Deep inside Everfree Forest, an ancient creature stirred once more. The monstrous Dragon of darkness moved its way through the brushes and vegetation, any creature in its was became entangled in its darkness and transformed into a hellish nightmare. “Twilight Sparkle has fooled me, putting me asleep for ten thousand years! But I have awoken early, and I will re-claim this world as it was taken from me!” A dark portal opened up before the monster; From inside you could see hundreds of deformed monstrosities. “It is time for us to reclaim this world as our own, and we shall do so through blood!” Each and every monstrosity inside the portal rushed out and rampaged through the forest on their way to Canterlot.

All things were normal in the court of Canterlot. Celestia had been busy all morning instructing the movers where to place the stone statue of Twilight Sparkle.

“She will be missed dearly.” said a voice from behind her; It came from Sigurd, a great and powerful unicorn who was in charge of the magic arts at the Canterlot Academy for Unicorns. He placed his hoof on hers and she smiled while tears streamed down her cheek.

“She gave her life to save us from him. For that, I am forever thankful.” The movers sat the statue down and backed away from it so Princess Celestia could examine it. Her horn lit up and magic crawled all over the statue; When she finished the sun peaked over the mountain and beams of sunlight hit the statue, lighting up the plaza with magical aura. Celestia turned to walk away when the force of an unsee-able object knocked her over.

“Princess Celestia! Are you alright?” Sigurd and the royal guards rushed over to her need.

She stood up carefully with heavy breathing and said “It can't be... He has returned,”

Sigurd looked at her, bewildered “Who has returned my lady? Who!”

Princess Celestia approached the captain of the guard “Send all of your troops to the Everfree forest and stop the enemy!”

she turned back to Sigurd “The Archon has returned, and he wants revenge...” Princess Celestia fell to the ground and fainted.

Sigurd turned to the captain “Well don't just sit there!”

he waved the captain away “Yes sir” said the captain

“All royal guard troops command at the Canterlot gates for an important mission! We are to stop the enemy from entering Canterlot Castle and doing harm to Princess Celestia!” Hundreds of guards hustled out from the barracks and mess hall, rushing to the Canterlot Gates. They assembled swift and awaited the command of their captain, “Onward soldier to the Everfree forest. We shall meet the enemy on their territory!” An outward cry of war followed the soldiers and they galloped onto enemy territory.

“The best we can do is hope that the royal army can stall the enemy. Information from these ancient texts reveals that the Archon is an ancient black dragon of evil origin, that seeks to overthrow Canterlot and rule Equestria as he once did eons ago before Celestia and Luna eradicated him.” Sigurd closed his textbook before the class, each unicorn was stunned to hear the turn of events. “Our job as the mages to the court is to construct an impenetrable shield around Canterlot that cannot be destroyed by the Archon and his followers. We are the only hope for the protection of Canterlot, and for the survival of the Equestrian races!” A cry of dignity and honor bellowed throughout the crowd; A magic shell around Canterlot was crafted by Sigurd, each mage began flowing all their magic energy into the dome to increase it's strength. When it was finished Sigurd sent the students to rest in their dorms. Sigurd approached the gates of Canterlot and watched the soldiers disappear into the black depths of Everfree Forests; “Godspeed” he said, and returned to his keep to watch over the gates.

Princess Celestia awoke to Sigurd's hoof on her chest, “Wake up Celestia hurry!”

Celestia suddenly awoke and grabbed Sigurd by his shoulder “What is it Sigurd? Tell me..” Sigurd opened his mouth, but not a single word came out; Instead, he fell to ground. In his back was several arrows which caused the death of him. Celestia tried to scream but before she could the door to her castle burst open and a flood of nightmarish creatures spewed inside followed by a giant black dragon.

“Ah, Princess Celestia we meet again...” the dragon approached the Princess and sniffer her body.

Princess Celestia pushed him away with her hoof “Archon! I knew it was you. Why have you returned, you know this land is not yours, it is the land of the earth ponies! You cannot have it.” Celestia attempted to use her magic on Archon, but to no avail did it work.

Archon laughed maniacally and said “This land belongs not to the earth ponies! This land belongs to me, as it once did eons ago when you and your sister first attempted to eradicate me and my creatures from here. I am here to claim what is rightfully mine, the throne to this land you call Equestria but I know as Anthor.” the dragon pressed down on Celestia's chest with his claws, expunging the air from her lungs. “Tonight will be the night when every pony learns of your mortality, as we will hang your lifeless body atop the tallest flagpole in Canterlot! They will learn that I am their rightful ruler, and I will make sure to do the same cruelty onto them as you did unto my creatures.” Celestia then remembered the spell used by Luna to vanquish Archon the first time, before she fainted she casted a small book with instructions on how to get rid of Archon. The book was thrown out into Everfree Forest. Darkness swept over Celestia as her last breathe was taken. The last thing she saw was hundreds of nightmarish creatures with hungered looks upon their faces staring at her.
