Prologue: War...
War – war never changes.
In pony history, there was a time when ponies were torn apart by greed, power, and hatred. A time where ponykind was divided, spilling blood in the name of their gods and goddess to the righteousness of one ideal over the other to simple, petty vengeance.
That all changed however after the formation of Equestria, a land where differences were put aside and harmony bloomed. Love and tolerance influenced all over the region and the land flourished because of it. It was a golden age for ponykind.
But after years of prosperity had passed, the peace which the ponies cherished deadly was eventually taken from them when a new threat arisen: The Changelings. A race of insects who consume the love of others to fulfill their own sustenance.
The love sucking parasites and their Queen invaded Equestria’s capital, Canterlot, and nearly overwhelmed its defenders. But not before they were repelled by the same love they have been seeking.
With the Changelings in disarray, Equestria’s elite forces, the Royal Guard, set out in search of the remaining Changelings to either capture or destroy them.
As the hunt goes on, the fate of one Guardspony had been decided. Running for her life after her squad was annihilated by a Changeling ambush, the lone Royal Guard was forced to retreat into a deep long cave fill with countless passageways and dangerous long forgotten magic. What seemed like a simple bug hunt has taken a turn for the worst.
