Chapter 1: Coward
It was a sunny day in Ponyville.Twilight Sparkle was in her library alone studying . When a stetson wearing cowpony walked in.
"Applejack ! What a surprise ! How are you?" said the exited pony.
"Howdy Twi , I'm fine. Kind of ya to ask. Say Twi,Spike isn't around now is he ?" said Aj looking around the room.
" No he's most probably gawking over Rarity. Why?"
" Heh, I kinda need to tell ya something."
" Okay,Applejack tell me what's wrong." said Twilight , seeing her friend's nervous face.
"Thanks Twi,I really need to get this of my chest."
Applejack's POV
I guess it started the first time I met Fluttershy,she was sweet and all but I didn't think about her more than a friend. Then we started to hang out more suddenly I saw her in a whole new light. I thought she was the loveliest mare I've ever laid eyes on. Heck, I still do. At first I denied it. Y'all don't see two mares together that way often do ya. Still, I could'nt get her out of my head.I realized the heart wants what the heart wants and they're ain't nothing you can do about it.
I love that shy filly. But never could tell her though. Me,Applejack, element of honnesty couldn't tell Fluttershy how I felt?!?!
But one day I woke up , put on my stetson and trotted off to Sugarcube Corner determined to tell Fluttershy how I felt.
But somepony beat me to it.
Once I came in,I saw Rainbow wrapping her wing around Fluttershy ,whispering in her ear. I was chocked, I couldn't breath.
Then I hear.
" Applejack ! Glad you could make it. We got something to tell you,but you can probably guess what it is." said Rainbow giving Fluttershy a quick nuzzle.
"Heh,I reckon I can Rainbow .Howdy Flutters ." I said forcing a smile.
"Oh,hi." she replied weakly.
I din't even notice the rest of the girls were there. I saw how happy they were and I was glad for them. But it made me ache. I was ready to tell Fluttershy how much I've been thinking about her. How I thought she was the kindess,sweetest,loveliest mare in all of Equestria. How I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER! And how happy she made me.
But Rainbow beat me to it. She beat me to it. She was brave. Dawm it ! I envied her. It was the cruel reality,but I had to face it.
I was a coward.
