//-------------------------------------------------------// Romance And Why It Is Very Hard And Amazing -by RikiBlade- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Intro //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Intro The music boomed and matched to flickering multi colored lights and the yelling, laughing and stomping around of the mass of ponies. And one unicorn was having the time of her young life. The dark caramel white freckled mare shook and bobbed her head to the music, her short feathery, spiky, poufy watermelon green, light green stripes, dark green lined mane, whipped around at each movement. Her light pink eyes were taking in the sights, wanting, no, needing to burn them into her 21 year old mind. Not a single care, worry or regret dared to seep into her mind. Pure fun and alcohol took their hold on her, allowing her to feel free, as if no rules, no laws, mattered. True wild bliss cleansed her soul. In Short, she was unconditionally at peace and feeling utterly joyous.  But she knew that she would have to end this now, she could return to this another time. But it was late, around 3:12 in the morning, and she didn’t want to get too tired, or too drunk. With a sigh she ceased her dancing and headed for the exit, her hooves felt heavy, and her mind was starting to slow down. The partying was quickly catching up on her as she felt the adrenaline leave her body with blinding speed, as if she had used up all her magic in one powerful spell. As she trotted into the half sun, half moon sky painted world, she yawned, rubbing her eyes as she made her way down Canterlot streets. When she finally made it to her small condo, which was messing and bleak compared to the other Canterlot houses, she nearly blacked out on her baby blue sofa. But she had dignity and she used it to heave herself to her brown red bed. She wiggled into the covers and flopped on the bed like a dead slimy fish. As her mind disappeared to a more sound and peaceful place, one away from the loud booms and pops of the world, she smiled with free happiness. “Melon Bread, Melon Bread!” a rough female voice pulled the sleeping mare from her dreams. “Ngh, Ghost Candy…?” the caramel mare asked, cracking an eye open to see her friend. She was a light, almost unreal coat, with long orange hair, that striped Yellow, milky white, dark purple blue, dark pink and pastel dark violet at the ends.  Her deep purple eyes scanned her ex-marefriend. “Glad to see you are awake. Its 4:57 in the afternoon right now.” She said, patting Melon Breads mane and sauntering out of the room. That`s what the unicorn liked about the pegasi mare, she was kind, straight to the point and didn’t get angry over petty things. Like the break up they had a week ago. Most ponies would grow angry and bitter, they would hate their ex other, as it was their fault that there was no more spark, or romantic love. Now, only friendly caregiver love sat between the two mares. They agreed that they were different ponies and they had moved on, no bucks given. It simply was not meant to be. Ghost was calm and quiet, she didn’t like to explore, and Melon was wild and free, she liked to find things out and step outside the box.  The unicorn mare had, and always trusted her pegasi companion with her darkest secrets, her deepest worries. There was not a single thing the other didn’t know about themselves. From favorite foods and color to kinks and past experiences. So Melon groaned and slowly dragged her tired body off of the bed, her hung-over head whacked her with scolding thoughts. As she made her way to the kitchen, in all its old glory she found a glass of water sitting on the table. “Thought you might need it, you completely ignored me when you came in the door.” Ghost said, not a single drop of anger mixed into her voice. Sometimes Melon thought that the pegasi was a goddess in disguise.  If this happened to be the case, then Melon felt blessed, and she knew damn well how to use this blessing. “Thanks Doll, yer a goddess reborn as a hell of a ‘mazing mare.” Melon said, a smirk on her lips and she glugged down the water. Ghost simply rolled her eyes. “Hmm, then it seems I`ve been sent to live with a reject demon.” She said, jokingly, of course. That was their thing. Ghost was sarcastic, slightly insulting, but she was joking and only meant well, while Melon was flirty and friendly to almost anyone under the sun. They blended well together, as friends and as lovers. “You didn’t get into too much trouble last night, right?” she asked. “Im fine Candy, nothing ‘sides drinkin and partyin happened, promise!” Melon said, smiling, even though her head hurt. “You should join me next time, really! Id spot you and if anypony tried to harm you, Id knock ‘em to the ground faster than you can say “Back off”! It would do you good to get some freedom and alcohol induced bliss in you.” The unicorn mare joked, she knows her friend would never go to a club, let alone let alcohol touch her lips. Ghost glares at the other mare and shutters, the very thought of doing such things disturbs her. Melon raises up her hooves. “Joking, darling! Im just joking! I`d never make you do something you don’t want to. Unless it was for your own good.” She said, meaning every word. “You better be! Sometimes I wonder what it`s like in that brain of yours! But then I just horrify myself. Now Go back to sleep, I don’t want you whining all day.” Ghost said with a huff. Melon listened and slowly lugged her way back to her small messy bedroom. She plopped herself back onto her messy bed and curled into a nice tight ball, she felt her mind slipping away from her pain.
