Xander walked down the lonley dirt road , it was raining so his brown mane stuck to his orange coat, his wings were folded as usual . After all being blind wouldnt allow good manuverability. He could hover but not much else. As he walked down the road he accidently bumped into somepony he could tell from the squeal that it was a mare. "im very sorry mam" he said trying to help her up. Trixie swatted him with a hoove "watch where your going blank flank" being as old as he was, he still didnt have a cutie mark, it was emberrassing, to say the least but he couldnt see the mark so it didnt matter
As he was walking he noticed the ground change under himit was more coarse. Then he heard moos and a voice yelled "hey get outah mah cattle field" he hovvered upwards theb flew away from the voice, soon he heard voices all around and managed a clumsy landing he sighed when he didnt crash into something. However it was short lived when pinkie pie jumped in front of him "HI" he halted and said "uh, hi.." She then popped up on his left side "im pinkie pie, whats your name" he started to say"my names xander" pinkie popped up on his right "are you new here you must be because ive never seen you before, and I know everyone in ponyville" again he tried "oh um okay" but pinkie popped up again behind him "we should have a party!" He was freaked oyt so he started walking away, "where you goin?" He moved faster. "hey!" Now he was running, and didnt see the ice sculpture bieng moved into a nice butique. CRASH it toppled to the ground and rarity ghasped "my ice sculpture!" She glared at him, as he hrld his head "watch where your going you brute" he then sighed and began walking. No longer caring that he was freezing. As he walked he heard a voice as sweet as honey "come inside my fury little friends" and with one missed step he toppled right into fluttershy, who yelped in suprise before they both fel into a puddle. He got up and before he could speak she said "oh my goodnes im soo sorry I didnt see you" he craned his neck down to help her up "no I.. It was my fault im sorry" she then smiled "i ... Its okay" he then nodded and continued walking. She looked at him, then her cottage "um, you shouldnt walk in the rain you could get sick" he stopped and turned to face her . She then said "you can stay in my cottage until its dry , I... If you want to" he smiled "thankyou miss?" She blushed realizing she hadnt introduced herself "oh, im fluttershy" he smiled "im xander.D manes" and then went inside, onlt to slip and fall again. Fluttershy rushed over "oh my are you okay..." Thats when she realized it , in his eyes "your blind?" He nodded sadly "yeah, " she then smiled "ive got a blind squrrel named mr nokkers" he smiled , she was very nice to him, unlike most had been that day. She offeres him some tea then they sat and talked for a while. He told her about his teerible day and eventually fell asleep. She covered him with a,small quilt and said "my friends will like you"

Xander was still sleeping when rarity came over . Fluttershy heard her knock and hollered (well as best as fluttershy could) for her to come in, when rarity opened the door she was suprised to see xander on the couch, but she walked warily past him into the kitchen eying him suspiciously. She then leaned ov re r fluttershys shoulder and asked "um , dear may I ask why he's here?" Fluttershy peered ovee raritys shoulder at xander. "oh, it was raining and he looked sad , I didnt, want him to catch a cold, whats wrong with that?" She asked confused by rarity's pained expression. Rarity sighed "darling, he well he destroyed the ice sculpture for my banquet earlier, it was rather barbaric" fluttershy was wide eyed "he probably didnt mean to" rarity stood up straight "he ran right into it" xander woke up just then and screamed. Fluttershy ghasped as she dropped the tea kettle, then she rushed into the living room. Raritywas torn, but finaly sighed and used her magic to clean up the mess.
In the living room xander was sitting up in a cold sweat panting. Fluttershy came up next to him "whats wrong?" He turned his head in her direction. "flutershy?" She smiled "yes im here" he then rubbed his eyes with his hooves and sighed
"i appologise if I scared you" she shook her head "no i-its okay" Rarity came in just then with three cups of tea hovering in the air. Xander recognized the voice and blushed "miss, im sorry about your ice sculpture, I just didnt see it" rarity started to retort but then she saw his eyes and sighed "no I should appologise , It was rude of me to yell at you without your explanation" he smiled "okay" . They all sat and drank thier tea . Xander explained his encounters with two other mares. Rarity nodded and said "well trixie isnt the nicest mare thats true, but as for pinkey, she's just overly energetic, youl get used to it" xander raised an eyebrow "what do you mean?" Rarity rolled her eyes "i mean it will take a while, give it about 2 weeks" . Xander was shocked "two weeks, ill be in ponyville?" Fluttershy then said "you mean you wont?" He turned towards her "i-im not sure I can stay, I just dont want to be a burden to anyone" fluttershy ghasped "dont say that you wouldnt.be a burden" he smirked sarcasticly "you say that now, but youl all eventualy get tired of me, always running into things and knocking things over" fluttershy laughed "that might bother rarity, but not me"rarity rolled her eyes "very funny darling" making her giggle.
There was a knock at the door and fluttershy went to open It. Rarity asked "are you alright xander" he.nodded "ya , dont worry im fine, ,and I accept your alpology. She smiled and applejack walked in with pinkie pie,and fluttershy . Pinkie blushed as nd walked up to xander "sorry for freaking you out , its just not often when we get new ponies ya know?" Applejack nodded "ya I am too, I recon I shoulda put up a fence around.the pasture. Xander stopped them "no , im the one sorry,uh applejack is it?" He continued "i should have paid attention to my hooves" then he turned towards pinkie "and im sorry for running like that, ir was rude" fluttershy spoke up "i knew youd like my friends, wait til you meet twilight, and rainbow" he laughed and fluttershy tilted her head "what" he then said "that reminds me how I lost my sight, I watched a sonic rainboom and it was the last thing I ever saw" the mares exchanged nervous glances and then fluttershy said "well ive got to go by twilights house to pick up some things, so ill see you later xander" he stood up "i could go with you if you like" she gave a nervous smile "oh youdont have to" he nodded "i want to though" she looked at her friends . And said "okay" and they walked to twilights house
