The Legend of Dean Fender: the Greatest Guitar Player in Equestria
I never thought that any of this would ever happen. That what would occur would go beyond my wildest dreams and that the impossible would become possible. I had no idea what would lay ahead, for my life was about to change forever.
I live a dull, normal life with little excitement. I live in a cosmopolitan city with lots of people where sometimes, something interesting happens. However, for the most part, the days become very monotonous. I am a sophomore in high school with a few friends that I have known since birth. We have grown up together and have been friends for as long as I can remember. Other than these friends who keep me company, I can barely handle school. I make ok grades but I can barely stand going to school. The days start to run together to the point where I can barely tell them apart.
I have a few hobbies and interests that I do in my spare time. Sometimes I like to work out and lift weights but not very often. One of my other interests is I like to play the guitar. I have played for a few years and gotten decent but the problem is no one wants to hear my music. I love to listen and play metal music such as Metallica and Megadeth but no one else wants to. Whenever I play my music for anyone whether its my parents or my friends, they think I'm weird or laugh at me because they think that my sound is so terrible. If I play a few chords for them they think I'm really good but if I play an unbelievable guitar solo weather its original or its a cover of a famous metal guitarist, they tell me that I'm a bad guitarist or that I don't have any talent. I feel like sometimes the reason that I play the guitar so much is so I can become really good in hopes of becoming famous just to prove all of them wrong.
I am actually in a band with the friends that I mentioned earlier. One plays drums, one plays bass, one plays lead guitar and sings, but I am stuck with just rhythm guitar. We play some soft rock or jazz music and the fact that I primarily like to play metal music makes them think that I am a terrible guitarist and that I should play rhythm guitar. Another thing is that I also have an amazing and natural ability for singing metal music. Unfortunately, they don't want to listen to me sing or play some metal music because they think that I will be terrible along with the fact that no one else wants to listen to metal guitar or vocals. I hope that someday, someone will recognize my talent and I can play lead guitar and sing in a metal band.
If I'm not playing the guitar or singing then I am probably watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I am a huge fan of the show and definitely consider myself a huge brony. Despite the fact that I am a huge fan of the show, no one else knows about it. I am a closet brony and don't want to tell any of my friends or family because they are very judgmental and I know that they will not accept me for who I am. I love the show because I feel like it fills the gaps in my life. Its vibrant colors and morals about friendship are very comforting if I'm having a bad day and it helps me stay sane.
Since I am a brony, I have a folder on my computer that is full of pictures of ponies. there are pictures of the mane 6, background ponies, and a few original characters that I came up with. The folder is very hard to find and is named a bunch of random symbols so it would be very hard to pull up.
One day, when I was at school just like any other day, for some reason I noticed that my friends were laughing at me. I asked them why they were laughing about me and the response that I got caused my heart to sink. "I can't believe that you're a brony!"

I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe that they were able to find out somehow. At first I tried denying it by saying things like "I've been friends with you guys my whole life; I'm obviously not a brony." However they didn't buy it and I eventually said "why do you think I'm a brony." It turns out that I accidentally left the folder open on my computer and when one of my friends wanted to look something up, they immediately saw everything: the mane 6, the background ponies, and all of the original characters that I had created. I sighed and admitted "you guys got me; I am a brony." I was so embarrassed. I couldn't believe that all my friends had found out about my secret. I then asked them very worriedly "what do you guys think about all of this." I will never forget what my best friend then said after I asked that question on that day. "We think that you're a faggot" and then they all left me.
I had never felt so alone. All of my lifelong friends were gone in less than a minute. I felt so lonely because I had just gone from having a good group of friends to being all by myself. I couldn't handle it. It was all to much for me. I immediately crumpled like a coat and cried.
I went home that day to my family who I assumed would not have or would ever hear about my obsession. I was wrong. When I walked in the door they saw me and immediately started laughing at me. They thought I was weird and creepy and would never be able to function properly. I asked them how they found out and they said that they had heard it from one of my ex-friends parents.
This was devastating so I did what I always do when I am sad, lonely, or depressed; I played the guitar. I played sad songs and songs filled with hatred and rage to try to express my emotions through music. Afterwards I did something that I had never done. I watched My Little Pony and drank. I turned it on and grabbed myself a bottle of vodka from my dad's liquor cabinet. I was so depressed and unhappy so I just drank it straight from the bottle while I watched those six ponies go on adventures. What I didn't realize is how much I had been drinking. I soon realized that I gone from a full bottle to one that more than halfway empty. I had probably had the equivalent to 20 shots of strong alcohol. I had drank all of it all by myself. I then knew I was going to need to vomit. I ran straight to the toilet and started throwing up. I barely made it to the bathroom because my vision was so blurry. That was the last thing that I remembered from that night before passing out on the bathroom floor.
I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. I had never been drunk before and didn't realize how bad a hangover is. I must say that it was definitely the worst headache I had ever had in my life. After I got over it, I realized that something was different. I looked around at my surroundings and saw that they looked somewhat familiar but I couldn't help but think "I don't ever remember being here." I started to fall asleep again. I remember seeing a pink pony with a cotton candy scented mane run up to me right before losing consciousness.

I woke up to see what appeared to be Pinkie Pie staring at me and I also appeared to be in the middle of a street. I asked her "where am I?" Then to my surprise she replied "you're in ponyville silly! I don't think I've ever seen you before so I'm going to do what I do for any new pony to ponyville and throw you a party!" Then I realized why the street looked so familiar. I had somehow ended up in the middle of ponyville! She started running away when I remembered that she had said that I'm a pony. I shouted "wait I'm not a pony, am I?" She replied "of course you are silly!" before trotting away.
I stood up and looked down and to my surprise, I had hooves! This was incredible! And I still didn't know how I had ended up here! My body was a shade of tan and then I noticed my tail and mane. I had a dark brown tail and mane and both were extremely long just like the hair of an 80s rock star. It was I nice touch considering the type of music I liked and played. I looked back and saw that I had wings. I couldn't believe that I was a pegasus! I then felt my ears and noticed that they came to a point like an arrowhead. And then I noticed something unusual. I felt a horn on my forehead. I was not a pegasus; I was a alicorn! I thought that only a princess could be an alicorn but I was wrong. I looked at my flank and saw my cutie mark. It was a master of puppets signature dean guitar. I knew that guitar and heavy metal would probably be my special talent.
I went to sugarcube corner hoping to find pinkie pie but when I showed up, I saw her party cannon go off and all of the ponies in town yell "surprise!" I knew that it was coming because Pinkie Pie told me about it when I first saw her but I pretended to act surprised. The first thing that they asked me was "What is your name?" I had to come up with a name quickly because pony names are different than human names. I thought about different names I could use. Then I thought of my two favorite guitar brands. I said "my name is Dean Fender."
The party was incredible! I hadn't had that much fun in a while and I got to talk to a lot of the ponies. Most of them asked me where I was from but since it would be hard to explain to them, I just said that I was from Manehattan. Of course Rarity went on a rant about the sophistication and fashion there and almost fainted. Another thing that a lot of them noticed and asked me about was the fact that I was an alicorn. I had absolutely no idea why I was one and didn't think that I'd ever find out why. All I said was "My father was a unicorn and my mother was a pegasus so I just got lucky." Surprisingly, they all bought it and never questioned me again.
After the party, I decided to take a look around ponyville and possibly look for a music shop because I knew that they had instruments and I figured that they might have guitars. I looked around and got lucky when I found a music shop about a block away. I went inside and said that I was looking for a guitar. The shop owner responded "what type of guitar do you want?" I said "I'm not sure; some type of electric guitar." Then something I hadn't thought of occurred to me. How was I going to hold the pick and push down the frets?
He handed me a typical guitar and amp except they didn't have brands such as Fender, Gibson, Jackson, or Dean. When I got the guitar there was actually a device that went around my hoof allowing me to hold the pick and the strings were unbelievebly close to the neck making it possible to play. I plugged in the amp and started playing but I noticed something. The guitar was a Flying V shape and it was as if it was made for metal, but there was no distortion. It turns out that guitars here were obsolete and it was as if the generations of music went from 50s to 60s and then all the way to the 2000s. I knew that there was 2000s music because I had heard dubstep from Vinyl Scratch. The shop owner said "if you want that guitar it's 1500 bits." I ignored him and decided to get distortion the only way I could; turn the amp all the way up. I started shredding and playing an amazing guitar solo. The owner was so dumbfounded that he let me go with the guitar, amp, and pick for free because he felt like that I had a unique way of playing guitar since none of the ponies had ever heard distortion or much less heavy metal. Before leaving, I asked the shop owner "do you know of any bands that are looking for a guitarist or singer?" He said "I don't know, you will have to talk to the only two musicians in town." Before I knew it I was on my way to Vinyl and Octavia's house.
