise my child in peace. I taught myself to feed off of the love of others. Slowly, I saw myself change. My beautiful white coat fell off and my skin changed to a black hard shell with holes on my legs. My stunning blue mane and tail turned green and my eyes turned to a sea green. My wings turned insect like and even though they had holes in them I could still fly. My horn started to twist and curve. I was beautiful. I was the first changeling.

I gave birth to a beautiful young changeling daughter. She looked just like me only with a blue mane and tail. I named her Chrysalis. Queen Chrysalis.

                                                                     ............................................

I open my eyes to the bright sun. Squinting, I sit up and groan. My head hurts. I rub my head on my hoof and sigh. Looking around, I take in my surroundings. I’m sitting in an open field in a patch of grass. I get to my hooves and try to steady myself. My head starts to swim and I almost fall to the ground. The sun is warm on my black skin. Where am I?

I see a small white piece of paper sticking out of the grass and slowly make my way over to it. I use my magic to pick it up out of the grass and open it.

Dear Puck,

You won't remember me but my name is Esther. You cant come back. Don't try to remember your past and don't try to find me. Just hide. Hide and stay way from the Everfree Forest. Please Puck, don't make my attempt to free you go in vain. I'm sorry I can't be there to help you. You must stay away and not trust…

The rest of the note was ripped off. I look around for the rest of the note but cant find it. Who is Esther and who is it I can’t trust? I put my head near the ground and peek into a patch of grass. All of a sudden I am knocked off of my hooves and I curl into a ball as I smash into the ground. I close my eyes and whimper, my head throbbing. I hear whoever smashed into me slowly approach me. I tense up, waiting for my attacker to attack again. It did not come. I cracked open my one of my eyes to take in the attacker. It was a young light blue Pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and tail. She was looking at me with a confused look on her face. She was beautiful.

I open my other eye and look up at her. Her confused look turned into a glare and she spread her wings to make herself bigger. I try to stand but my head throbs again and I cry out. The mare jumps back in fear, the glare wiped off her face and was replaced by the confused look again. She swallows and takes a step towards me.

“Your a changeling.” she says. I smile and look down at myself.

“Really? I hadn't noticed.” I say and smirk at her. “The names Puck.” The mare looks taken back at my friendliness. She coughs and shuffles where she stands.

“Your a changeling.” She says again. “Your a monster. You're not supposed to be here.” I stand up slowly, and look her straight in the eyes. She stands up straighter and glares at me once again.

“Not all changelings are monsters.” I say, feeling frustration start to come up. I meet her glare. “Especially not me. Heck, I don't even remember anything about my past.” I look down. I hadn’t thought of that. I don't know anything about my past. I sit down and drop my head, my nose almost touching the ground. The mare walks over to me and sits down next to me.

“You don't remember your past?” She asks softly. I shake my head and feel a tear slide down my cheek. I quickly wipe it off on my hoof. “My name is Rainbow Dash, by the way.” I look up at the mare, Rainbow Dash, and smile. I use my magic to lift the note from where it fell when Rainbow Dash hit me.

“This is all I have.” I say quietly and cautiously hand the note to her. Why am I being so nice to this strange Pegasus? She takes the note from me and reads it. The cute confused look comes back to her face. “I was trying to find the other part of it when you, urm, showed up.” She gives me a small, apologetic smile.

“Ya about that. I’m sorry, I can't be too careful.” She stands up and puts out her hoof for me. I grab it and stand up. “We had problems the last time changeling showed up. I didn't mean to hurt you.” I smile and rub my head.

“You didn't hurt me. Well, not really. I just had a headache and when you pushed me it come back.” I smile and place my hoof on her shoulder. Rainbow Dash tenses up and I let me hoof drop. She stands up and turn away from me. I bite my lip. Why am I trusting her? I only just met her! Rainbow Dash looks over at me and smiles. That's why. She could have hurt me, but she didn't. She trusts me, so why should I not trust her?

"We have to get you a disguise." Rainbow says and turns back towards me. "Your a changeling, so that means you can make yourself look like another pony, right?" She starts to pace. "But you cant just go and copy some pony here in Ponyville. Can you just make up any pony in your head?" She stops and looks at me.

"No I cant just make any pony up. But I can do this." I back up away from her and close my eyes. I picture a dark gray alicorn pony with a choppy blue and white mane and tail. I feel the heat from a green ray that raps around me on my new fur. My wings tingle when they change to feathers. I open my blue eyes and smile.

"How do I look?" I do a small twirler, careful not to make my head swim again. Dash looks at me, mouth wide open. Slowly she smiles and walks up to me. Rainbow starts to laugh as she runs her hoof threw my new mane. She steps back and take a good long look at me.

"You have freckles!" She says and smiles. "And your an alicorn." Her smile fades. I look at my back and fluff out my wings.

"Ya, so?" I say as I turn back to her.

"Your going to raise suspicion. Only princesses and princes are alicorns. I though you could not just make up any pony on the spot." Rainbow says and frowns.

"I cant. I do know this pony. I just don't remember who he is. I don't think it will be a big deal though. I can just use my magic to hide my horn. No pony will know." I say and walk up to Rainbow. "It will be fine." She gives me a half smile.

"I hope your right." Rainbow says. "Come on. Lets go to my house."
