Kingdom of Shadows

Screams.

Ponies everywhere, all of them screaming.

One of them is close, closer than the rest. He's yelling at me to do something. I can't hear him over the screams, but I know that its urgent.

Laughter.

Not your run of the mill chuckle. Insane, unnaturally loud laughter.

His laughter.

The pony beside me is gone replaced with a bipedal creature who throw something at the source of the laughter. No, not at the source, but at some kind of pillar. An obelisk made of clear crystal, shimmering in the afternoon light.

The creature is gone now replaced by a griffin who flies at something floating in midair. Somepony is pulling me away from the spectacle.

Luna.

She's yelling at me about something, but the laughter is so loud that I can't...

"Run sister! Before it's too late!"

She guides me through the crowd of  panicking equestrians towards something. Somepony behind me screams louder than the rest and the laughter escalates. I turn to see a massive ball of energy expanding, pushing the source of the laughter back. Banishing the dark presence, but at the same time enveloping ponies unable to escape its path.

It's almost reached us. I can make out silhouettes in the orb of power, but not individuals. It's about to catch us in it's snare of energy when suddenly I feel like I'm being teleported away.

Darkness.
