I'm Samuel, a Year 10 Schoolboy attending "Canterlot Institute for Gifted People" In Canterlot, and my life is not going well, I got caught up in an incident that screwed what little pity people gave on me, I'm just a unwanted , the only upside of this grief is that my lowered self esteem keeps me in good shape and my solitary keeps me from self-harm, I like my privacy in my Dorm near Canterlot Castle, but my life is a pit, a tragedy in itself without school in the picture, a failure, but today, It changed, after one single push.....
It all started when I was walking home alone, as usual, when I see a dark figure approaching this Young lady with purple and pink hair, I watched him brandish a knife and run straight at her, I yelled and pushed her away, with the knife slashing a shallow cut on my thigh. As I fell in pain, I heard a gunshot and felt my weight being picked up as I was hurried to the nearby hospital, I got 3 days off school, good, 3 days less of pain and misery in my books.
And now, this is where it turns strange......
I'm sitting in my Equestrian History lessons when I hear a knock on the door, my teacher opens it to reveal 2 stunning ladies wearing black suit, one with lush, blue hair with a purple tinge with diamond shaped earrings, and one with flowing,long pink hair, one of them suddenly asked a question.
"Sorry to bother you, bus is Samuel here?"
People look across the room and murmur, "Why do they want him?" "I hope he gets arrested by Celestia and sent to the moon" "Look at those Melons!", I give a slight chuckle on that comment, nobody notices though they are too preoccupied by the girls.
I stand up and dust myself down, as I leave the classroom one of them Pushes me against the wall and starts examining me, talk about personal space!!, but nobody in the world would mine if it was these 2, not at all..
They pull away from me and one smirks as she says.
"Looks healthy, checked his reports, good intelligence, lets take him in"
One returns and says I need to go off school for 40 days. 40 days! Life is giving me time away from my pity, thank Celestia. The teacher objects, but a Badge clears all conversation, this got me worried, Equestrian Police?, Pony Protection Unit? What did I do, hinder a target attempt with my knife sacrifice?? Millions of ideas were running through my head...
Once I got out of school, I felt a sharp grasp at my neck, then a light blow that sent my vision into darkness.....
I wake up in a marble floored room, on a mauve coloured couch with a wooden sign saying "C.S.A Reception". I'm soon ushered into this room where i see celestia, queen of Equestria in the room, this send my heart into overdrive, I start sweating and I feel my blood pulsating through my hands, she raises her hand, and says "Calm Down Sam, you are in no trouble"
After I calm down she explains everything, how I saved a Agent by taking a knife for her, how they want me, ME of all people, to join the academy with 5 other students in a 30-day basic training in Manehatten. My life was getting back on track, life was giving me a chance to prove myself
And this is why, dear diary, you should wish me luck, As this is my last ever page I will be writing in you for a long time and this is my change, to start from the beginning.... at "Celestias Secret Agency"
C.S.A : The Beginning of the Best.
I waits in a large room, accompanied by 4 other Boys, as we stand in this Boiling room sweltering away in the manehatten heat, when suddenly a voice booms over above us.
"Welcome to day one of training, this simulation will help us get a good idea of your strengths and weaknesses, you will receive a handgun in the simulation room, and will face 5 other of our agents in a test of skill and strength, when the gong sounds, you will run and then 10 seconds later, the Agents will be released, set to kill you."
This send fear up my spine, but I look calm compared to the others, you can basically see the sweat pouring out of their latex suits, look disturbing if you think too hard.
I stand with my feet apart and ready myself in a position for when the gongs sounds, so get the best head start I possible can!
10,9,8,7.... I Tighten my laces 6,5,4,3 I place my goggles on and tighten them 2,1.. My new life... starts.... here!
!GONG.....!
I dash out of the room, gun in hand a sprint to the nearest stone structure, I hear the gongs again, then a flurry of gunfire emerges from the other room, with the Agents poring out from the structure.
I see my allies falling, I count the bodies.. 1...2.., 3 of us left, I suddenly hear gunfire whiz past my head, and the blue hair of the girl who recruited me...
"Why hello you, settling in nicely?" she asked
"Could be better, remove the guns and bullets and you got a nice hotel resort going on" I say.
"True, but we are an agency" she holds out her hand and smiles "Rarity" Her facial expression quickly changes to a sinister as she calmly says "Now, I'm I thoughtful girl, so I'm going to give you 4 seconds to run before I continue to shoot your worried ass, ready?"
I nod, why the hell did I nod, now I'm dead, I fell into her trap.
4,3... Gotta think fast 2... I raise my gun and duck, she sends a bullet that skims my hair off, leaving a bald patch scraping across the middle of my scalp, and I sent a bullet that slams straight into her stomach, I see pixels dissolve away at her body, confirming her death and then the sudden realisation reaches my head.
"I got a kill..."
My happiness doesn't last long and 2 Agents send suppressing fire at me, I crouch as they sprint over to Rarity's Dog Tag
"Been a while since a Recruit got a kill" Says the Rainbow Haired girl.
"True, but y'all know what they like, kill someone they we round up their asses and mow them down like deer on huntin day, says this girl with blondish hair, she must have grown up on a farm, she has a cowboy accent when she speaks..
I take the hint and sprint into the woods, slapping the jungle leaves out of my face as I bolt over to this decrepid Barn, I quickly bolt the rusty lock and sigh a relief, then I feel my eyes get heavy and fall to sleep.
I wake up in the Simulation end room, I get confused and ask why I am here.
The receptionist said "Hold on, here is your death report"
I take the report and read it thoroughly
Simulation 12550/Manehatten Simulation Facility Death report : Samuel Roberts
Suffered 3rd degree burns from a burning object and a decapitated torso from a crooked piece of sharp metal
that fell on the victim during training, Victim was asleep at the time so no notification of the death was observed by the victim.
Rarity enters the room with a giant grin on her face, she sat down and tried her hardest not to blurt out into a fit of laughter.
"Nobody has ever thought to sleep in the barn, one look up would show you the array of metal sheets dangling from the roof, we need to train your awareness, and common sense" Said Rarity as she let a laugh escape her lips.
I found this very awkward on the way to the Training Arena, what a awful 29 days this will turn out to be......
After realising the sleeping situation was awkward, 2 people to a bed, I realised that this seems worse then school, but sleep got the better of me, as I drifted into a deep sleep.
Day 2-10
I suffered multiple grazes on my arms through hand to hand combat training, now I'm forced to fight an Agent called Rainbow Dash, I realised this is the Colourful, shot haired girl, I place my self in fighting stance, brace, then wait for the Whistle
*TWEET*
I'm instantly hurtled into the air and sent back down with a decisive Karate blow to the stomach, I get completely winded and my bruises from 8 days of traumatic training start to sting violently.
Rainbow realises the damage she has caused and gingerly lifts up her hand and pulls me up, as she walks off she whispered into my ear with a touch of acid to her voice
"Not the toughest now, are ya?"
I take this the wrong way and slump down to the floor, cowering at my pitiful display against her, I hate it here!!!
Day 11-29
I get the hand of the carefully planned out regime, I learn basic skills and gun training, seems easy enough, once I got through 5 hours of Gun Practice, seems like a feather in my hands... But I was in for a deadly surprise for my last day. As I walked back to my room, I got knocked to the floor and I was out cold, Next thing I know I'm in a small tent... In.. The...
Equestrian Arctic... This is my final test.... I'm Screwed...
As I think about my options, I notice a shadowy figure approach me
"Hey, I'm your partner for this test, call me Alex"
"Alex huh? Well, this says we got 12 hours to get home, so lets get moving.."
12 hours..., 12 hours until the end of the training, but 12 hours until the start of my New Life in Equestria.
C.S.A : The Beginning of the Best.
Me and Alex continue to trudge through the thick snow of the equestrian Arctic in our Thermal Fleece and Padded boots, we keep track with our GPS of our location when Alex asks "How long left and how far to go", I pull out the map and reply "7 hours left and 5 Miles to go, we got tons of time on our hands"
"Lets not get cocky though, we still got to move, and I think that the snowstorm may exceed our fitness, lets set up a camp until it dies down" said Alex
We both agreed and set up camp near a hill top to keep out most of the frozen wind that was slamming us in our faces, The GPS tells us a helicopter is 5 miles away, ready to take us to Canterlot Academy.
Later that night, the wind started to die down and as time passed, we started telling stories on how we were recruited, Alex told me he is a boy who lived in Las Pegasus with his brother, who was also recruited to the Agency, they lost their parents in a car accident and ended up being recruited by a Agent called Applejack who saw the distraught boys. Time quickly passed and they then set out again, but were instantly stopped by the sudden appearance of a Sleeping Polar Bear.
"Crap, stay in, Polar Bear outside" I whispered to a Half-Awake Alex " Wee need to wait for it to move, or move it ourselves, but I fear I will lose my face it I attempt to take that creature on.." I say with a hint of fear in my voice.
Alex replies with a clam expression "I know what to do, grab that chunk of ice and throw it, they are attracted to movement, Wow, Equestrian Animal Knowledge was useful for once" This made me laugh a bit, I never really listened to that, didn't seem to care about them, but now I wish I listened as if my life depended on it, cause it kinda does right now....
I grab a massive chunk of ice, balance myself.and hurtle it out of the tent flap, I hear it smash to the floor with a loud thunk and the fragments continue to slide across the rigid Ice, but the polar bear does not budge! I string a line of curses as I try to formulate a plan. While thinking, I notice a gleaming rock, sticking out of the tent, I hastily reach for it and pluck it out of the ground, I hurl it straight at the Bears head, it smacks across it's temple but instead of blood, I spot wires and hunks of metal sticking out, I don't take long to realise and kick the Robot in the guts as I storm back into the tent.
"For god sake, It was a robot, they tricked us." I say as I pack up my gear " I'm calling them to find out what the hell that was all about"
I pull out my Trans Communication device and dial the number for the Agency, Rarity is the first to pick up the phone, I shout down the receiver "Why the hell was there a freaking polar bear robot planted outside our tent
Rarity Tutted and said "Look, if you read your guide you would know that all Polar Bears hibernate in this weather, let alone sleep next to a tent, you didn't even think about that at any point?"
I say sheepishly "Well, either way, that scared the shit out of us, Fear overpassed our thought and we just tried to scramble up a idea so.. you know.... um... Gotta go..." I switch off the receiver before Rarity could get a remark in.
After we packed up camp, we continued up along the hillside until we reached the helicopter, we sighed in relief and sprinted over to the helicopter, when suddenly
*CRACK*
The ice under me snapped and I was sucked in, I took a life-saving breath as the cold water started to drag me into what could be my watery grave, I slammed my eyes shut and took in the information in my head
It's 2 minutes until I get hypothermia 3 Minutes until I lose conciousness and 5 minutes until the cold sends my organs into shock, I need to act fast!
I instantly grasp onto the rigid sides of where the ice shattered, I try to hoisted myself up but the ice was starting to feel loose, I pulled with all my might until I felt a hand help life me out, once I got out I rolled on the floor over to the helicopter, while spreading out my weight so I don't break it again, I finally get onto the powdered snow, where Alex is speaking to me, In what I hear as a muffled sound
"You got to stay awake Samuel, or-----"
I was submerged into a world of darkness...
