Do, Dash, Die

Dangerous Encounter

Rainbow Dash fell fast and slammed into the ground at full speed, face first. Her body violently twisted, damn near snapping her spine, neck, and ripping apart some of her muscles, tendons, and organs. And she hit the ground on her back, bending back a wing, snapping the ligaments and tearing the muscles. The blue pegasus bounced and tumbled, carried by the violent momentum of the fall, and slammed into a large rock. She was in sheer agony. Her two broken ribs hurt like hell and threatened to dig inward and gouge two holes through her liver.

Still she merely grunted, trained throughout the years not to cry or show weakness or pain.  But just before she could get up, the other pegasus slammed into her at nearly full speed, delivering a swift kick to the head, striking her right in the face, breaking her nose and dislocating her jaw. On impact, her vision flashed white, and she saw nothing but stars and blurs. Felt like somepony just took a sledge hammer to her face.

That hurt like hell, and the pain was already unbearable for her. The other Pegasus, a vicious mare, delivered an extremely precise bone shattering kick to her other wing, instantly snapping all the bones and crippling it. Rainbow screamed in agony, partly because her wings, now both broken, were her pride. And now, the other Pegasus, stood right on top of her, hind hooves on her broken wings.

What made this so painful was that she just got the shit beat out of her by her storybook hero, Daring Do.

Rainbow raised her busted face from the ground and saw blood everywhere. Trained to fight, she instinctively planted her hooves into the dirt, desperate to throw Daring Do off of her-

Daring Do responded by delivering a lightspeed kick to Dash’s hindlegs, snapping both of them. Rainbow cried out before Daring Do bashed her head, slamming her face into the mud.

“Make another move, bitch, and I’ll rip your head off,” Daring Do threatened. Rainbow, now in a world of hurt, ceased moving. Despite having her nose buried in the mud, and the weight of Daring Do on top of her, tears began streaming from her eyes.

“Now listen to me carefully, and listen good, you runt. I don’t care who you are, and I don’t give a shit that you have the most disgusting wingboner for me,” Daring Do said, crushing her wings, causing Rainbow to cry and grunt.

“…but…I…I was... your biggest fan…” Rainbow sobbed when she could suck breaths in such pain.

Daring Do started bending back one of Rainbow’s broken wings, causing her to cry out in agony.

“Shut the buck up, before I tear this wing right out of you. If you really were my biggest fan, you’d have stayed away, and kept your snout shut! Sadly, I don’t feel the least bit same about you. In fact, you make me sick. From what I know, you are the runt of the Dash clan. They should have killed you the second you were born. How you’re still breathing is beyond me. I had high respects for your father and your family. And then you came along. You make me sick. It’s only by the grace of your father you are still alive. He had you posted to ground weather to get you out of Cloudsdale and keep the other Pegasi from tearing you apart. It’s no wonder the Wonderbolts cringe everytime you pester them! Rainbow Dash, you should have been able to beat me, and prove your worth as a Dash pegasus. I should be the one on the ground with two crippled wings for refusing your…hindrance. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't snap both your wings off?”

Rainbow could only whimper. Daring Do continued, still not releasing her broken wing.

“Exactly,” Daring Doo snarled, “A Pegasus that consorts with mud ponies is no more worth the shit that comes out of their flanks. Do you even know who I am?” Daring Do hissed in Rainbow’s ear. “I am not some superhero retarded ponies like you made me out to me. I am not some angel with a hat, nor do I fight the good fight to save the world. You see, this is my actual job. And I must answer to Pegasi far higher up the chain of command than your father, and they want results. I can’t do my job with inferior shits like you getting in the way.”

Rainbow tried not to sob. She only wanted to meet the world famous Daring Do, and be part of her adventures. She didn't bother resisting, because she knew Daring Do was a thousand times quicker and stronger than she, and having been broken like a toy by her proved that.  Daring Do continued ranting:

“Do you have any idea how many arrogant annoying “biggest fan” ponies I’ve killed throughout the years? I killed many in so many ways. Let’s see, last one I killed was about six weeks ago. I strung that mud pony bitch up by her esophagus and hung her on a tree, and when her three runt foals showed up, I dispatched them as well. Parasprites cleaned up the mess after."

Rainbow’s eyes widened with terror. Daring Do, a murderer? No way! This had to be a bad dream.

“…why? Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I know you won’t dare tell anypony. I am that popular. Not that I asked to be. You should have kept to the books, and let me remain your little hero fantasy, like all the other wise ponies do. But you had to get in the way, and now you know what I really am. Not so goody-two-hooves, am I? I’d like to teach you a lesson to mind your own business by ripping those wings off your back. But I’ll let you go, because I’m a nice mare. I should really just kill you and spare you your fate when the Pegasi finally send out for you. Here, I’ll tell you another secret: Last time I was at the Atmospheric Control Corps, I came across a database that had some files on you. You my rainbow blue friend are overdue for a one-way trip to the rainbow factory.”

Rainbow Dash’s eyes widened, her heart skipped a beat, and her blood turned to ice. She had no idea there was that kind of a death warrant hanging over her head. And for how long?

“Scared, huh? Well you should be,” Daring Do snarled with a sadistic grin. “You know, I really should kill you. You know, snap your neck, and wham! Lights out for good. But I’m going to let you live, longer than you want to. By the time they drag you into the rainbow factory, you’ll be wishing I killed you.”

Daring Doo stepped off of Rainbow Dash, who still didn't dare get up.

“A word of advice,” Daring Do continued, “If you value your pathetic lowly existence, stay the hell away from Cloudsdale, infact, don’t even leave the ground. And remember this: our little encounter never even happened.”

Daring Do felt a mild electric tingle on the tips of her wings. Her feathers slightly vibrated, and she felt a tingle in the magic within her wings. She was picking up powerful unicorn magic signals. The two of them were being picked up in a wide scanning field.

She opened her wings to get a better read on the signal. Then she took one last look at the fallen Rainbow Dash and sneered. She then sprang into the air, and with a brutal, powerful flap, she unleashed a violent blast, turning the air below into a vortex, throwing Rainbow Dash into the bushes, and flew off.

Rainbow Dash tumbled, slamming into trees, rocks, roots, stumps, logs, and over the rocky ledge into the river. The bloodied bruised Pegasus panicked and struggled to stay afloat. She never took swimming lessons. A growing roar echoed as she was tossed around by the rapids. She splashed about with her front hooves, and just as she tried to use her good hind leg, she got caught between two rocks and pulled under. She tried to get free, but the current pushed her, slamming into the river bed, punching the air out of her lungs, and snapping more bones in her legs between the rocks. But she dislodged and was thrown back up to the surface where she coughed, gagged, and gasped, and unable to scream like she wanted. She struggled to tread for shore with her two front hooves, but before she could get a solid hoof-hold on the shallower part of the river bed, she was washed right over the waterfall and plunged into the foggy mists below. Rainbow Dash was knocked out when she hit the water, and her lifeless body was carried along downstream until she was washed ashore.

But the magic coming from nowhere interacted with the magic in her broken wings and reflected it back to its sender. There was a loud crackling snap, and the unicorn, Twilight Sparkle. Twilight searched frantically for Rainbow Dash’s magic signature, and found her face down at the edge of the river. Twilight gasped. “Rainbow Dash!”

Using her magic, Twilight pulled the unconscious Pegasus free of the water, and scanned her body. Twilight had no idea what the hell happened to her, but it must have been one brutal crash landing, and given her injuries, the trees and everything left her just shy of dead. Twilight picked up a heart rate, but immediately went to work with her spells. She managed to fix Rainbow’s leg bones, hooves, and major wing bones. Twilight then used her horn and sent a magic signal to the nearest hospital.  Then with a much more powerful teleportation spell, she teleported Rainbow Dash and herself to safety.
