It was one of those rainy June days people were walking briskly holding black umbrella’s trying to avoid the rain as much as possible, including one umbrella that was smaller than the adult sized ones, except it wasn't black. Instead the umbrella was a lime green held by a light green magic aura, we follow the lime green umbrella. The lime green umbrella went on its way down the wet and slippery sidewalk occasionally pausing and the umbrella seemed to bounce a bit before moving on its way again. Finally it stopped at an apartment complex, the lime green umbrella closed and shown was light brown hair put up in a ponytail finally finished closing and shaking the umbrella closed, zooming in to reveal the back of a mare. She has pink fur and she wore a lime green pullover, her galoshes are bright green. The mare walked through the foyer and up the stairs to the second level briskly walking all the way up the stairs to her apartment. Finally she arrived at her apartment front door, the door was a moldy brown color and had some cracks from old age.
The doorknob once was a brass but now it became tarnished as it aged, the mare pressed her ear to the door and listened. She could hear muffled but somehow loud arguing, the mare sighed her parents were at it again hopefully the neighbors wouldn't complain again. She cautiously reached out her magic and turned the knob opening the door. Glancing around the room she saw shadows of her parents, her mom was holding something in her aurora -a plate she thought it was- and her father was tense and stiff. She could hear the words but she didn't want to listen to the argument. Quickly she quietly tiptoed to her room by the kitchen and opened the door, luckily in time before a loud crashing sound of the plate smashed into the wall and angry voices were raised. The mare sighed and walked to her room crossing the ugly brown carpet her bangs falling over her blue eyes.
She grabbed a faded tan saddle bag and gathered her notebook, a pencil and a pencil sharpener, she also grabbed some gummy worms opened and half eaten. She crossed to the window where she quietly slipped onto the roof. There she wrapped a blanket around herself and She rummaged through her saddlebag and found her old ear buds she stuffed in her bag last week putting them in she relaxed and lost herself to music, June sat and drew like this for a while before she heard her mother muffled shouting something“June, come here” her mom yelled.
“Coming”! June yelled back, and quickly went to the living room passing the family pictures of a happier time (far back then she could remember) and opening a door she entered the living room, where her parents stood. Her mom stood tense mumbling or crying June couldn't tell. Her father sat in the old gray chair his head in his hoofs as if he had a headache, June quickly crossed the ugly light coffee collared carpet and stood in the middle waiting for them to notice her. Finally after what felt like ages her father looked up and took a deep breath. “Your mother and I have been talking -June almost snickered at the poor choice of words- we feel we both need a way out of this marriage... What I’m trying to say is, June, we are getting a divorce”. Her mother as if talking to the wall added, “we are going to file for divorce in a month until then, I’m going to be staying at a hotel room”. Her father nodded and continued “we also are doing joint custody. June’s mom said while turning around from the wall, “I best go and pack”. June’s mom said going to the stairs, the stairs creaking as she climbed them. Her father sighed and stood up and walked to the kitchen leaving June alone. she walked to the stairs and up them feeling conflicted swirling thoughts in her head, walking past her parents room where quiet sobs were heard Finally going in her room and closing the door she went to her bed and layed down with a groan, putting in her ear buds and struggled to drown the conflicting thoughts in her head and the clinking of glasses and the sobbing with music. staring at the ceiling ignoring everything. Once or twice June felt her eyes close before she snapped them open again, finally shaking her head she got up, took off her pullover and took down her ponytail and got back into bed and stared at the ceiling her head dropping and her eyes closing she fell asleep music being her comfort and lullaby. She dreamed of a mare with blurry details, a chefs hat on a purple flank and two mares smiling and laughing as they walked together going someplace fun. "But where?" June mumbled and rolled over losing the previous dream and instead dreaming of a cozy home, a room specifically it looked like a kitchen there wasn't any clear details. Two mares were laughing leaning towards each other before it blurred and faded out.
Now June was in a dark void there were voices their words unintelligible and strange, she was floating no ground to put her hooves on. "This is strange!" June said frowning and craning her head to look around.
"Where is everypony and what are they saying?" June asked as if somepony would or could come to her and give her a answer. All of a sudden there was a bright light June shaded her eyes until the bright light went away. There standing in place of the bright light stood a smiling purple mare any other details were blurred and there is a bright light behind the mare. "June I will meet you soon!" The strange purple mare said and then she just faded along with the bright light. June woke up with a start, it was still dark not even close to morning, with a deep breath June fell back asleep in a dreamless sleep.
