Chapter 1: Getting to Know Midnight Dash More
Chapter 1: Getting to Know Midnight Dash More
The dark blue mare had ice blue eyes and a Rainbow Dash cut. She was a brown and yellow streaked pegasus who's name was Midnight Dash. She had a secret that she'd not told anypony.
She landed on the ground, accidentally bumped into Pinkie Pie, snow flying around them.
"Hi, Midnight Dash!" said Pinkie, still bouncing around happily, shaking snow off her mane while brushing Midnight off as well.
"Hi, Pinkie...sorry...about that," apologized Midnight, snow flurries still storming around the two mares.
Rainbow Dash awoke, rubbing her magenta eyes into focus.
She yawned and brushed down her mane, then flew down to greet Pinkie as she did every morning.
She saw Midnight, her cousin, talking to Pinkie and wanted to join them...maybe ask Midnight a couple things too.
"That's okay," Pinkie said, accepting Midnight's apology. "Rainbow does it all the time!" She stuck her tongue out to catch some snow.
"Hey Rainbow!" She greeted to the cyan Pegasus.
"Hey Midnight. Hey Pinkie. Um, Midnight? Can we...talk?" asked Rainbow, flapping her wings anxiously to shake the snow off of her.
"Yeah, sure, cuz. Bye, Pinkie!" called Midnight, waving to the pink party pony.
As soon as the two mares were alone, Rainbow brought up her question: "So, Midnight. Remember when you told me you wanted to tell me something? So...what is it?" asked Rainbow coolly.
"What? I didn't say that," said Midnight, making up an excuse. She was beginning to sweat nervously and her face began to redden.
"C'mon, you can tell me anything," pushed Rainbow, now staring her cousin in her icy blue eyes.
" I--I..." Now the tears were coming to Midnight's eyes.
"It's okay. What is it?" comforted Rainbow, gently hugging her cousin.
"I'm...a...werepony," Midnight whispered, tears choking her voice.
"You...are?"
"You want...proof?" asked Midnight.
"Maybe..."
"Fine. I'll show you...in the woods,"
"Okay, but not now. How long have you known this?" asked the cyan pony.
"Since it happened."
"Which was when?" Rainbow Dash needed answers.
"A wolf bit me...about 4 years ago. I was afraid to tell anyone. Even you..." sobbed back Midnight.
"Why didn't you tell at least me?! I would've gotten Twilight to help!" yelled back Rainbow, now in a quite angry tone.
"I said I didn't want any pony to know." sniffled Midnight.
"Anything else?"
"Yes...um..."
"Say it now!" yelled Rainbow, being very insensitive to Midnight due to her furiousness and impatience.
"Alright, you asked for it...since you're on my father's side, you're a werepony, too."
"I'm a what?!"
"Werepony."
Rainbow sighed. "When were you going to tell me all of this?" muttered Rainbow, exausted.
"Well, uh...sooner?" said Midnight, scratching her head.
Rainbow facehoofed and then scratched her head, too.
"Uh...sorry?" said Midnight, sheepishly.
"Me too." They embraced in a tight hug.
As they flew to SugarCube Corner, Midnight was quite most of the way until Rainbow asked ne of the most depressing questions to Midnight:
"So, uh...where are your parents?"
"Huh?" said Midnight, acting as if she didn't hear that.
"Where are you parents?"
"Uh..."
"Well?"
Now that's when Midnight lost it-all the pressure of everything mad her anger explode:
"Why does it flippin' matter to you?!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face.
"I-I didn't mean to-"
"Yes you DID!" Midnight screamed, causing some attention to themselves.
"You caused ALL of this!" She cried once more, as she flew away.
Chapter 2: Speaking to The Trolling Mare
Chapter 2: Speaking to The Trolling Mare
As Midnight flew away, trying to get away from her cousin and her past, she bumped into her best friend and roomate, The Trolling Mare.
"Oh, hey Midnight what's going on?"
"Hide-m-me..." Midnight gasped, spotting Rainbow 300 ft. away.
"Why?"
"Rainbow Dash-chasing me..."
"Oh! Go behind me, I'm a strong mare." She joked.
Midnight shyly crouched down behind the white Pegusas, waiting for Rainbow to be distracted.
"Hey! Midnight?" called Rainbow.
'Oh, hey Rainbow!" Why are you looking for Midnight?" Asked The TM.
"I kinda made her upset..."
"Oh, well I haven't seen her!" said The TM, kicking her hind leg back, nudging Midnight.
Midnight began to zip away.
"Um...bye now?"
"Fine, bye..."
Rainbow twitched her ears.
She heard crying.
She zipped to the park, the source of the sad sound.
She spotted Midnight whimpering her eyes out, in a tree.
Midnight heard twigs crack.
She cocked her head and saw Rainbow flying next to her.
She stood up, and flinched, waiting for Rainbow to hurt her.
But instead, all she felt was a gentle hoof on her shoulder.
Midnight felt Rainbow wrap her wings around her.
Midnight gasped and store into her cousin's magenta eyes.
Rainbow gave her a soft look.
Midnight wanted to look away, and never face her horrid past and actions.
"So...where are your parents?"
"...They're...dead..."
"R-really?"
"Yeah...wanna say anything else to make me cry?" Growled Midnight.
"Midnight, I thought you knew I didn't mean it..."
"I-I...did...I just...get so...mad...for no reason..." Tears were streaming down Midnight's face.
"Do you know why?"
"Werepony..."
Now Midnight was on the ground, staring in a puddle.
Whenever she thought about all her past, her eyes turned yellow.
Rainbow saw this, and pondered Why would such a terrible thing happen to my sweet cousin?[\i]
Midnight didn't know where she belonged anymore.
Sometimes it hurts her-a lot....so much...that she cries herself to sleep at night-every night unfortunately.....
