Sweat stained his brow. Blood dripped from his fists and chest. His eyes narrowed and arms reached behind him, and pulled out red gauntlets with a gold trim. The Gauntlets of Jason were certainly not the strongest weapon, but he knew for certain that they worked. The countless faces, heads, and backs broken were enough proof this, but yet they still yearned for more.
Zeus, the God he made a blood oath with, favored this mortal, this human, and today he would prove his worth. After brutally murdering his last opponent, Narcissus stood proudly at the Rotunda where all the Gods' Statues looked down at the impressive mortal.
"My boy," Zeus boomed, "you fill Olympus with great pride, honor, and best of all, courage. Here, you will face the strongest warrior ever to come in to the Halls of Olympus and dine with Gods."
A man in silver-blue armor fell from the sky in front of Zeus' Statue, and pulled his sword out at Narcissus. Narcissus knew well the Sentry, the stories of how he killed countless men, and no matter how hard they fought they couldn't kill him. One came close though. The Warrior was the name he went by, believed that he had knocked the Sentry off the Rotunda, only to be literally stabbed in the back by him. The Warrior fell to his knees and cried out before going limp on his blade.
Narcissus snarled at the Sentry and he only laughed back. "The newest champion wishes to fight me, with THOSE weaklings gauntlets? Ha! You bring nothing but failure to Olympus if you wish to defeat me!" He mocked and chided the champion. It's true, the gauntlets he wore were weak, and they only got a power boost when he performed "Argo's Rise", but they still helped when it came to defense. His father always told him: "The only thing stronger than a warriors offense, is his defense." And right he was. Using the abilities given to him by Zeus and the Gauntlets, the champion had won many battles.
The Sands were about to fall, and Zeus counted them.
"Six..."
Narcissus' got into a battle position snarling at the Sentry again.
"Five..."
The Sentry only laughed at his feeble attempt of being stronger. If he really was, why was he not in his spot and the Sentry in his?
"Four... Three... Two... One!"
Twilight Sparkle, unicorn of extreme prowess, skill, and one of the most powerful. Today was a day that she thought was going to be perfect. She had everything settled in after her ascension and fixed the Everfree along with making her and her closest friends making a personal diary/journal. Her wings flared out as she took to the skies, enjoying the fresh air and the cool breeze blowing past her, she thought this day couldn't get worse.
After all, why should it? The birds sang, the garden was filled with younger fillies and colts. She sighed a breath of happiness before perching herself on the very top of Canterlot Castle.
"I can see why Rainbow enjoys sleeping," she said with a smile, "It's so relaxing. Nothing to bother you, nothing to annoy you, and nothing to worry about."
"Twilight!" a young masculine voice called out, "Twilight! Where are you?! The Princess needs you right now!"
"Except for the fact that I'm a princess now and anything and everything I do is of the utmost importance. Thanks, Spike" Twilight said as she huffed away a strand of hair and jumped from the roof opening her wings and landing next to her little reptilian friend and faithful assist, Spike.
Spike jumped and screamed before calming down then panicked again. "Celestia needs your help! It's Discord, he's reposing?" Spike said unsure about the last word.
"Reposing... Relapsing! Oh no! Oh nonononononono!" Twilight quickly scooped up Spike, the both flew into the throne room were the screams of the draconequus then a sudden thump, like someone or something just fell. Twilight opened the door to see Discord, at least two times his normal height, throwing objects at random towards Celestia and Luna.
"Go away! Leave me be!" Discord yelled, still attacking. I only want to be alone! Please, I beg of you leave me be!" He snapped his fingers but yet nothing happened. He slammed his head on the wall, blood spurted from it, leaving a large crimson mark on the ground and the wall.
"Celestia! Luna! What's happening? Why is Discord like this?" Twilight asked fearing the worse that he really was relapsing. Celestia opened her mouth to the say something but was cut off by Discord's scream of pain.
"Tia, the pain! Make it stop, Tia!" Discord begged, tears pouring from his eyes before he suddenly jerked to the side.
"No you fool! This is my body and my body alone!" A voice unlike his own screamed. Twilight, Luna, and Celestia looked with concern and shock that something trying to possess the God of Chaos. Twilight let the fear of relapsing go only to hold onto the fear what was taking over Discord.
Narcissus rolled on the marble ground, coughing blood as he tried to stand. The Sentry of Olympus laughed at his petty attempts, though he had to give him credit for getting him a few times. The Gauntlets of Jason were something he was familiar with, although, the way he used them were unfamiliar. When ever he went for a heavy strike, he would stop on the first hit then follow it with two light hits then used "Argo's Return" to shoot him in the air, then bring him down to knock him away again.
What kind of style was this?
Narcissus stood on his feet and coughed more blood onto the beautiful marble floor. He ran towards a green orb fountain only to be stopped by the Sentry who threw him down and kicked him away from it. He stood up again, bloodied and broken, but that did not stop him. He quickly wiped out a chalice full of Ambrosia, but it was knocked away and he was knocked onto his knees.
"You fail the Gods!" The Sentry roared and stabbed him through the chest and stopped when his blade hit the ground. As the Sentry began to pull out the sword, something happened that he never expected: Narcissus grabbed the blade and stopped it from going any farther. "What?! How are you not dead!"
He coughed up more blood before smiling up at the Sentry, "Because I have one weapon, one ability that you don't..." He said wiping around with the blade still in his chest, slammed the Sentry to the ground and yanked the blade from his back. "I have been in the Fires of Ares! I have stolen the Souls for Hades! I have froze my enemies with Ice of Poseidon! And I will make you taste Divine Retribution!"
His body began spark with yellow lightning, sucking the Sentry towards him before he slammed down with an electrical force so powerful, Zeus from high on his throne smiled down at the mortal he was proud to be called "Zeus' Champion". The Sentry fell, burned and scorched before turning into a black cloud of ashes that blew away.
"Victory! You bring Honor to the Name Zeus!" The God king said triumphantly. He had done it, he killed the Sentry and now he took his place...
But even he knew all good things come to an end.
Taking the sword of the Sentry he looked at the Gods' Statues. "I... am honored to be your sentry," He said. He swore he saw Zeus' Statue smile. "But... I cannot except this, for I will die in only a matter of minutes, if not seconds." He finished by coughing up more blood. His hands shook, his legs quivered, and what's left of chest shook as well. Stabbing the blade into the Rotunda, he limped his way to the edge of the Rotunda. He looked down at the mist below him, before his vision went black and he fell from the tallest mountain in all of Greece.
Discord stopped abruptly, his eyes widened and his hands were shake-y. He fell to his knees and lurched, throwing up a black goop that disgusted all three Princesses. Discord shifting through the black mass only made it worse. His eyes widened and yanked on what appeared to be a chain, connected to it a large red hand and forearm. He began pulling it at an alarming rate, a few times even grabbing his own arms by mistake. He gasped at what he saw, then threw something to the other side of him.
He pointed at it, the pale skinned creature that was covered in a strange type of armor and on his arm, a big red fist with gold trimmings. Discord stood up, no longer wobbly or screaming.
"Celestia," he said with an even voice, "Kill it..."
