//-------------------------------------------------------// How Love Was Found On Heart's Warming Eve -by Red Mare- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Love Shines Through The White Storm //-------------------------------------------------------// Love Shines Through The White Storm The weather schedule for all weather patrol teams all over Equestria, on a regular Heart's Warming Eve, it had to be snow. The white flakes fell down slowly from the sky, some flakes descended freely, and floated to any destination, while some flakes hit the cold ground, and began to pile up. So during this Heart's Warming Eve, a Changeling separated from his hive was walking down the streets of Ponyville, shivering from the cold. He and the rest of his hive tried to take over Canterlot Castle by sabotaging the Royal Wedding and using the love to their advantage. His queen however, had hypnotized the Captain of the Royal Guard, now future Prince of the Crystal Empire, and weakened the barrier around Canterlot Castle and the invasion had began. But when the Princess of Love had given her love to the pony she loved, all the Changelings had been blasted away from Canterlot and scattered all over Equestria. This Changeling that is walking right now, had been walking for quite a while now looking for his brothers, sisters, and his queen. But he had found no trace of them anywhere, so he had walked alone into the cold storming night. As he was walking, he saw a town in the distance. And that is how the lone Changeling was brought to the town of Ponyville. He walked into the town, the snow falling a little faster, sticking to him, and melting away into water. He began looking at all the bright lights that shone in houses. He walked up to a particular oak tree, and looked in the window. Hew saw a purple unicorn and a drake walking around the house preparing a party of some sorts, he then notice the purple unicorn more clearly as she turned herself around to face the window he looked in. This oak tree belongs to my queen's mortal enemy, Twilight Sparkle. He gritted his teeth together in anger, as he thought of how to deal with the purple unicorn and the drake next to her. But he felt only saddened when he realized that his hive is somewhere in Equestria. But that wasn't what he was feeling no, he was feeling alone and he knew no pony, not even the Elements of Harmony would want to be his friend for what he and his hive had invaded during the Royal Wedding and almost took over Equestria. So he looked down at the snow covered ground, away from the window, hoping his mortal enemy didn't see him. He walked away from the oak tree home and continue to walk through the blizzard that had begun some what earlier. As the Changeling walked, the snow flakes had gotten bigger, and fell onto the Changelings back. Soon the Changeling looked at where he was and he realized he had walked into the middle of a open field covered by snow. He legs felt wobbly and gave out from under him. His wings were glued to his back, and he felt tired. So this is the end of the Changelings. Maybe I can find some peace and I don't have to tolerate what may come. I just hope the Princess of the Sun, the Princess of the Moon, the Princess of Love and Prince of Shields, and the Elements of Harmony can forgive me for what I have done (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZTpLvsYYHw) The Changeling thought to himself, as he closed his eyes, hoping he wouldn't suffer anymore. But before he closed his eyes, he saw a yellow blur walking towards him. That is when the Changeling finally closed his eyes and relaxed himself for a long slumber. ======================================================================= Moments have passed, and the Changeling thought he had been buried under the white blanket of cold snow. he then began to smell something being cooked from a kitchen. He opened his eyes and realized the ceiling was made out of wood from a oak tree. He then realized he was inside his enemy's home, and a rainbow maned pegasus was hoovering off the ground and flew towards him. The rainbow maned pegasus was looking at him directly, her magenta eyes sparkling in the dim light. The Changeling didn't want to cause trouble but before he could make a move a cyan blue hoof had held him in his place. "You need to rest if you want to recover your strength." The pegasus said, trying not to sound like a bitter pony finding garbage on their lawn. "Why?" The Changeling asked, confused by the pegasus's words. "Well you were out in the cold silly billy. Also you looked like you had been through a lot, like I had been trying to recover a newspaper from the Cakes but they beat me to it every time." A pink pony chirped, seemingly coming from out of nowhere. "Where did you come from?" The rainbow pegasus asked, looking for all possible directions of where the pink pony came from. "The air duct silly Dashie." The pink pony said, hopping around the room. "But Twilight doesn't have an air duct Pinkie." The rainbow pegasus said, face hoofing herself. "Is everything goin alright out 'ere?" asked a voice from a orange pony with a brown stetson hat. "Yes is everything alright out here darlings?" Asked a white unicorn with a purple curled mane. The Changeling looked at all the ponies that were in the room. and he realized that they were the mares that wielded the Elements of Harmony but two were missing from the picture. He began to felt uncomfortable with the enemies he knew were surrounding him. I wonder if these ponies that resemble the Elements of Harmony had saved me from my graceful death that I wanted. Why would they do that? The Changeling thought to himself as he inspected his enemies closer. As he looked at the ponies in the room, he realized that maybe they were giving him a second chance at life. A smile had shown itself onto his face, but his heart would betray him as he began to feel the loneliness creeping at him. The smile had disappeared and he looked down at his covered body. He had been laying on a couch of some kind, a white pillow had been placed under his head, and a sky blue blanket had kept him warm and covered from head to hoof. I shouldn't be here. After what I did and done to them. I shouldn't let them keep me here. They don't want to be my friend. They just want to keep me here till I'm healthy and well. Pretty soon they will kick me out of here and then I'll be alone for the rest of my life. The Changeling thought to himself, as he looked at the mares again. this time however their attention was drawn to something that was coming down the stairs. That is when the Changeling took his chance, he uncovered himself and, put his hoof on the wooden floor. After resting for who knows how long, the Changeling had regained all of his energy. And with it, he slowly walked out of the Golden Oaks Library, and walked into the cold snow blizzard night. ======================================================================= "Girls where is the Changeling?" Twilight Sparkle asked, as she walked into the room and saw her couch was empty, and the sky blue blanket was on the wooden ground. "You mean the changing dude Twi. He's on your couch sleeping." Rainbow Dash replied, not taking her eyes off of a pony walking down the stairs. "Well he isn't there Rainbow." Twilight said, as she grabbed the blanket off the ground with her magic and folded it up, and placed it back on the couch. "Are ya sure Twi? Maybe he went to use the restroom or something." Applejack said, looking back at her purple friend. That is when Applejack notice the couch was empty, and no Changeling was found laying on it. "What in tarnation? Where did the critter run off to?" Applejack asked, as she walked towards to couch. "Maybe he used the restroom." Rainbow said, still looking up the stair case. "Rainbow, there is no pony up stairs that will be coming down." Twilight said, feeling annoyed Rainbow would be paying attention to nothing. "But I hear something grunting and rummaging through something." Rainbow said, defensively. She then join her other friends, looking at the empty couch. "Well, what could be up there?" Twilight asked, now focused who else was in her library. "Well darling. Maybe it's your secret admirer that has come to profess his love towards you." Rarity piped in, her eyes glowing in excitement. She then got a mental picture of a handsome stallion, holding a rose to her friend Twilight, and telling her that he has had his eye on her from afar. A sigh had escaped the white unicorns lips, as she became lost to the world. "Well whoever is up stairs, is surely being rude not showing their face." Rainbow pointed out, rolling her eyes. "Ah agree with Rainbow there. Whoever is up there better come down to talk to Twi or Ah'll send him back wherever he came from." Applejack said, her tone dead serious. That is when Pinkie Pie popped up out of nowhere, and said, "Well maybe they're just shy, and are trying to prepare a conversation with Twilight alone. Like the time I was alone and no pony knew what I was going through, but then Dashie came and said the most sweetest thing ever." "Whoa Pinkie let's not tell anypony about that yet." Rainbow said, a blush had crept onto her face as she began to try to find a way to change the subject. "Aww but Dashie, I think our friends should kn--- "There is a cake with your name written on it Pinkie." Rainbow said, interrupting the pink party mare. "Cake!!!" Pinkie exclaimed as she already left the room, and was already in the kitchen looking for the cake Rainbow had told her. "Now that was kind of mean darling." Rarity said, looking at Rainbow with a disapproving glare. "But I really want to tell you guys about it later okay." Rainbow exclaimed, feeling a little guilty about what she just did to her friend. "Tell us what sugarcube?" Applejack asked, now paying attention to her Rainbow friend. That is when all the mares in the room, heard a loud thump coming from up stairs. "Okay girls we need to get up there and find out who is up there." Twilight said, taking role of leader, as she looked at her friends, Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity. Pinkie Pie was still in the kitchen, looking for the cake Rainbow told her that was there, Spike was outside looking up at the night sky and admiring the scenery, and Fluttershy was at her cottage, staying nice, warm, and she was drinking tea. "Alright time for some action. Rainbow said, her wings sprouted outwards while she punching the air with her hooves. "Ah say we hog tie the stranger, and send them back to their home." Applejack said, grabbing her lasso in her mouth. "Fighting isn't my thing, I'm more into fashion, but I'll rip the strange pony to pieces if they harm my friends." Rarity said, holding her hooves out in front of her, ready to attack at any time. "Ohh ohhh ohhh, can I join in on your guy's riot party." Pinkie Pie chirped in, coming back from the kitchen and rejoining her friends. "Okay let's go." Twilight said, as she walked up the stairs, her friends following closely behind her. Although Pinkie was giving Rainbow a glare. The type of glare that said, "You shouldn't have lied to me." ========================================================================== The Changeling walked through the snowy blizzard storm that began to hit Ponyville hard. The snow flakes had grown to the size of a rock, and the white flakes began to descend fastly to the ground making the road covered in a huge blanket of snow. The Changelings hooves were already ankle deep in the white blanket as he kept walking, some times a flake of snow would get in one of his eyes, he would blink and they were gone, while some melt and turn to water against his black coat. He kept walking, walking, and walking with no destination in his mind. He looked behind him and saw that no pony was following him. So I was dreaming about those Elements of Harmony being kind to me. After what my queen, my brothers, and I done at the royal wedding, this is the punishment I deserve. The Changeling thought to himself as he kept walking through the dangerous blizzard. Crunch, crunch. Footsteps had echoed in the chill night air. Somepony had stepped through the snow covered ground as they were walking the same way the Changeling was. The Changeling looked behind him, wondering who was out here late at night. Crunch, crunch, crunch. The footsteps were picking up there speed as if they were running directly at the Changeling. So the Changeling ran as fast as he could go through the thick white blanket. He ran, and ran, thinking somepony had spotted him and they were going to either capture him and turn him over to the royal guard or possibly kill him. Everypony who saw the Changelings thought they didn't deserve a family, love, or a name. Well all of those traits are true. Once your born a Changeling, you have no name but are given your birth number and you are surrounded by others who have the same thing. Once your a changeling, you have a mission to get something called, "Love," and give the love to your queen and the rest of the hive. The Changeling we are talking about in this story. His birth number is 047. But during his travels he had forgotten his birth number and was hungry and weak. As he ran he tripped and fell face first into the white blanket of snow below him. He lifted his head and flipped his body around and crawled back. He then was backed up against a tree and looked forward to see his attacker. But he saw no pony coming at him or anything, so he closed his eyes, and sighed in relief. Just as he was about to get up, the Changeling's legs gave out and he fell back down again.Great might as well get comfortable as I can. The Changeling looked up from his position and he saw the drake that was in Twilight's library. "Hello Changeling." The drake said, smiling towards the black bug creature. "What do you want drake?" The Changeling asked, looking down at the ground. "I came to get you and take you back to the library." The drake replied, holding out his claw to help the weak Changeling. "Why?" The Changeling asked, looking at the drake again. "Well I really want to get to know you better. And there is a surprise for you once we get back." The drake replied, as a blush crept onto his face. "Can't I just be left alone?" The Changeling asked, feeling disappointed. "Why would you want to be alone?" The drake asked, wondering why would a creature would say such a thing. "Because all I want is to be alone. No pony would ever love a Changeling like me." the Changeling said, bitterness in his tone. Although tears were escaping his eyes because of the loneliness. There was that word again, love. Something that Changelings feed off of ponies to get stronger and feed themselves. But it is the same thing that defeated the Changelings during the invasion of the Royal Wedding. "I think if you try hard enough somepony would definitely come to love you eventually." The drake said, looking down at the Changeling with pity and sadness. That is when the Changeling broke down, tears were escaping him and leaking down his face like a waterfall. Green globs of snot dripped out of his nose as he continued to cry himself out. All this time he had been so lonely that he had died but he didn't. What he felt in his heart wasn't loneliness but pity. He pitied himself for not finding his family or making any friends while he came to Ponyville. Just as he was about to cry out some more, he felt really tired from crying out too much and he collapsed into the blanket of snow below him. The drake sighed in relief that the Changeling had been exhausted and wanted too make sure he got plenty of rest. The drake then lifted the Changeling onto his back and carried him back to the Golden Oaks Library. He looked over his shoulder and for the first time that night the Changeling had smiled. The drake smiled at the sleepy black bug creature and looked back towards the trail of foot prints that had been in the snow. ============================================================================ Moments had passed since the blizzard had stopped, during the process of walking in cold air and blanket of snow, Spike had finally made it back home. As he reached for the door knob the door had magically swung open and a purple unicorn appeared in front of him. She had a worried look on her face as she saw her assistant carrying the Changeling on his back. "Thank Celestia your alright Spike." Twilight said, letting out a sigh of relief. "Sorry I left without telling you anything Twi." Spike said, looking down at the ground. "As long as you're safe, and not doing anything stupid, you can go anywhere you like." Twilight said, grabbing the drake and pulling him into a embrace. Spike would've like to return it but he had guest to put down first. "Umm Twi maybe we should put this guy back on the couch." Spike said, pointing a single claw towards the Changeling on his back. Twilight had let go of her assistant, and used her magic to levitate the Changeling off of Spike's back and carried him to the couch. She then put a pillow under the Changeling's head, and covered him up with the sky blue blanket she folded up earlier. She looked down at the creature, seeing the smile on his face as she couldn't help but smile back at him. Then Twilight just remembered something that she and her friends saw upstairs. She looked towards Spike and asked, "Why is the Changeling Queen here in my library?" Spike began to blush as he replied, "Well you see about that.............." =========================================================================== Warm. That is what the Changeling was feeling right now, warm and cozy. He never felt like this at all in his life. But he wondered, what was making him warm. He opened his eyes and he saw that he was covered with the sky blue blanket like last time. He turned his head slightly and he saw he had a pillow right under him. He wondered if the drake and his friends had put him here and were given him shelter. He looked around the library and no pony was in the room, although he could hear whispers in another room. He got up slowly, making sure he wouldn't collapse again. He put his hooves on the ground and walked into the other room. What he saw was all the mares that resemble the Elements of Harmony and the drake surrounding a tall Changeling. Without thinking, he rushed in the room, hoping to rescue his comrade. Adrenaline was pumping in his veins as he got closer to the group. That is when he then notice the black crown laying on the Changeling's sea blue mane. Could it be? Is that my? The Changeling thought to himself as he slowed down, and he walked towards the mares that wielded the Elements of Harmony. He didn't know why but time seem to have frozen as kept getting closer and closer. All the mares and drake, Rainbow, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Rarity, and Spike turned to face the Changeling that was slowly approaching them. Spike smiled at the bug creature as he walked towards him. When Spike was close enough, he held out his claw, and asked, "Are you ready for your surprise?" The Changeling didn't respond right away, he felt very nervous with the eyes just staring at him. He only nodded his head up and down, as a response to Spike's question. Spike's claw was then grabbed by the Changeling's black hoof and they both walked towards the center of the commotion. When the both of them came into view of a huge Changeling, the Changeling that held Spike's claw let go of him and Spike stood behind as the Changeling walked closer to his surprise. "Mommy..." The Changeling said, as he walked slowly towards to the huge Changeling in front of him. The huge Changeling looked down and saw one of her sons looking up at her. "047... My child... How fare you well?" The huge Changeling said, her voice cracking. "Mommy!!" The Changeling called 047, squealed out in excitement as he embraced his long lost queen/mother. Fresh warm tears began to leak out from both Changelings as they embraced each other. Not one to get involved but Spike walked up to the Changeling Queen and embraced her as well. Rainbow, Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity all did the same thing. It was a good moment, that is until somepony was knocking on Twilight's door. Who could be coming to the library this late? Twilight thought to herself as she had to let go of the embrace and answered her door. When she opened the door, she saw her friend Fluttershy pawing at the snowy ground with her hoof. "Umm I'm sorry if I'm late for the party Twilight." Fluttershy squeaked out, looking at her friend from behind her mane. "Actually your just on time Fluttershy." Twilight said, comforting her friend. "Oh... then may I come in?" Fluttershy asked, shivering from the cold air. "Of course you can." Twilight said, stepping aside to let her shy friend in. Fluttershy took the gesture and walked into the library unaware that two Changelings are in Twilight's library. So when the shy pegasus walked into the next room, she saw the two Changelings, and her friends embracing each other. Fluttershy saw the sweet sight and she joined them. Twilight soon rejoined the hug fest and everything was perfect. The hug fest continued for several minutes, no pony wanted to let go of each other. Well Spike released himself from the hug and he began to fidget with his thumbs a little bit. He shouldn't be this nervous for what he was about to do. But he felt nervous anyway, he waited until everypony was done. Just as fate would have called, the hug fest had ended and Spike walked towards the Changeling Queen. The Changeling called 047, had blocked Spike from doing anything to his mother. "It's okay 047. I promise you I will not harm your mother." Spike said, trying to make Changeling relax a little bit. When spike's words didn't reach Changeling 047, his mother spoke to him, "It' okay my son. Soon we will have the love we have been searching for." Changeling 047 looked up at his mother, he saw that she had a glimmer in her poison green eyes. He then stepped aside and let Spike continue to walk towards his mother. "Chrysalis...." Spike began, blushing. "Yes young drake...." The Changeling Queen said, looking down at the drake. "Will you be part of the herd I made?" Spike finished, closing his eyes tightly as he awaited his answer. The Changeling Queen had tears of joy running down her face, finally she could be part of something much more than she wanted. So she embraced Spike in a hug and said, "Yes." So on this Heart's Warming Eve, love had been found. Everypony was happy as they could be. And all the mares in the room began to kiss Spike and Changeling 047 all round their faces as they tried to fight back. But for Changeling 047 and his mother Queen Chrysalis, this is only the beginning. The End
