Pinkie Pie was lying on the ground on her stomach, gently blowing the fuzzies off of a dandelion. She watched as the little specks floated away with the breeze and smiled contently to herself.
"It's beautiful.", Applejack said quietly from in front of her.
"What is?", Pinkie Pie asked.
"Yer smile.", Applejack said as she pushed herself forward and left a trail of kisses from Pinkie's cheek to her mouth. "Fer every smile Ah see today, Ah'ma gonna kiss ya. That's the toll.", Applejack said in a seductive tone, and then she planted a kiss on Pinkie's lips.
Pinkie Pie giggled and rolled over onto her back and looked up at the clouds. Applejack stood up and walked over to her and followed suit. The two mares watched the clouds roll by and pointed out the things they saw in the clouds.
The day had been perfect, it was warm and sunny, a calm cool breeze blew, and all of the flowers in field that they were in seemed to be an ocean of vibrant colors. Pinkie Pie put her fore hooves behind her head, 'Yep, today was perfect.', she gingerly thought to herself, as another smile crept across her lips.
Applejack promptly rolled over on top of her and said, "There it is again. Ya know, if Ah didn't know any better, Ah'd say that yer doin it on purpose."
Pinkie looked up into her marefriend's eyes and said with faux innocence, "Who me?", ending her question with a laugh.
Applejack silenced her laugh with a deep passionate kiss. Their tongues were gently playing with one another in a game that only lovers play, and the two of them lost track of time as the kiss deepened further and further.
The kiss was finally broken by Applejack, as she slowly pulled away from Pinkie Pie, a thin stream of saliva was all that connected the two mouths that just a second ago, was a battlefield of love and desire. Applejack stared into Pinkie Pie's eyes and saw the love in her eyes. The amount of joy that shot through her at that moment couldn't be measured on any scale.
She laid her head down on Pinkie's shoulder and whispered into her ear, "Pinkie, Ah love you."
Pinkie Pie hugged Applejack's neck tightly and whispered back, "I love you too, AJ."
After a few seconds Pinkie Pie released Applejack, and she rolled off of her and sat up. Pinkie Pie soon sat up as well, and turned towards Applejack. She watched the love of her life stared off into the distance, remove her Stetson, look at it, and she started forming tears in her eyes.
"AJ? AJ, what's wrong?", Pinkie Pie asked in a caring tone, as she placed her hoof on Applejack's shoulder.
"Awe, it's nothing sugarcube.", Applejack said as she wiped away a tear, "Ah just miss my ma and pa is all."
Pinkie Pie pulled Applejack into a hug and squeezed. She felt Applejack start sobbing, so Pinkie Pie began to sway side to side and rub her back. She began humming a soft sweet tune to Applejack that her mother would sing to her when she was a filly. She would've sang it to her if she could've remembered the words, but for some reason they escaped her at this moment. She decided that she had to make up some words.
"If I could do just one thing,
I wouldn't want to be queen or king.
I know exactly what I'd do.
I'd spend everyday with you."
Applejack pulled back from the hug a little and looked at her marefriend with a small smile, which Pinkie took as her cue to continue.
"Everyday would be great and fun,
our love would shine brighter than the sun.
We would always do something new,
while I spend everyday with you."
Applejack's tears had stopped falling and the small smile that was on her face was replaced by a huge beaming one. She felt so overwhelmed with joy that she began to sing along.
"Everyday would be sunny and warm,
there would never be a single storm.
And as sure as violets are blue,
Ah want to spend everyday with you."
Applejack smiled when she saw a flash of love in Pinkie's eyes.
"It's not what Ah want, it's what Ah need,
I'd be more loyal than any steed.
I hope that Ah gave you a clue,
I need to spend everyday with you!"
The two earth ponies just sat and stared lovingly into each other's eyes for a moment before enveloping each other into another hug. Pinkie Pie broke away from the hug, which confused Applejack at first, but then she pounced on top of her orange lover and began kissing her all around her face, ending her vicious assault with one kiss on the farm pony's lips.
When Pinkie Pie finally allowed Applejack to sit up, the smile on Pinkie's face couldn't be rivaled by anypony in all of Equestria.
Applejack leaned over and whispered in Pinkie's ear, "There's that smile again. Now you have to pay the toll."
Pinkie Pie jumped up and began bouncing away, "You have to catch me first!"
Applejack grinned and stood up. She started running after her marefriend. She used Pinkie's giggles to home in on her until eventually she could see her. Applejack ran up next to Pinkie and tapped her shoulder.
"Ah gotcha!", she said as she wrapped her fore hooves around Pinkie's neck.
She gently brought her down to the ground and began tickling her sides. Pinkie Pie kicked helplessly at the air and laughed so much that her sides felt like they were on fire. Finally after about a minute, Applejack relented and ceased her tickle-torture of Pinkie Pie.
"I... I thought, I thought the toll was a, was a kiss?", Pinkie asked a little while after Applejack stopped tickling her.
"Oh it is,", Applejack purred into Pinkie's ear, "but you can pay it after supper."
Pinkie blushed and held out her hooves. Applejack helped Pinkie to stand up and the two of them began walking to the farm house. Pinkie Pie began talking about her secret recipe for cupcakes when Applejack interrupted her.
"Pinkie?", Applejack asked, wanting to get her attention.
"So after you add the flour and the sugar..."
"Pinkie.", Applejack said getting a little annoyed.
"I've found that three teaspoons of vanilla isn't enough, so..."
"Pinkie!", she shouted.
"Yes Applejack?", Pinkie asked in her normal peppiness.
"Did you mean what you said earlier?", Applejack asked.
"Oh yes! You shouldn't use rye flour when making cupcakes. Last time..."
"Not that darlin'. Ah meant about spending everyday with me?", Applejack specified.
"Of course I did! If not that would be lying, and can't lie to you Applejack! In fact I Pinkie Promise that I meant it. Cross my heart," she did the hoof motion and kissed Applejack on the cheek, "hope to fly," she did the motion and kissed Applejack's other cheek, "stick a cupcake in my eye.", She did the final motion and kissed Applejack squarely on the lips.
"Does that answer your question silly?", Pinkie said with a grin.
"Yes it does.", Applejack said as she leaned over and kissed Pinkie on the cheek. Applejack then said with a smirk, "You know that those kisses don't count towards yer toll right?"
