//-------------------------------------------------------// The Story of Isa the Blank -by keosniper- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// awakened //-------------------------------------------------------// awakened The night was young, the stars were bright, the air was soft, and the grass swayed. It was silent, not a single leaf rustled, the water was still, not a cricket chirped... It was ALL silent. "This is what peace truly is" I thought, "nothing to disturb me, just a blank peace. All alone, just me,myself, and I. This is much more settling than.... I cannot remember the name? Oh but i do remember! ...... Who DO I remember? Im sure i know someone from whatever its called? Or.... Does somepony know me?" i struggled to get up to my hooves, a great weight held me down. I looked around, but it was too dark, i made out a feint object behind me. It appeared to be attached to my back by two rods and a belt. I undone the belt after i found the strap and still struggled to my feet. "Why did i have that, and WHY cant i move?" I crawled up a small slope to find pebbles, and larger stones making a line. "Why are these here... A road right! And roads lead to?" I was finally able to stand on all fours correctly now i was on a flat surface. I looked around agian still unable to see everything. I looked down at the object and seen a round wooden thing attached to the side. "A wheel! Thats what its called. And wheels go on... Carts! and carts carry things place to place! I must have been carrying the cart somewhere. But where?" It took me a little bit to realize I was heading in a ceartian direction and decided to follow it in hopes of finding my destination to wherever i was heading. So i followed the road for a very long time, the moon was placed directly above me. It was very pretty, but it began to get cold and it wasnt quiet anymore. I heard things rustling in the leaves, birds chirped from time to time, the stars couldnt be seen, and the path was forever so dark. I kept going in the same direction i wondered from the road once or twice and learned to stay on through feeling the rocks with my hooves. I heard something fly overhead i couldnt tell what it was and tried to run, only then did i realize my back leg was injured and i fell to the rocks. Scared i started to pull myself over to the side and threw myself into a bush, i had to hide my face from the small branches and twics. It came closer and i heard four trots on the road, then four more. Then they started to speak to each other, "I thought I saw someone down here but I must have been mistaken." "its fine, but i have news that there was a note in the cart saying where she was going, we should fly to gorgedam to see if she made it there without the cart." they batted their wings and flew away. I hid there in the bush for a while, scared, I didnt know if they were looking for me to help or to hurt me. The bush provided me comfort, like a filly and her blanket and I felt secure. I didnt need to look out of the bush because i had no reason to, I was safe and protected. This thought made me realize how tired I was and I shortly drifted off. I stayed asleep until an unusual noise awakened me. It wasnt the sound of hoofs on the road, it wasnt the sound of wings, it was the sound of somepony calling out my name. MY NAME! My name is Isa! I tried to scurry out of the bush but something was wrong, i couldnt get out! I tried and i wiggled but I was suspended right in the middle of its thick "bushness". And I soon realized the more I try to get out the more i wore myself out. I looked around me to see what i could use, all there was was a lowset branch, very thin but reachable. I twisted until I was able to reach it and I tried to pull myself up but I grew limp. I was already wore out and the voice calling me was getting farther away, I couldnt shout to them because my throat was so dry, I felt like all my effort was for nothing. I reached for the branch one more time and decided that it wouldnt hold me, but give me a way to pull myself up just enough to sit up and then break out from there. I pulled and I pulled and I finally started to sit up, from there i pushed the bush out of the way and plopped out facefirst. I was glad to be out of my prison and thought, "it was so comfortable last night? Now i want to see it burn." I rushed to my hooves and paced as fast as i could towards the voice. I ran down the path one way, then down the other, my leg was throbbing in pain but i had to keep going, i had to find where the voice was coming from. Where IS the voice coming from? I stopped in my tracks and listened. I heard a voice ahead of me, it was very feint, then another came from the back, and then another from the left! There must be a dozen ponies looking for me. But.... Why? "What do they need me for? What did i do, if anything? Actually, what HAVE I done? I cant even remember my name, theres no telling what i could have done! Maybe im a felon, maybe im a very IMPORTANT somepony?" I started to pace myself back and forth. "What about the cart, they carry things? Maybe I was a courier bringing something important to...." I buried my face into my hooves with frustration. "If i could remember then i might be able to solve this mess!" I was too buisy trying to think things through I forgot about the voices calling for me. They were gone into the distance now, "They must have given up on me. I might as well get back on the ...." I buried my face agian, "I CANT EVEN REMEMBER WICH WAY I WAS GOING!" my voice hoarsly cracked and I coughed after shouting, I needed water, my throat was extremely dry and walking amisly didnt help at all. "what if.... No ill make it. I just have to keep going!" I started to pace down the road and began to limp after passing a tree fallen in the road. I wouldnt let this slow me down. //-------------------------------------------------------// they found me //-------------------------------------------------------// they found me I had been walking for a very long time, the sun was red now and the sky was getting darker. I finally saw lights down the road. I knew it was dangerous in my position, not knowing if my safety was assured or not but i needed to get there. My leg was worse, it grew from pain, to burning, to a limp, but now its dragging behind my tired body. Slowed by dehydration and walking all day I felt weak. Whatever the town had in store for me it was surely better than this, promising in fact. I thought of what good could come if i reached it in time, water would be the first, rest, food, help for my leg. MY LEG! I turned all focus away from walking to realize my leg was not just limp but that i quit feeling pain in it, i couldnt feel it at all! As soon as i stopped i could feel how much my body really ached and how bad of a condition i was really in. I started to cry, I felt my journey was at an end. I would never reach the town before dark, I wouldnt even get past the bridge. All this time ive been wasting on trying to reach a destination when i might have been saved. I trembled to the hard ground, the stones were.packed tighter here, and it wasnt very well kept either. But I still layed there and assumed it was all over, that i would never know who i was, but here i found consolation. "Maybe its best? Maybe my life was riddled in catastrophe and sadness. Either way it didnt matter, I am at an end." I crawled into a ball with my limp leg sticking out. It was not long whenever i felt a small nudge on my back, i couldnt lift up my head. I was worn out, frail, and emotionally broken so instead I tried to talk but my throat was puffy and dry "yea?" a boys voice replied with a shout "Its her! Come quick!" I took my head out from my arms to see who or what found me. He was a unicorn, but something was... Off. He had blue hair, a brown mane, but something was still off. I rest my head back and heard several other ponies trotting towards me. A little while longer and I was lifted off the hard, cold rocks of the road and onto a hay coushin on what appeared to be a small cart much like i was carrying. Everything began to fade as I heard voices talking and the trots of the ponies walking along the cart. I was dazing off, I was still crying and the soft bumps of the cart on the road helped me to relax and I drifted off into a deep sleep.
