It was nearly midnight, and the stars above had just started to shine bright over Ponyville. Twilight had just come back to her treehouse from late evening flight training with Rainbow Dash.
Twilight wanted to learn as much as she could about being involved, her new status as princess giving her a fresh sense of purpose, and her friends were more than happy to help. She never passed up a chance to learn herbs from Flutter Shy, or strength training(or rather, apple bucking) from Applejack, but most importantly her flight lessons from Rainbow Dash.
I'll be the best pony I can be for the sake of Equestria! Was what she was constantly thinking, keeping her motivated to learn all she could.
But that's not all she was thinking about today, because today her and Rainbow Dash had just done something that Twilight would never be able to stop thinking about.
Afraid and confused, Twilight rushed into her house dripping in sweat still trying to comprehend what's happened.
"Spike, Spike, oh by Celestia's grace where are you?!" She called desperately.
"I'm right here Twilight, whats wrong, do we need to use the elements of harmony again?" Spike said as he emerged from the kitchen with much curiosity.
"No Spike," said Twilight, "it's much worse than that, much MUCH worse!"
Twilight started going back and forth, pacing in panic trying to find an explanation for why this was happening to her of all ponies.
"But Twilight," Spike started, "What could be worst then having to use the elements?"
Twilight stopped suddenly, the very fear of what's happened still haunting her. "It's Rainbow Dash, Spike. Something horrible has happened and I don't know what to do..."
"WHAT!?" Spike shouted in horror, "Is Rainbow Dash in trouble?? What happened?? Should I go get every pony?!" He asked frantically, rushing to the door.
"NO!" Twilight shouted, "That's a terrible idea! Telling every pony would only make things worse!" She yelled, covering the door to prevent him from leaving.
"But Twilight, what about Rainbow Dash? Shouldn't every pony know whats going on?" He asked confused.
"NO! Everything I'm about to tell you must be kept between us, AM I CLEAR?" Twilight directed.
Spike, although confused, sits down and gets in a criss-cross position.
"Y-yes Twilight, but why?" He asked both a little worried and intimidated.
Twilight takes a breath, then with a horrified face shouts, "BECAUSE RAINBOW DASH KISSED ME!"
"... Is that all, Twilight..?" Spike says while trying not to laugh.
"Is that ALL?!" Twilight replies while going up stairs to her bedroom, "She kissed me Spike, don't you see how bad this is??"
"No," Spike says while laughing aloud, "I'm sure it was just an accident. I mean do you really think Rainbow Dash would kiss you?" He asked hypothetically.
"Spike," Twilight started after reaching her bedroom door, "She looked me IN THE EYES, SAID SHE LOVED ME, THEN KISSED ME!"
"Really..?" said a mysterious voice.
As Twilight and Spike stopped talking in surprise, Twilight quickly opened the door and turned on the light. "WHO'S THERE?" Twilight howled, surprised.
"You shouldn't mess with us, I'm an all-powerful dragon!" Spike declared while clinging onto Twilight's back like a frightened child.
"Please Spike, your nothing more than a baby dragon that couldn't even hurt a fly!" said the familiar blue unicorn.
She stood over Twilight's bed striking a pose of self inclined pride and narcissism. It didn't take long before the talented purple mare realized who was standing over her.
"Trixie?" Twilight started, "What are you doing here... AND WHY ARE YOU IN MY BED?!" She yelled, annoyed by her appearance.
"Oh, well I was working on a new spell that I was going to use to show every pony who's really the most powerful pony in Ponyville, when Snips and Snails walked in and shifted my focus," She said, a bit annoyed, "Long story short, the spell back-fired and destroyed my house. So I came here to beat you down before leaving town again. But enough about me, whats this I hear about you and Rainbow Dash?"
"Nothing, now get outta my bed." Twilight demanded.
"But Twilight, whats wrong with me being in your bed? Better me than Rainbow Dash, right?" Trixie laughed.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Twilight said, peeved.
"Oh nothing, my dear Twilight." She said, condescendingly.
Trixie gets up and right in Twilight's face. "Just that I know you and Rainbow Dash's little secret." She said, fiendishly.
"I never said It was a secret." She argued.
"So you don't mind if I go tell every pony in town?" She challenged.
Without another word, Trixie starts going for the stairs.
Wait, Twilight pleads, "Please don't tell any pony!"
"Oh and why should I listen to you? You've been nothing but rude to me since I got here! And besides, you don't have anything to offer besides your tears." She said, angry.
"B-but I-I just-" Twilight stammers as she starts to cry.
Trixie scoffs at her, and heads for the door, but Spike stops her. "Wait! We do have something you need."
"And what's that?" Trixie asked, expecting.
"We have a house for you to sleep in." He proposes.
"Well I do need a place to stay for awhile..." She began pondering, before turning her head to the sobbing mare, "...O.K, Twilight. If you do what ever I say and let me stay here, then I wont tell a soul, agreed?" She offered.
Twilight jumped up and hugged Trixie in a burst of happiness. "OH THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I'll do what ever you say!" Twilight squealed relieved.
"Good. Now start by getting off me." She said, disgusted.
"I'll be taking your bed from now on," She says lying down in Twilight's bed.
"Now I want you to leave me so I can sleep in peace....And if Snips and Snails asks, I'm not here." She said, shuddering slightly before falling asleep.
"O.K, alright, anything you say..." Twilight whispered.
Leaving Trixie to sleep, Twilight quietly grabs a spare futon out of her closet and heads downstairs with Spike to ready herself for bed when she whispers, "That was close."
"Yeah, if I hadn't had convinced Trixie to stay here in exchange for keeping that secret I don't know what you'd do." Spike said as he nestled in the futon Twilight had place and remembering he'd forgotten his basket upstairs with Trixie.
"Yes, but we're still not out of the Everfree forest yet, Spike," She warned trying forcefully to get comfortable in the futon, "I have to worry about if Trixie can really keep it a secret." Twilight said nervously.
"But why wouldn't she keep it a secret?" He asked.
"BECAUSE SHE'S TRIXIE! She's conceited, deceiving, troublesome, and most importantly BECAUSE SHE'S TRIXIE!" Twilight shouted as loud as whispering would allow her.
Spike, too tired to continue the conversation, lays his head down on the futon, ready to sleep; However, Twilight's writhing back and forth began making spike uneasy. He let out a huge sigh.
"As long as you do what ever she says everything should be fine." Spike said slightly annoyed.
"But I don't wanna do what ever she says! What if she makes me do something disgusting or mean?!" Twilight retorted. "I mean seriously, what if I end up being chased out of Ponyvill or worse, chased by my friends?"
"Well that's a chance you'll have to take. Now go to sleep, you have to get up early for more flight training with Rainbow Dash." Spike said like a daunting parent.
Both Spike and Twilight stopped as if they are frozen, thinking about what'll happen when Twilight goes to meet Rainbow Dash again tomorrow.
"OH-NO OH-NO OH-NO OH-NO OH-NO." Twilight burst out rambling in a state of confusion and panic.
"Don't freak out Twilight, you can handle this." Spike said trying to calm her down.
"But but but..." Twilight began to protest.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to figure something out by the time you see Rainbow Dash tomorrow." Spike reassured.
"Y-yeah, your right Spike, I'm sure everything will be O.K." She said, trying to convince herself.
Spike rolled over trying to end the conversation, "Good, now go to sleep."
Twilight lays down, getting nice and cozy before yawns softly, "Goodnight, Spike.." She says more relaxed, now.
"Whatever, goodnight Twilight." Spike says as he drifts off to sleep.
Author's Note
I am really sorry for how late this came out. I make no excuses, Please enjoy.
Morning Full Of Memories
The treehouse was all but silent aside from Twilight's constant cries for help in her sleep. The sun still hid behind the horizon… barely, its light scraping against the fading night sky. Twilight rustled endlessly in her sleep, Spike, out like a light yet still awoken with each of his Purple caretakers outburst.
"Please don't!" Twilight, woke up screaming. Panting heavily, covered in a cold sweat.
"Now what?" Spike, snarls. "Wait don't tell me, was it another nightmare about dash?"
Twilight, sat up hugging herself tightly and Mumbled, "Yes…"
Spike, sighed. "Look Twilight, this is like the tenth time you've woke up. The suns gonna come up soon and neither one of us has had more than an hour of sleep. "You have another flight session with her today and you need to be awake for it."
"I know." She responded, "But what if she tries to kiss me again?"
Spike yawning and falling steadily back to sleep laid his head back down and said, "Then deal with it then. I'm sure this was all just a big misunderstanding."
Almost convinced Twilight, followed suit laying herself besides her little purple dragon assistant. She closed her eyes thinking back on what had happened the day before.

She and Rainbowdash, had just finished their training session for the day. While Twilight, landed on the ground out of breath and covered in sweat from in exhausting last lap around Ponyvile her blue coated coach only hovered in place, wide smile on her face and excitement in her voice.
"That was AWSOME!" Rainbowdash shouted hugging Twilight who in return tensed up from her sore wings.
'You're getting better and better!"
"Ow!" She said pain struck. "Could you please stop touching me, everything hurts right now."
She released twilight from her grasp almost as quickly as she had formed it. "Sorry about that." She apologized. "I guess that last trip around was a bit to much for you."
Twilight, began to walk towards the back of her cottage in a cycle of stretching her wings out then tucking them back in an attempted to gain comfort. Rainbowdash followed her asking why she was headed back home when they still had about another half hour of flight training. While she usually comes off as relaxed and care free, nothing was more serious to her than flying, and after the last week of constant practice Twilight knew just how much.
"Because," Said Twilight, "Last time you overworked me I had to all but crawl home, so this time we're going to stay as close as possible to my house. I even had spike set up a couple chairs, a table, and Ice Tea for us to enjoy in the shade while we take a much needed break."
She didn't ask anymore question seemingly pacified by her last response. Twilight did however notice she wanted to say something. "If you're wondering I already invited Pinkie and asked her to bring the others if they could make it."
Rainbowdash jumped a little from the fact that her friend was able to read her so easily. Everyday the past week, some of their other friends would stop by after the session had finished and they would all get a drink, talk, and hang out a bit before going their separate ways, and Rainbowdash wanted to keep it this way.
When they were finally close enough to her cottage they saw what a great job Spike, had done. Everything was placed almost perfectly, in the center of the area was a round table with a checkered sheet atop it. On the table stood a recently filled pitcher of Iced Tea with ice cubes and seven empty glasses. For chairs he had used some old stoles he found in the cottage, and the entire area surrounding them had been swept clean of fallen leaves. And to add a cherry on top, the whole thing was shaded by Twilights, own house as if being protected from the heat of the summer sun.
"Wow," Rainbowdash gasped impressed. "Spike, did all this?"
Twilight, pulled out a chair grabbed the pitcher and began to pour their glasses. "Of course he did. When I told him Rarity might show up he pretty much begged to do it."
Dash took her drink from Twilight and hovered down into her seat laughing. "Spike is to good for her."
They sat and talked a bit about Twilight's flying and how she's getting better, then joked about how long it'll take for Spike to finally bang rarity. As the conversation started to die down, the topic of interest turned to a more personal point.
"Can I ask you a question?" The purple mare looked at Rainbowdash, steel in her eyes.
"Uh… Sure Twilight," She responded. "Whats up?"
"Why aren't you dating anypony?" she said blunt, body as still as stone and face slowly turning red.
"What?" Rainbowdash, asked frozen and confused.
Twilight, continued speaking holding firm. "I mean everyone else has a special somepony… Sort of. Rarity and Spike have grown close, Pinkie is seen with someone new every week, Applejack's been going on blind dates for a while now, and theirs a rumor that Fluttershy is masochist."
Rainbowdash was speechless, her mind now cluttered with thoughts of whys and hows. "What makes her think i'm not dating anypony, why is she bringing this up now, when did Flutter start being a masochist, a-and how is SPIKE getting more tail then me!?"
"It's ok if you don't want to answer." Said Twilight, bringing her friend out of her haze. "I know how many stallions throw themselves at you, so I was just wondering why you haven't been seen with anypony."
She was reluctant to answer, and had no real answer to give her friend. She was still trying to find an answer for her own questions. "It's not that I don't want to date anyone, its just that…" She became quite, sweat forming just above her brow from the effort to say anything at all.
"It's ok to tell me" She reassured her friend.
Rainbowdash took a deep breath relaxing herself. "None of them are my type."
Her eyes grew wide, surprise appearing on Twilight's face. "But I thought your type was manly and muscular."
"No thats Flutter's type." She said feeling slightly more confident now knowing Twilight, couldn't read her completely. "My type is uh, the smart, cute ones."
Twilight wasn't very surprised, stunned a little, but not surprised. "Thats… a little out of character for you. But I think I understand."
"You do?" She asked not understanding her.
She smiled wide nodding her head. Of course. We just need yo find you a stallion more on the sensitive side."
Rainbowdash tried to say something but couldn't. Twilight laughed at her inability to speak, then stopped when she realized her friend wasn't laughing.
"Whats wrong?" She asked her multi-maned friend trying to retreat into her shell.
Rainbowdash, sighed then took a deep breath preparing to confuse what was on her mind. "The thing is… I don't really like stallions all that much."
Twilight, froze. She didn't know how to deal with what she'd just heard. Her friend had just come out of the closet and was now trusting her to do something. But she didn't know what. Rainbowdash was closing herself off more and more with each unresponsive action from Twilight and if she didn't do something, anything, then she could lose her for good.
"Then we just have to find you a nice mare you could date." She finally said leaning in closer to Rainbowdash.
The pegasus dropped her hooves from her face bursting out in panic then stoping in confusion, "I knew you would- What?"
"Lets. Find. You. A. Date." Twilight smiled reassuring her friend. "I don't care what you like, you're my friend and I love you so lets-."
Before she could finish her lips were stopped by the feel of lips pressing against her own. Rainbowdash had done it. She kissed another mare, a hidden goal she long burned for.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Twilight shouted pushing her away.
"I was kissing you." She responded, trying to reenact her last action. "I love you, don't you feel the same?"
Before she could speak she was once again assaulted by lips pressed against her own. Twilight pulled away, not as quick as before but still fast. Rainbowdash's face hung sad, hoping she hadn't made a mistake.
Twilight stood up, words fumbling out trying to form some way of comprehension. "I'm sorry I-I just, I-,"
"Are you ok Twilight?" She said reaching her hand out.
"Practice is over for today" She said quickly running anywhere els but here.
The rest of the day was just as bad. Twilight knew her friends were all going to be at her treehouse having their get together so she couldn't go home until she knew they were gone. She spent the rest of the day ducking and diving anyone she recognized. She didn't want to be around anyone but spike until she could make everything make since again. When the stars began to show she made a break for her house, Sprinting non stop like a runaway train forgetting she had wings. Twilight opened the door with her magic and closed it behind her the moment she made it past the doorway.

"What am I suppose to do?" Twilight asked herself falling back to sleep.
