"HIT THE DECK!!*CRASH*"...I wake up to see a dead Pegasus on the floor, a hole straight through his chest. "What the hell?!" the stallion says as he looks out the window to see another window 4 feet away from his.
'Airship..shit.' he thought as he ran to his quarters door and swung it open to see yet another body fly past him. This time it was a unicorn. He see pony's fighting on the deck and cannons firing.
He started to run up to the wheel when a Pegasus fly's right at him. He barely dodge the Pegasus' s attack as it comes back around.
the stallion buck it straight in the stomach as it fly' s past him.
"CAPTAIN SHADE YOU FINELY JOINED USE!" he turns to see a mare run up and slice a stallion in its stomach. "Ah, Lieutenant Sunlance," Shade says as he grab the wheel, "whats happened? Why is another airship attacking us?". "Pirates, sir, lots of 'um!"
Sunlance snatched a clockwork pistol off the ground with her magic and started to fire "Sir, I suggest getting us out of here before they blow us to pieces!". "Right"
Shade turn the wheel and took full speed, "All Dreamsword members, aboard the airship NOW!" as Shade yelled this a cannon fired at him, hitting the ground beneath him and sending him flying off the ship.
"SHADE!!!" Sunlance looked over to see a black streak fly straight past her. "I'm alright!" Shade turned to reveal that he had to black feathered wings.
"Hey look" one of the crew members had noticed that the pirate airship had started to retreat. Shade noticed and land back on board. One of his men ran up to him, "shall we follow em' sir?" "No let them go, we don't have time to play chase." Shade went back to the wheel and raised his sword. "Looks like victory is ours men!" Shade yelled as he steered home.
Shades crew celebrated, Sunlance glanced over at Shade to see a troubled look. "Captain, you should be celebrating, we won the battle." Shade looked over to Sunlance, "Yes I know..Its just, I have been wandering why those pirate retreated, they could have killed everypony on this ship."
"Well don't let it get to ya' " Sunlance smirked at Shade, "I' m sure they were just being cowards ha ha!"
Sunlance walked down the to the deck to celebrate while Shade steered the ship to Canterlot.
The Pirates Ship...
"Tell me!" the pirate smacked the crew member from Shades crew, "Where is that ship heading!"
The crew member looked terrified, "OK OK! ITS GOING TO CANTERLOT!"
The pirate smiled menacingly, "Tell the captain the captive spilled the beans." the seconded pirate was about to leave when the interrogator interrupted,"Also, tell him, he may want to ready the weapon we found." the pirate looked back at the guard and smirked as he pulled out his sword and slit the captives throat.
The Dreamsword: 3 Hours Later...
Shade took another swig of his cider, dripping some of it onto his black fur. "Damn, spilled some." Shade went to the bathroom and grab'd a towel, looked in the mirror and washed himself off. "Ugh, I think I drank to much," "You always do."
Sunlance had walk in "You should cut back a little, you look like crap." Shade turned to Sunlance, "gee thanks," Shade said sarcastically as he finished washing up. Sunlance walked up and put a hoof on his back, "You ok captain? You look troubled."
"You don't have to use formality in a celebration, and yes I'm okay don't worry." Shade had walk out of the bathroom and back into the lower deck. "I just want to know your okay cap..Shade I mean," Shade finished his drink and turned to Sunlance, "I'm going back to my quarters, I'll see you in the morning." "Okay, Goodnight Shade." "Night Sunlance." Shade left the lower deck leaving Sunlance to her thoughts.
'Shade was acting a bit more strange then usual, hes usually happy and cheerful' Sunlance order a round of cider to help her think, 'I wander if something happened during the battle with the pirates, did he lose something during the fight, maybe a bad dream? No that's stupid, I'll just talk to him in the morning' Sunlance drank the rest of her cider and headed back to her room.
When Sunlance left, the lower deck began to empty. The last pony in there sat by himself, drinking his cider.
He thought a bit, then scanned the room for anypony still there. When he saw nopony here, he place an object down on the cider barrel. The object was glowing golden lights and was the size of about a hoof, and after 3 minutes, a blinding white light shined from the object. When the light dimmed and cleared, the object was no longer there. The only thing left was a mysterious sign of two wings with an arrow through the middle.
