Crossmane was sitting on a solitary mountain watching the goings on of Ponyville and it's inhabitants, when the sun froze just before the sunsets end, shrouding Ponyville in an ethereal light that made Crossmane's coat shimmer with the faintly with glee as he jumped off the mountain. His cloak flapping in the wind, gaining speed, his hood fell back revealing his battle-scared face from its dark imprisonment, his tail as still as a boulder, not shifting as the tremendous force rushed passed it. He released his wings half a league from the ground as he broke his fall with the wind and landing without a sound. He replaced his hood on his head again before he headed off.
The town was in chaos, nopony had any idea what was going on but when the sun stopped, terror struck. Crossmane was walking unnoticed through the crazed ponies undistracted from his goal, solitude in the eternal shroud by which he was cursed. The horror he faced when he was confronted by a certain lavender pony he knew as Twilight Sparkle, her chivalrous attitude and undying hunger for knowledge and magic, he had noted to avoid her and her friends as much as possible.
"Now what are you doing alone in this chaos my friend?" Twilight asked with as she looked at her new acquaintance, noticing the strange way his mane absorbed and reflected the sun in it's faint light and began to wonder why he covered himself in such a garb as a hooded cloak.
"Well?"pleaded her eyes .
The colt stopped and looked over the mare trying to comfort him, his head not moving as to risk the hood falling down, he looked towards the direction of the castle, he ignored her and kept walking towards the city of Canterlot.
"HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GOING!"cried the purple mare worrying for the mysterious colt.
"WILL YOU AT LEAST TELL ME YOUR NAME?"
Crossmane stopped again pondering whether to risk saying his name aloud. He decided against it, ignoring her and feeling a slight pain in his chest as he disregarded her valid request. Embracing the pain, he kept walking.
"I have to help him" thought the unicorn as she raced of towards the library to find the latest copy of the Equestrian census.
Rainbow Dash was sitting on a cloud above Twilight watching in awe at what had transpired, and immediately began following the strange pony as she thought of her other friends.
"Well Fluttershy's off helping animals, i know that for a fact and Twilight's going to the library most likely. Hmmmmmm." Thought the cyan pony as she slowly stalked the mysterious young stallion.
Crossmane was aware of Rainbow's presence but did not acknowledge her for he did not know her name, only that she would a pest on his journey to end his curse,
"Now how to be rid of her?" Pondered the colt who had stopped now looking at the bright coloured pegasus who was oblivious in thought. He silently flew up and broke the cloud that Dash was sitting on, only to be gone as quick as he came.
"Now what in the heeeeEEEYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!"shrieked the scared pony as she fell through the skies she loved. She became faint with fear, and blacked out. She didn't see a cloaked figure standing on her yellow friends home.
Rarity had started shrieking in terror when the sun stopped sinking, she had a small mark on her face from when she was recently slapped by a soft pink hoof.
"Snap out of it Rarity." Said the party pony with deep pleading eyes.
"Come on, you have to snap out of it, come on, pleeeeaaase Rarity. OPEN YOUR EYES!" The pink pony yelled the last part at her distraught friend as the tears crawled down her silky white coat.
The bipedal-creature that was forming behind the mare was shrouded in a pure black hooded cloak that's colour seemed to hold in the setting sun, despite it's condition. On his cloak was a small furry animal seemingly attached to this strange creature's shoulder. It didn't even falter it's position when the biped lifted his cloak and surrounded them both. Pinkie let out a scream like no other that made the strange creature cringe at the sound. Everypony near her heard this and as she was running by, Twilight appeared. When she opend the door all she saw was a puff of black dust now settling in a small pile on the boutique's polished floor.
The Apple family was in uproar as the sun stopped.
"How will the tree's grow?" Wailed AppleBloom.
"I da'no sis, but we'll pull through, we always do." Said the older sister.
"Eyup." Came Big Mac's solitary thought on the subject.
"You guy's jus' stay here kay?" Advised Applejack "I gotta go find Twilight." She said as she set off to find her unicorn friend.
Fluttershy was unsure off herself as she woke the sleeping animals to move them to a safer place than the stampeding town.
"Come now little bunnies." Whispered the shy pony as she ushered the rabbits along.
"Almost to safety." Fluttershy said as the animals entered the burrow. She stopped dead and gasped in horror as it collapsed in front of her, crushing the animals inside. She slowly slid to the ground, in shock about what she just saw, then sucking it up she tried to find more animals. Gasping once more, she saw the hill she was sitting on collapsing in on itself. She ran, she flew, she did all she could to save herself from the chasm that was forming underneath her, screaming in terror. She flew straight into her friends Twilight and AppleJack.
"What'ch ya screaming for Fluttershy?" Questioned the orange earth pony.
"Hello?" Said the worried unicorn.
Fluttershy dared not open her eyes as she was being questioned by her friends. The other two were wondering why she was screaming, little did they know the trauma Fluttershy just went through was purely in her head.
The Canterlot throne room was in complete ruin, the ponies stareing in awe at what had transpired. The two sisters, turned to stone with nothing but a touch, the fear this entaild was unheard of in Equestria(the worst the had was Discord and that was over pretty quickly).
"Huh." said the bipedal creature in a matter of fact tone."That was quicker than i thought."
He smiled and laughed maniacally as three mares fell out of his cloak and onto the ground, also made of stone.

Chapter One/New Acquaintances
The ground was wet with rain as Crossmane trotted through the forest, his cloak stank of sweat as he heaved the large log towards a slowly dieing fire.
“Holy mother of Celestia, this things heavy.” Thought Crossmane, taking a break from his work.
“Come on.” He heard a familiar mare’s voice say “I think I smell smoke, over there”
“Oh, uh, I don’t think we should be running, you know, towards the smoke, eep”
“Don’t ch’ya worry Fluttershy we’ll be fine, *gulp*I hope”
‘Crap’ he thought as he remembered just whom those voices belonged to, he once again contemplated confronting them but decided against it. Crouching in a shrub he waited for the ponies to pass, but realised that there were only three of them. He went against his brains logic and decided to contact them. He closed his eyes and tried to concentrate when he was struck with an unknown object and collapsed unconscious.
“Come on Crossmane. Focus” The old colt ordered.
“I’m trying Dad, I’m trying” sobbed the young Pegasus.
“Telekinesis possible to anypony with your talent, as long as you CONCENTRATE!” Barked Crossmane’s father “You just have to trust yourself” he said quieter as he crouched in front of his son. “ Just one more try, and then we’ll hed home. O.K?”
“O.K. Dad” agreed Crossmane. His brow furrowed, his eyes shut tight, he felt something growing inside him, like a bubble starting in his chest, building and radiating outwards. He groaned in pain as a small boulder shifted in front of him, it lifted, stayed for a few seconds then shattered into a fine powder which made him sneeze, breaking his concentration.
“He’ll have to try harder next time”
“But you said we coul-” he started then looked at his father, ‘Dad was confused’ he thought.
“I didn’t say anything boy, what are you on about?” he said with his lips not moving. Wait NOT moving? I can’t move. What’s going on? What’s wrong with me? Help? Help! HEEELLLPP!!!
He was awoken by a cold splash of water cascading down his skull making him shiver with cold. He tried to stand but couldn’t move, he looked down and saw, his back legs tied to each other around the back of a large log, his forelegs got the same treatment. His cloak was on the ground next to him, ruffled and torn. He realised his mouth was gagged when he went to lick is cracked lips.
“HHRRGMMRRMMFF!” He protested.
He looked around his new surroundings and saw the three ponies that were following him now encircling him with angry looks in their faces.
“Now you stay quiet ya hear.” Ordered the orange earth pony.
Crossmane just nodded, not wanting to make them angrier. He looked down at his gag then back up at the trio with pleading eyes.
“You want the gag off?” queried the purple unicorn. Crossmane just nodded. “Well to bad, you ain’t doing anything till I say you’re clear. GOT IT! (?)” Crossmane once again just nodded.
“Umm, Twilight? I don’t think this is right. I mean he hasn’t hurt us yet.” He looked over to see a shy looking yellow Pegasus with two, no, three pink butterflies.
“I don’t want to take the risk.” Twilight stated firmly.
“Oh, well if you say so.” Replied the timid yellow pony.
For the next few hours Twilight was Magically scanning his body, mind and soul meticulously for impurities that may cause harm to her or her friends, but was completely dumbfounded by her results.
“Well this is strange.” Thought the lavender pony aloud
“What is it Twilight?” Questioned, the now worried, earth pony.
“Well apparently, this colt here doesn’t exist.”
“WHAT!” Exclaimed the other two in unison.
“Yep, by all rights, this pony doesn’t exist.” Concluded Twilight
“Hrrmmfmrrf” Grumbled Crossmane
Twilight had a strange feeling in the back of her head, as if something was watching her.
‘Can I get up now?’
“No! Stay put.” Answered Twilight
“Uh, Twilight? Who d’ja say that to?” Questioned AppleJack.
“Huh? Oh he just asked if he could get up, and I said no.” Stated Twilight pointing at Crossmane.
“But he didn’t say anything Twilight” Said Fluttershy.
“Bu…he…and…huh?” Stammered the unicorn, regaining her composure, she shook her head stated. “He just asked to get up, you guys didn’t hear that?” The other two just shook their heads whilst Crossmane laughed to himself.
‘You’re wasting your time.’ The voiced said again
Twilight almost jumped out of her skin when she heard the voice again.
“There it is again, you didn’t hear it?” Said the now slightly scared Twilight. The trio of mares turned to look at the bound colt who was now visibly trying to laugh through his gag but they came out as muffled whinnies and brays.
“It’s you isn’t it!” Accused Twilight, pointing at Crossmane, “You’re the voice in my head”
‘Took your sweet time, jeez.’ Said the voice, this time in all three of their heads ‘do you know how hard it is to enter an alicorn protected mind, let alone speak to them, it’s hard work, now if you wouldn’t mind I’d like to get going if I can.’
“How in Celestia’s name are you doing this, you’re a Pegasus for Luna’s sake?” Exclaimed the now very confused unicorn.
‘Ya know for the princess’ protégé she ain’t that bright is she? *Sigh* I am telepathic if you couldn’t guess, now if you don’t mind.’ Crossmane looked at his bound legs. Whilst the unicorn and earth pony were recovering from the experience, Fluttershy went to undo Crossmane’s bindings.
‘Thanks, you’re to kind Fluttershy.’ Said the voice as Crossmane untied his gag. ‘If you don’t mind I would like to be going now’ he nodded in the direction of the girls, donned his cloak then proceeded to leave.
“Hold it, right there,” barked Twilight, now visibly mad as steam was rising from her damp coat. “Since when in Celestia’s lifespan have pegasi been telepathic (!)?”
‘Since my family was cursed, by -’
“Could’ya stop talking like that or whatever?” interrupted AppleJack. “It’s startin’ ta make me feel funny” She finished holding a muddy hoof to her belly.
‘You don’t want that, trust me.’ Sighed the voice.
“Don’t worry, we can handle it.” Remarked Twilight. “Right girls?”
“Right!” The others agreed.
Crossmane sighed, and parted his lips but nothing but air escaped, or so they thought, as the trees themselves seemed to shrink back from the colt’s voice. The girls just stared in shock.
“What in Equestria was that?” Questioned a worried Twilight.
‘It’s my curse to bear, my voice causes pain to all things that can hear it.’ Sighed the now confirmed voice of Crossmane in their heads. ‘My family was given a gift generations ago, all the descendants would get some form of extra power whether it be flight for an earth pony or magic for pegasi, it was glorious.’ He said now with pride stuck on his face.'I am the last of The First Race'
Well…. I suck at writing and I hope to get better at it….*sigh* I need to try harder… damn writers block.

Chapter 2
****“Son, you are one of a few ponies known as the first race.” Commented Crossmane’s father, “you are a pegasus that possess the ability to manipulate a certain force, it all really depends on your birth star but we’ll get into that later. ” Crossmane’s Father was smiling proudly at his son, handing him a tome called ‘FACT OR FICTION, THE FIRST RACE’. He held it close, as/for it was one of the few gifts his father ever did and would ever be able to give his son. ****
“Wait… What’s the first race?” queried Fluttershy
Crossmane, ignoring Fluttershy’s question, a single tear running down his cheek at the thought of his father, slowly falling down his muzzle and onto the wet moss and rotting leaves that made the forest floor under his hooves. (( ???? consider revising, plz))
“What’s wrong sugar-cube?” Questioned Applejack as she approached Crossmane, putting a caring hoof on his shoulder, “you cried like that when you were unconscious.” ((was > were))
“Applejack! What are you doing?” Yelled Twilight, a panicked look on her face. “He. Is. Dangerous!” She growled, nodding her head back at Crossmane, “he could hurt you.”
“Now I’m sure he would have hurt me when I untied him earlier if he wanted,” chirped Fluttershy.
“WHAT? (!) YOU’RE THE ONE WHO UNTIED HIM? (!)” Shrieked Twilight.
“Well… Yes, what of/about it?” Replied Fluttershy standing up straight next to the log Crossmane was tied to. “He hasn’t done anything to try and hurt us, and I don’t think he will either.” She blinked a few times thinking about what she said and added. “Would you?” She asked Crossmane.
‘Not intentionally no, but before I go, I will say that I do not wish for any of you to accompany me or be anywhere near me. I do not wish to hurt you, any of you, so please, leave me alone.’ Said the voice sadly as Crossmane walked past the girls with his head low, and went to trot away from the clearing and into the forest.
“Now looked what ch’ya did Twi’.” Applejack Accused. “Now he’s leavin’. Ah hope you’re happy!”
Crossmane stopped dead in his tracks and turned to face the trio of mares.
‘Wait. What happened? ’ Questioned Crossmane sternly.
“Well, when the sun stopped in the sky I saw you in town. I was wondering why you weren’t running and screaming like everypony else, so I uh, I got a little suspicious… Then I approached you and you ignored me.” Twilight finished with a huff and a scowl.
‘Yes/true not my proudest moment, but I didn’t want to endanger you or your friends. Now, tell me, what happened? ’ Questioned Crossmane with a slightly softer tone.
“Well as I was saying. After you disappeared I headed off to the library to find a book that may explain why the sun had stopped moving when I heard Pinkie scream from Rarity’s place and feared the worst. When I got there, all that was left was a slowly settling pile of black dust.” Answered Twilight
“I see. “ Said Crossmane placing a hoof on his chin. “And this hasn’t happened before? No… No mishaps with another unicorn? Nothing magic that an equine such as yourself may have caused Twilight? ”
“And just what are you implying? That I was the one who stopped the sun? That … That I made my FRIENDS disappear? (!)” Answered Twilight, in an angry and defensive manner.
‘No I wasn’t saying that. What I was asking is whether your friends have disappeared like this before, and correct me if I am wrong but, aren’t there usually 6 of you? I mean, I know that 2 of you are missing but, a third maybe? ’
“I haven’t heard from Rainbow since this morning” said Fluttershy quietly. “She was supposed to help me with the animals but then the sun stopped and um *squeak*.” She stared at the ground, a blush forming on her cheeks.
‘And does she do this often?’
Twilight piped in and said, “Sometimes she does, but in these circumstances I admit I am a little worried.”
‘Hmmm, I see. ’ Said Crossmane when his ear twitched ‘ wait, ’ both his ears turning to listen in different directions, ‘you girls hear that? ’
Two of them shook their heads in ‘no’ but, Applejack had a look of fear on her face as she nodded and stuttered out a quick ‘yes’.
She recognized the sound that her friends were oblivious to, that dreaded howl; it made her cringe when she heard it.
“Uhh, we… We… we shouldn’t be here” stuttered the shaking orange farm pony, “Bad things follow those howls”
‘HOWWOOOOOOOOO’ they all heard it this time as five pairs of red eyes encircled the small clearing they were standing in.
