//-------------------------------------------------------// The Rebel King -by Radoran- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Dewlap in Canterlot //-------------------------------------------------------// Dewlap in Canterlot Chrysalis was power-mad at this point and Dewlap was putting a crown, his crown, in a bag. He finally decided to run way from the evil dictator that Chrysalis was, knowing that he would go phsyco bonkers if he stayed, also asking himself What the kingdom falls?. It was time her decided to leave, to join the winning side. He made many questions that started with What if?. He wanted to make something good, make sure the empire doesn't fall on him, but on Chrysalis. He closed the bag and punched Chrysalis' snout. "Get him! Don't let him escape!" She ordered. It was to late for soldiers to get to Dewlap because he just left the building. There was a sizzling noise as he ran about eight hundred feet away in the distance. A noise filled the air and there was a bomb heading right at Dewlap. He looked back as he ran. "Oh crud." He mumbled. The bomb was falling towards him. It hit the ground and Dewlap was caught in the fire as the bomb exploded, and then he blacked out. He woke up with his eyes weary and a tall white pony exiting a room. He realized he was in a jail cell. He had a few bruises and a scar, he found that out when he laid on his scar. He shouted in pain. He turned to his right and noticed a yellowish pegasus with a pink mane and tail. She was whimpering as he stared at her. "Who are you?" Dewlap asked. The pony went back a few steps without a response. He went back looking at the floor in confusion. He had so many questions to ask. He couldn't even remember what happened before he blacked out. The pegasus finally spoke. "My name is Fluttershy." She mumbled. That question didn't even matter to him now. He was in so much confusion, he didn't need to meet anyone. A cyan pegasus bursted in with a bag. "Come on Fluttershy. Twilight says Celestia needs him for some reason. You're free now." The pegasus unlocked the cell and gave him the bag. He opened it and inside was loaves of bread and his crown. "Thanks for giving it back. And aren't you the one who became part of the wonder bolts? I'm guessing you are Rainbow dash." She looked astonished. After that she left the room. Dewlap was guessing that he should follow her. He left the room and light shined on his eye. Celestia was near the door talking to Rainbow dash. She left in a hurry and Fluttershy walked to Celestia. "We don't know where he came from, how should we return him if he came from an unknown origin?" Fluttershy asked. That question puzzled Dewlap as well, Celestia was thinking of a way to send him back somewhere. Dewlap opened the bag and put on his crown. Celestia was staring at him, but then she was looking at his crown. She had that look that meant she had an idea. Dewlap had an unsure look. Celestia then used magic to take away his crown. Dewlap flailed his arms around and grabbed the crown. She shook the crown around so Dewlap couldn't hang on. "Don't take my fucking crown!" He yelled "Hm, perhaps this wasn't used at all." She said. He took back the crown and put it on again. "What do you mean 'wasn't used at all'?" He asked. Celestia whispered something to Fluttershy. Celestia looked back to him and was thinking of a way to explain something. "Princess Luna has been unconscious from fighting an army. I can't guarantee that your crown has the amount of power it has than it did before." She said. "your crown has never been used, now is a good time to use it now on Luna. It has healing powers." Dewlap looked at her like she spoke in a native language. He wondered if Chrysalis wasn't telling everything she did know. He was starting to piece up everything he did know and try to know more. "Go to Luna. Try to learn how to use the power of your crown. If it doesn't work, well you tried." Celestia told him. He was piecing everything he did know into something that he will know. He decided he had nothing else to do, well why not? Yet, there as a question. "What's in it for me?" Dewlap asked "I'm sure you'll have to talk to my royal guard." Celestia said in an angered voice. "I'll take them out." He replied. "You can here for a reason, and one reason only. You left to help the changeling empire fall on someone else instead of yourself. Please help if you want to do that." Celestia looked down him with a close eye. Dewlap wondered how she knew that, but it never was the point. "Fine, but I won't like it." Dewlap said in agreement He ran to the infirmary and saw Luna laying back on a bed, making groaning noises. Dewlap expected something more. "Alright, let's use this power of yours." He tried to use everything he could do to use magic, then suddenly, his horn started shimmering and flashing with a a green aura. He felt like his energy was being absorbed. Finally, Luna woke up groaning a bit more. Dewlap felt hollow and weak. He had his tongue out while breathing like a dog. He fell on his back, panting with his arms wide open. Luna got out of the bed and looked at him. "look out the window, if you still have energy to even use your legs." Luna said. He couldn't stand. The healing energy drained more than it should've. He dragged himself on the floor and to the window. A table was near the window, so he supported his legs by pushing himself up on the table. He glanced out the window, he was shocked by the appearance. Half of Canterlot was crumbled. Even though he's only been there for twenty minutes, he knew that Canterlot isn't the same. "That was how I got unconscious. Do you see what could happen if more attacks happen in the future?" He didn't respond. Luna helped him get up on his feet, but every time he would take a step, he'd fall. He dragged himself out of the room and back to Celestia. A unicorn was with Celestia. "What happened here?" She asked. "Dewlap here, has woke me up, but he hardly has the energy to use his legs." Luna explained. He dragged him to the unicorn and held out a hoof to offer a hoof shake. She shook hooves with him and introduced herself. "Twilight, show him around the remaining part of Canterlot." She said. "Alright, I'll find Rainbow dash as well." Twilight grabbed his hoof and dragged him out of the building. She opened the door and saw Fluttershy rebuilding a house. She sprinted to her and said something else, and as Twilight was talking to Fluttershy, Dewlap was approaching them. "You think he'll be a danger?" Fluttershy said. They glanced at him nervously with a fake smile. They stepped back once. "Okay, let's show you around Canterlot." Twilight told him. "Come along." Dewlap followed her as they headed towards a newsstand. "I believe you know what this is." He grabbed a news paper and didn't understand a thing what in there. Changelings...? He saw that name and he had a headache and fell down. His head was pounding, he felt weak again. The headache stopped and he got up "Are you alright?" Twilight asked. "Oh, you see me fall down in pain. Of course not!" Dewlap exclaimed. Twilight jumped back a little. She took a deep breath. "Moving along now." She said. They went to a restaurant that seemed that it was reserved for Filthy Rich. There were posters up on every window for just one cake. Nothing seems regular for Dewlap. "So remind me why we're here?" Dewlap questioned? Twilight looked back at him with a disappointed face. "Look, I don't want to be with you as much as you don't want to be with me. We're just suppose to bring you to one of our generals to he can put you in a useful position." Twilight said. Ponies stared it him. Some whispered to others. "Don't pay attention to them." She said. There was some kind of bunker in the distance. Pegasi were flying up and down from it. As they got closer to it, Pegasi were looking at him and they fell out of the sky because they were doing some kind of training. Dewlap laughed at their failure. "Well, here we are. The Canterlot army base." A pony approached them. He seemed to have a sharp and long sword in his hoof. "Hey Twilight, who's he? Finally brought a recruit?" He pointed his sword at Dewlap. "Dave, for once. Yes. We need him at a reliable spot." She replied. "By the way, where's Shining Armor?" "Oh, he retired." Dave replied. "Hey you, can you fly? And what's your name?" He asked. "If you mean staying in the air longer enough, then no. The name's Dewlap, sir." Dewlap replied. "Good, you know respect. Now, I'm going to get you a dagger and some armor. I'll be right back." He walked inside a bunker that had spray paint on it. "Hey Dewlap. Kill yourself out there." Twilight punched his shoulder. "Hate you too." He replied. Dave came back with a dagger and a orange suit. Dave dropped the equipment near Dewlaps feet. "Looks heavy, doesn't it? That suit won't dent if someone stabs you." He handed Dewlap the dagger. He put on the suit and it turned on. "So how does it normally go around here?" Dewlap asked. "Well you're different than anyone of us here. So you'll get attention around here. Training is at noon. The armory is over there. Go eat something, maybe visit ponyville. That's where Twilight lives." He told him. An hour later, Dewlap and Dave are training against each other. "Come on! Where are your reflexes?" The other soldiers were laughing at him. Others paid no attention. "Dewlap, lets get you a sandwich. You seem hungry." Dave and Dewlap went to a cheap sandwich restaurant for one bit per sandwich. "Why are we here again?" Dewlap asked. He kept buying a sandwich after he eats another one. "I'm hungry. We don't have breakfast over at the bunkers, so I eat here while I can." He replied "Seems pointless when you're not hungry." Dewlap muttered. Dave looked up at him. "So why did Twilight bring you here?" He asked. "Do we really need to talk about this?" Dewlap said. Dave kept staring at him as if he wanted to know. "Ok fine. She didn't know what to do with me when I woke up. In a prison at least. I read the word changelings and then my head started to hurt like hell." Dave wanted to know more. "I know want to hear more but that's all I know." Dave look at him. He slowly grabbed a knife. "You're one of them." He pulled out his knife and threw it at Dewlap. "Dave! Calm down! I hardly remember anything to even know my species wanted to attack this place!" Dewlap shouted at him. He looked at Dave with a worried expression. "You're scaring me! Just stop and eat the stupid sandwich of yours!" "Sorry, They've been attacking since last month. They come in swarms. Look over there." He pointed at Ponyville which had a dozen flames visible and smoke coming from each fire. There were black specs swarming the place. "Wait, They're still there? Come on!" They ran down hills and went to ponyville. There were screams of terror and loud hissing noises. "This is what happened?!" Dewlap exclaimed. "They've been firing bombs since. And I though they stopped after the last attack." Changelings approached them, growling with anger. "Dewlap, ready for your first kill?" "I wouldn't consider it my first." Dewlap said. The two changelings jumped at them. Dave and Dewlap both stabbed them and kicked the lifeless corpses away. "That felt fun." //-------------------------------------------------------// Alone with a Destroyed Past //-------------------------------------------------------// Alone with a Destroyed Past Two Years Later Twilight and Dewlap walk across the destroyed road of Canterlot. Dewlap was twenty-nine years old. They kept silent as groups of changelings roam the area. They poke their heads out and throw knives at them. They fall down hissing. "Nice throw." Dewlap told Twilight. They came out of the open, meeting each other. "Is that a compliment or an insult because I can't tell." Twilight responded. They smiled. Life was better. If anything stood in their way, they'd get past them. "Ok, let's remember what we're doing." They stared their destination: Celestia's castle. They traveled through the city without meeting any more trouble. As they arrive, the castle was the only thing that was intact after the entire invasion started. Dewlap tried to open the door but it was block. "We could go around," Twilight suggested. They checked the outskirts as they went around the castle. The back door was wide open. "Strange," Twilight thought. Their hoof steps echo as they step in the castle. They continue their plan on every step of the way. They look around for danger, yet there was none. "I wonder how Rainbow dash came here, but she owes us something." Dewlap confirmed. As they walked through doors, watching everything when they open them, there was always extra footsteps. Otherwise that, it had been fine. A few minutes had past, and every once in a while, the extra footsteps were there. Once they entered a narrow corridor, Twilight finally decided to turn around to search for the other pony. She averted her head. "Alright! Show yourself!" she demanded. A swift rainbow trail appeared and Dewlap had such great accuracy, he managed to hit Rainbow dash on her hoof by throwing a knife. It pierced her hoof, causing her to wail in pain. "Agh! Okay, you got me!." Rainbow dash said with tears streaming down her cheeks. As the pair approached her, she squirm to free herself, because the knife not also went into her hoof, it hit the floorboards, planting her there. "Okay! Just let me go!" she pleaded. "The bits, now. Or I'll pull it out the painful way." Dewlap told her. Rainbow dash started to laugh. "Ha! This is what it's about? Just money?" Dewlap knelt down to her hoof and started tilting it upwards. "AH!!! Please, stop it! It's in the next three doors, to the left! Can you let me go?!" She pleaded. "Well I think that would be bullshit if I did." Dewlap thought. He pulled a gun out and pointed it at her. "Wait! Wait! Plea-" She was cut off by a bullet going through her head. Her head fell, and when it hit the ground, it made a hollow sound as if she had no brain at all. They stared at her head as it gushed blood. "She deserved it." Twilight said. Dewlap kept staring a the corpse, laying in a pool of blood. He then looked back at Twilight and nodded with agreement. They finally started to walk towards their objective again. "Hey. You know, for a rainbow pegasus, wouldn't you think that her blood is made of rainbows?" Dewlap wondered. "Well, now that you mention it, yes. I thought it would be made of rainbows," Twilight replied. As they reached the door, Dewlap pulled out his gun. He then smashed the door down, continuing with gold coins. "Wow, she wasn't smart enough to put traps." "She doesn't even think about traps," Dewlap replied. He knelt by a pile of bits and then started gathering them in his arm. "Let's just take our money back and leave." Dewlap said. He pulled out a sack and dropped the money in the bag. They exited the room and started heading back to their tent. They left the castle and followed at road, or they would call it and earthquake. "So, after this, what do we do?" Twilight inquired. "I say we sleep. It's a long way here and back, and I'm tired as well. So we sleep." Dewlap answered. Once he finished the sentence, there was a loud buzzing noise in the distant areas. "You hear that as well, right?" Dewlap wondered. "No doubt." Twilight responded. They ran between buildings and hid there. The noise got louder and changeling rose to the skies, roaming the area. "Where to now?" Twilight asked. Dewlap started to look around. "Uh, that coffee shop there, we run over there, but on my mark." He said. He held up his hoof and then put it down and started running towards the shop.Twilight followed when she saw him. They entered in a rush and then blocked the door with chairs. They looked towards the back exit and heard a growling noise. A changeling poked their head out and tackled Dewlap. It's horn started to glow. "Not today!" He placed the barrel of his gun on the changelings head and pulled the trigger. The gun clicked. Dewlap remained in shock. "Get off of him!" Twilight yelled. She tackled the changeling and grabbed a sharp, metal fork and stabbed the changeling. "Hey, are you alright?" Twilight asked. She walked over to him and pulled him up. "I was scared." Dewlap admitted. They continued to the back door and left the building. They went to a highway and pasted a sign saying You are now leaving Canterlot. "Thanks back there. I owe you one." "No you don't, but I have a question… You know, never mind. I'll tell you later." She bit her lip, hoping Dewlap would not ask what the question was. "I'm surprised that you didn't die." Twilight said. "I'm surprised you didn't leave me to die." Dewlap declared. Twilight didn't respond. They got back to their tent in silence. It was night when they got there. Nothing was there, nothing besides hills and grass. They were in their safe haven. "Twilight, I'm going to stay outside for tonight." Dewlap said. Twilight looked back as she almost entered their tent. "I thought you were going to sleep," Twilight said. "I don't feel like it." He replied. He sat down, grazing on a hill. Twilight went back and joined him. He looked up in the starry night sky, staring out into space. Twilight looked down at him and sat near him. She then looked down, feeling depressed for some reason. "Dewlap? Why did you come here?" Dewlap stood still when she asked those words. His eyes started to tear up. "I don't know." He whispered. He started to stutter. "I uh, um, uh, duh." He swiftly stood up and ran into their tent. He laid down, putting his head under his arms, starting to whimper. Twilight rushed to him. "Dewlap, do you need to be alone?" Twilight asked. He shook his head. She sat down next to him. "I'm scared, Twilight. I'm scared." He said with his voice shaking. Twilight wrapped her arm around him. He started crying. He stopped for a second and reached out to grab a bag. He opened it and his crown was in it. He pulled it out and stared at it. "I never was one." He muttered. He placed the crown back in its bag. "Dewlap, please. You been your bravest, and its hard to see you like this." Twilight said. Dewlap started making an eerie noise. He switched into Derpy, Spitfire, and Soren. He then switched back to himself. "Dewlap, I got something for you. Two things actually." She rummaged through a pile of boxes and then pulled out a long box. She then presented it to Dewlap. "Dewlap, please, look at me." He pulled his head up. "What's in it?" He asked. Twilight opened it. What was in it was a sword with a sharp blade and a holster. He pulled then out of the box and slipped the sword into the holster. "I made it myself in my spare time. The blade is strong enough to hardly even be broken." She informed. She closed the box and grabbed a gold belt. She handed it to him. He put it on and clipped the sword onto it. "Thanks Twilight, really appreciate it." He said. He looked around out of curiosity. "You got anything else?" He asked. Twilight's head snapped up. "Thanks for reminding me!" She said. She went through the pile of box again. She then pulled out a small box. "You know what, I'll save this for later." She said. "We should sleep though." She implied. Then there was a noise. Dewlap was snoring from boredom. She looked at him with a small grin. She touched his mane. It felt soft and silky. She laid down and instantly fell asleep. Twilight was the first to wake up. There were foot steps outside the tent. She wanted to investigate, but she was too tired. "Dewlap," She whispered. "Dewlap." She whispered again. It was no use. He was sleeping like a rock. She took his sword and looked outside. There were three royal guards approaching the tent. She rubbed her eyes. "Twilight!" One of the guards yelled. They ran towards the tent in a hurry. They came up to her. "Oh hi!" She waved her hoof. "What's happening?" She asked. "Hand it over." One said gruffly. "Hand what over?" she asked. "The changeling you are harboring." The guards replied. "Ok, one. He's not an it. Two, no." She said. One of the guards took out a sword. Twilight stepped back. She then flung the sword at one of the guards. "Sorry!" She ran inside the tent and grabbed the small box that she had last night and grabbed Dewlap as well. "Come on, we're getting out of here." She whispered into his ear. She put him on her back an ran into the fields. The guards pursued after them. "Twilight! Hand it over!" One yelled. Twilight made no response. "Wake up you fool!" She said to Dewlap. He snored in response. "Ugh!" She rolled her eyes and ran faster. She looked around for a forest or someone place else to hide. Dewlap started coughing. His eyes slowly opened as he stared at Twilight. "Why are you running?" He moaned. Twilight hit his head. "Ow, what was that for?" He asked. "Celestia wants you dead! That's why I'm running! Now get on your hooves and run!" She implied. Dewlap's cyan eyes shot open and got off Twilight. "Where to now?!" He asked. Twilight searched for a forest. She then caught a glimpse of a cluster of many trees. "There!" She yelled. They ran towards the trees. Dewlap looked back and saw the guards catching up to them. They got to the forest in no time and ran behind trees. The guards stopped chasing after them and returned to the tent. Dewlap and Twilight were panting. They then laughed a bit. "I'm amazed by how we're still alive. Heh," Dewlap said. "I love you." She said in a monotone voice. "I mean, uh, yeah, me too." Dewlap looked at her with confusion. Then he lowered his head with a frown. "You do, huh? Then that is a danger to both you and me." He said scratching his mane. "You see, changelings feed off of love. You and me, that can't happen." Twilight came up to him. She then kissed him on the lips and Dewlap remained in shock. "You don't need to leave." She said. Their eyes met, staring at each other. "What can happen is us eating." She reached up and grabbed a couple apples. "Here," She handed an apple to Dewlap. She then ate her apple. She looked at Dewlap, who started nibbling on his apple. She groaned. "What are you so afraid of?! We are still alive! So who cares if we love each other!? They can try to stop us! Remember Canterlot, with Dave?!" "Don't mention his name." He whispered. "Dave helped us! Can't you help me!?" Twilight as she approached Dewlap. "I said, don't mention his name!" He shouted. He then pushed Twilight back. She fell with her mane in dirt. Dewlap realized what he was. He looked at his hooves, then at Twilight. "I'm, I'm sorry" Dewlap slowly backed away, and then ran from her. "Dewlap! Dewlap, please!" She shouted. "Don't leave me here alone." Twilight said with her voice breaking. She looked at the apple that he dropped. A tear fell from her eye. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Search for Dewlap //-------------------------------------------------------// The Search for Dewlap I gathered branches to build a miniature tent from the rain. It had been two hours since Dewlap abandoned me. I let him leave, got him out of trouble, and this is how he repays me. I already miss the cyan eyes that would look at me. I've never been so sad. And the rain made it worse. I must show him what was in that box. I must! You think he would stay by me, but no. The box has something import ant in it, more important and Celestia, Luna, and Cadance combined. Well, more important than Cadance. Hopefully, I will find him. I heard that Canterlot is being rebuilt. Maybe he's there. Just maybe. "Twilight!" I heard my name called. My eyes lit up. Instead, it was my brother, Shining Armor. I made a depressed sigh. "Twilight! Most of the attacks are over! We can go back to Canterlot. Continue your studies! It'll be great!" He said anxiously. He had a grin. To be honest, I don't want to go to Canterlot anymore. Sure, maybe I'll see him. But the guards would be swarming there, keeping an eye out for changelings, and maybe me as well. "Ok," I said. I wasn't feeling happy as him. I kept my voice low. His grin faded away. "Is there something wrong, Twilight?" He asked. I bit my lip. "No. How's ponyville, though." I asked. Shining's eyes darted to the right. He inhaled. "Ponyville is gone. Nothing but a wasteland." He replied. I looked down. I sighed. "Twilight, is that true?" He asked. "What? What is true?" I asked. He looked at me with a stern face. "Three guards came back with one bleeding badly. They reported that you helped a changeling and you cause the guard to bleed by stabbing him with a sword." He said. "Is that true?" he asked. I couldn't lie to him. But this was a serious time for an excuse. I felt pressured. "That does not sound like me" I lied. Who knows what would happen if I told the truth. His smile came back. He rubbed my head. "Heh, I knew you couldn't do something like that. But let's go to Canterlot now." He said. He walked away and then went towards the direction of Canterlot. He went off into the direction of Canterlot. I stared at him as he ran off. By the time I got there, eyes locked on to me. Some guards looked at me suspiciously. Then I saw the guard I stabbed. I then put a fake smile on my and I was already sweating my plot off. I got to my small house, which was bigger on the inside. I closed the door and rubbed my back on it. "Ugh, this sucks." I groaned. I walked towards a cabinet with books in it. I grabbed one and opened it. It was a thick book, with three hundred and sixty two pages. I read the book, but my eyes slid towards my window. I saw a swift, black figure run from a side of my window to another side. It woke me up. I rubbed my eyes. I then closed my book and walked towards the window. I opened it. I looked at both sides. "Must be my imagination." I muttered to myself. I saw the same figure jump from the roof next to me and onto mine. Bang! I closed the window and then walked to my door. I knelt down and bolted the lock. After that, the knob jiggled. "Coming! Just let me unbolt this stupid lock!" I shouted through the door. I unbolted it and then nothing was there. I stood there. Then I heard a noise. The window opened and the figure came in and left in a knick of time. I ran towards the window. I looked around. I noticed a small change in the room. There was a note on one of my cabinets. I picked it up and read it. He'll try it said. I was confused. Who's He. What will he try? I felt tired, I couldn't think. I looked around the room and sat on my bed. I then layer in it. I closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep. I was in my dream, which started out in my room. There were others in it. It was Dewlap, but he was laying on the floor in pain. Next to him was Shining Armor. My brother pulled out a sword. Dewlap got up, but Shining swung his sword at his neck. Dewlap grabbed the slit on his neck, which was spilling almost every drop of blood Dewlap had. He made a gargling noise. He fell into a pool of blood. I noticed something else. There was a pony behind a big wardrobe. It was me, quivering in fear. The me in my dream bursted into tears How could you! She yelled. I'd thought I would never see the day. I was mad at my brother once when he didn't tell me he was going to tell me that he was getting married in person. But this, this past the line. Shining Armor looked angry at me. He raised his sword. Fine, be a traitor. He said. My demise was the same as my closest friend(Not taking it that far). I realized what my brother would become. A monster. Shining raised his sword again. He then thrusted it at Dewlap's heart. As soon as it touched the cheese pony's skin, I woke up with a fright. I grabbed my heart. I imagined Dewlap at my side, comforting me. I refused to go to sleep. I remember the time that I did something spectacular when Dewlap was here. I smiled a bit. I laughed a bit as well, but I stopped, thinking I was going insane. There was a knock on the door. I shrieked. "Twiley!" A voice said from the other side of the door. If it wasn't for that dream, my brother would be one of my greatest relief. The damn bastard killed me and Dewlap in my dream. I unbolted the door. I was about to twist the knobbed, but the door opened by itself. Shining Armor had a huge grin on his face. I found it creepy. "Hey brother! Your grin is most, um. Erm. Interesting?" I said nervously. I face hoofed. He had something behind his back. "So, what's in the thing you got there?" I asked. For reasons unknown, I found that sentence weird. "You'll have to guess!" He said anxiously. I rolled my eyes. "Apples?" I took a wild guess. "Nope." He responded. "I have no idea." I said. He pulled out a basket from behind his back. What was in the basket was many large size gems that would make Rarity fall into a coma for about five months. I grabbed the basket and put it down next to me. "Ok, bye then." I said. I was about to shut the door, but Shining put his hoof on the door. "Twilight, you're acting strange now. Is there something you'd like to discuss." His tone of voice seemed sympathetic. I wanted to let him in, but that dream made him look worse than manure. "Well, I want to be alone. But thanks anyways." I said. I slammed the door shut and also creating an echoing noise. I looked at the gems. I then wielded them with my magic and started throwing them everywhere in frustration. "What are you talking about!?" I questioned. The note was confusing, and speaking of which. I found it ironic that after I read the note, I slept and had a twisted dream. What was that note doing with my life? I felt as if I was being toyed around, being a puppet. I got up and smashed a gem with just a hoof stomp. I looked at the shattered gem. I felt a bit pain on my hoof. I pulled my hoof up to see shards sticking out of it with blood dripping. "Heh, ha, aha ha!" I laughed maniacally. I pulled the shards out off my hoof. I squinted, but I kept laughing. I felt insane, laughing when in pain. I couldn't stop laughing at this. You'd think I'd stop by now, but this, it felt like a common thing. Pain is a common field. I watched through the window, Twilight going insane. That was not part of my plan, but it'll do. I kept watching, but she calmed herself down and looked towards the window. I ducked, hoping she wouldn't find me. I then disguised myself as a bright orange mare with a orange mane. I went towards the streets in panic for a reason. Just one spark or glow can cause such concern to me. Market places were flooded with ponies. Some would push others for a useless item. Near one shop was a lot of commotion. There was a circle around a pony in armor. I realized it was Shining Armor. "What will we do?!" A pony shouted. "What if they come back!?" Another one asked. "Settle down! We all have something to share, but it doesn't mean we should start a riot!" Shining Armor said. My right hoof started to shimmer once he said that. I hid my self in the crowd. "All we can say is that the royal guard will be at high alert!" He said. "Celestia has done nothing about it! Like the royal guards would do any less!" A pegasus informed. "Hey! We are doing the best we can!" Shining said. The crowd murmured. After that, the crowd got bigger and the streets were almost empty. I had no idea what to do or say, so I left. I went back to the streets, searching for something to buy. I saw something that caught my eye: Food. I went to the merchant. "Hey, Carrot top. What can I get you?" He said. "Just some apples." I replied. The merchant reached down and handed me a batch of apples. I laid fifth teen bits on the counter. I turned and left without a word to say. My next destination: My shelter. I went in the fields were Twilight held me and escaped the guards. I entered the tent I had, which was crammed with boxes Twilight used to have. I stopped suddenly. I looked out into the fields, then I noticed Twilight. I looked farther and then rubbed my eyes, she vanished into dust. I went back inside. I reached out for a saddle bag which had my crown. I remembered what it could do. When I woke up after I past out, I healed Luna. I set down the batch of apples. I threw the saddle bag over my bag. "Back to Canterlot I go." I muttered to myself. I went outside when the sun was setting. Canterlot was the last place I wanted to go. The royal guard was around every corner of the street. It was night and very dark, so my color could help me. I swept past a pair of guards. When I past them, I hit their necks. They groaned, hitting the ground. "Stay down for me, will you?" I said to their unconscious bodies.I held onto the handle on my sword. I went to a street with no guards at all. I wiped my forehead, which was soaked with sweat. I went on the sidewalk on high alert. I heard hoof steps following me. I pulled out my sword. Shining Armor was following me. He had a bronze sword out. "Hm, guess we'll fight then." "Who said that?" He asked. He looked around him. I should've kept my mouth shut. He noticed me a second after. His eyes locked onto me. I stood my ground. "Why am I not surprised. I suspect you brought more." He said. "I hated the race." I replied sternly. He approached me. I swung my sword to send him back. "What's in the bag?" He asked. "A crown." I said. "Who's crown?" "My crown." "Why do you have it?" "Not that you should know." He stopped asking questions. I held up my sword. "Well, you found me. Might as well fight to the death." "I got better plans." He said gruffly. He charged. "AHHH!!!" He yelled. Our swords hit each other, causing sparks to fly. He pushed his sword onto mine. He thrusted it and threw me back. My hooves slid on the ground causing dust. I paid attention to his movements. I swung my sword, hitting his. They clashed, throwing us back both ways. "We're equal." I said. I lunged my sword at him. He dodged it. "Does it matter? One of us is going to die." He said. We charged at each other. Our sword clashed. He raised his foot and hit my leg. "Dah!" I fell down. He broke my leg. My sword flew a few feet away. I limbed towards it, but Shining Armor hit my other leg, leaving me immobile. I trembled in pain. I looked up at my opponent. He raised his sword. He swung it at my head. That was it. But instead of my head, it was my horn. It fell off, landing in front of my face. My head hit the ground. I could only breath. "I told you, one of us is going to die." He said with a smile on his face. He lifted it again. "No!" A pony shrieked. My sword had a purple aura and raised itself to block Shining's attack. Twilight came in my point of view. She hit the back of his neck and he fell down. She picked me up and ran into the night. I finally had the power to raised my hoof. I rubbed her cheek. "Thanks." I croaked. My hoof fell down. "Don't die on me Dewlap!" She said with her voice faded away. I smiled. "Too late." My voice was gone. My vision was fading into white. Author's Note This chapter was hard to make be cause the lack of ideas. I thought it would've been easier if it was in first person. "Pain is a common field." came from Doug Rattman from Portal 2. //-------------------------------------------------------// His Death and Revival //-------------------------------------------------------// His Death and Revival The last words he said to me made me cry. His hoof left a mark on my cheek, at least I think it did. I couldn't believe what happened at Canterlot, but it was real. I rubbed his head, wiping his mane off his eye. I was in tears. I ran as far as I could, as far away from that monster. I looked at the stub where his horn used to be. It was frightening to watch. I ran in the field where I used to live. "Dewlap, please!!!" I yelled. I saw the tent Dewlap and I had. I carried his corpse to the tent in a hurry. I entered the tent and rummaged through the pile of boxes Dewlap kept. I grabbed a box of medical supplies and opened it. "Um, what do I need? Aha!" I grabbed a needle that could revive anybody. "This better work!" I inserted the needle and injected the serum. I what thirty second. Nothing at all. "Rah!" I kick the pile of boxes and threw some out of the tent. I almost hit Dewlaps crown, but then a virtual lightbulb appeared over my head. I needed to ask Celestia if there's a revival spell. Shouldn't take long. I stole Dewlaps handgun and left. I was heading to the castle to see Celestia. I opened the gigantic door that obstructed my path. The door knocked into something from the other side. I kept pushing on the door, but it won't budge. I backed up a few feet, and then I charged at the door. "Yah!!!" I yelled. The door fell down with a wardrobe under it. "That's one problem solved, now to find Celestia." I said to myself, as I wiped dust off me. I looked down the "endless" corridors. I drew my gun out. "Twilight? Is that you?" I heard a voice. It sounded liked Celestia's voice. I lowered my gun. I looked in a room on the sides. I saw Celestia in duck tape. "Celestia!" I ran towards her. I unraveled her and set her free. "You do know you could've done that yourself, right?" I asked her. "Never thought of that." She replied. She fell down. I caught her, lifting her on my shoulders. She looked weak, as if she was just a pegasus with a plastic horn. I looked at her. "Who did this to you?" I asked. "Your fellow friend, such as Rainbow Dash." Those words echoed in my head. There were footsteps behind me. Celestia pointed behind me with her arm shaking. I drew my gun out, turned around and fired. A changeling slid to my hooves. I reloaded, waiting for another changeling to come. "Come on, we're getting you out of here." I asked. I dragged her as she limbed on my shoulder. As I got to the exit, a trio of them blocked it. They charged at us, but not touching us. Bam! Bam! Bam! I opened the door to see about a dozen of them in the air. They looked around, and then they noticed us. "Twilight! Look out!" Celestia yelled. I looked behind and shot a changeling. My gun clicked. I took the clip out and inserted another one. I looked at the sky with changelings coming down at me. I aimed and shot eleven out of the sky. I pointed and the last one, but I missed. I stared at it, standing my ground. It crashed into me. After that, all I could see is black with my ears ringing. I felt like I was going back in time. I saw glimpses of my life. It all stopped, I noticed that it stopped at the beginning of my life. I watched as I opened my eyes. My own eyes blinded me, which was also a transition to me becoming a king. I saw the crown being put on my head. I noticed in the corner of my eye was Chrysalis. I saw her with a mad face, growling. Then I saw her eyes look into mine. The blinding light was there again. It was that day. I saw myself arguing with Chrysalis. Myself hit her head and left with a saddle bag. A rock was shot at me, landing on me as well. I saw myself disintegrating into blocks. So that's how I got there, I thought. As the last particle of me left, the light was there again. The scene was now in Canterlot. Blocks came from everywhere and formed me. People watched. I heard faint shrieking. I saw Shining Armor came through the crowd to inspect. He knelt down next to my head. He raised his hand. It's unconscious! I heard him say. He picked up my body and dragged me away. I saw myself in a cell, still asleep. A door opened with Fluttershy coming in the room. She entered my cell and went to the farthest corner of the room. Myself started coughing and choking. He woke up, staring at Fluttershy. I heard them talking indistinctly. They got out of the cell and he met Celestia. He put on his crown and ran to Luna's room. I saw his horn glow and awaken Luna. I dropped to the floor and went to the window. The light appeared, grew brighter and the scene went to outside in Canterlot. I saw Dave head out of the bunkers and headed towards me with supplies. It all froze. A flash appeared. I got up choking. I saw a faded purple light. Twilight was next to me with my crown on her head. She dropped to the floor. I was in my tent. "Twilight!" I yelled. I caught her as she groaned. I took the crown off her head and put it on mine. "Excessive use of this, here we go!" I said. My horn glowed as she started to open her eyes. Her eyes shot open. I fell down to the fabric of the tent. She fought me and brought my head in front of hers. "Dewlap, don't do that to me again!" She said with her voice breaking. I laughed. "My time was coming anyways." I said smiling. I almost forgot that Shining Armor cut off my horn. I reached up and touched my head. "Thank goodness, it's there." I said. We laughed together. She grabbed my head again and kissed me. I felt my body melting during that moment. She pulled out something and gave me my gun. I took it. "How much of the ammo did you use?" I asked. "Just enough." She replied. She pulled something else out. It was a small box. "What's in it?" I asked out of curiosity. She opened it. "Courage. The element of Harmony." I took it out of the box and wore it. I felt electricity surge through me. "You do remember Fluttershy, right?" I nodded. "Well, this crashed into her backyard. I recovered it and was waiting for the right time. I think it's you." She told me. I stared at her. I had a feeling of doubt. "You're not a hallucination, are you?" I asked her. She punched my shoulder. "I'm not!" She said laughing. We paused for a bit. I grinned and looked down at the floor. "I'm glad you're here." I said. She wrapped her arms around me and gave me a bear hug. I could hear her sniffling for a reason I have not understood. I hugged her back, just to comfort her. She unwravled her arms and I saw her in tears. "Y-you do not do that again! Never again!" She said with her voice breaking. There was a boom noise which left me curious. A whistling noise coming closer and closer. A hole bursted through the side of the tent. "Get down!" I yelled. More holes sizzled. I picked up my gun with my magic. "Stay here!" I told her. "No I'm not!" She shouted. I unzipped the opening and noticed two pegasi with guns. Once more, a bullet flew at my head. Everything stopped, even the bullet stopped. I walked in front of it with caution. I positioned it backwards and touched it. A warbley noise was the transition of everything going back to normal. The gunner fell down with a bullet in him. "Take that, you dick!" I yelled. The other pegasus panicked. He aimed at Twilight with no hesitation. I pointed my gun at him and fired. Unfortunately, he fired before me. On the bright side, he missed. Twilight doved to the ground, covering her head with her hooves. I fired again, only hitting him this time. He fell back with blood squirting out of him. "Yeah!" I yelled in victory. I walked towards Twilight, wondering if she was hit. I heard her panicking a bit. "Oh my Celestia, we survived." She said rapidly. I gave her my hoof and picked her up. I gave her my gun. I looked at her with a stern look, or I looked like a dumb-ass. "With care," I said. She looked at it, reloaded, and put it away. I walked over to one of the corpses and picked up their rifle. I opened the shell dispenser and took a shell out. It clicked as I inserted another shell in. I closed it and did a practice aim. Twilight tapped my shoulder rapidly. I turned around to see camps in a circular formation. I squinted to get a closer look. Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns are armed with rifles and handguns. "Well, what else is new?" She said. I ignored her and aimed at a unicorn. "I don't think that's a good i-" I cut her off by firing my weapon. The unicorn fell down with ponies gathering around the body with suspicion. They looked around, search for me. One pointed at me in high alert. "Better run!" I took her hoof and ran away. Shots were fired behind, one nearly hitting my ear. I stopped running for a bit. I turned around, got out my weapon and fired it. One unicorn fell down, dropping their gun. Another took his place. Twilight stood next to me and assisted me. More fell down in pain, but multiple shots landed near our hooves. Instead of prancing around, I charge with my sword drawn. "Twilight, stay back!" I yelled. "Fine!" She yelled back. She kept shooting as I ran towards their camp. Apparently, two unarmed ponies ran towards me. They stood on their hind legs in a line. I stood still, but not panicked. THey finally stood up to me and swung a hoof, yet their plan failed. I teleported behind the line and stabbed one of them, leaving the blade inside the body. The first one turned around, but I jumped over him and pushed him towards the blade. "Good job, me!" I said to myself. I grinned about my accomplishment, but I heard grunts behind me. I turned around, seeing Twilight being dragged on her back, still being conscious, and also being strangled. She grabbed the arm on which she was choking on. "Let me go! Stop!" She tried to reach towards me, yet I was a few yards away. I started to run towards her, but a metal object hit my head... //-------------------------------------------------------// The Fatal Betrayal //-------------------------------------------------------// The Fatal Betrayal Dewlap groaned as he woke up from abdominal pain. He raised his head, not knowing what would come. "Twilight? Twilight, where are you…?" He croaked. He waited a while. No reply. He started to worry when his eyes shot open. "Twilight! Run, they're going to…!" Silence replied to him. He got up as he rubbed his head. He looked around, yet his eyes haven't ajusted yet. he reached to grabbed onto something to support himself, but he was pushed down by something vicious. "Stay down!" Somepony said. Dewlap was being forced down, yet he struggles to get up. "Please! I've done nothing wrong to you! Even if I did, I don't remember!" Dewlap cried out. He tried to move, but the force of the opposing pony was stronge. With all his might, he tried to raise his cheesy foot to retaliate. Suddenly, the weight was lifted for a second, but it got worse. The pony pushed Dewlaps front leg onto the floor in an irregular way, and then snapped it. Dewlap yelped in pain, but to his relief, his eyes finally adjusted. The bad part was that he could only think of the room as a kitchen. "Let the animal go." Said a rather smug voice. I could finally get up, but the predicament was that there was a sharp feeling of pain. Despite the tone of voice, Dewlap could give many thanks to this pony. "Thanks. What brought you to do that?" Dewlap said. When he turned around, he jumped back as if he was punched in the gut. The unknown pony was Shining Armor. "What an appearance you've made." He said, clapping his hooves together. Dewlap snarled in response. Shining recoiled back. They both didn't want to make a repeat of the last time they encountered. "Now tell me: how did you survive?" He asked. "Where's Twilight?!" Dewlap shouted. He lunged at Shining Armor, but Shining stepped out of the way, so Dewlap slammed into a cabinet. Dewlap groaned as he struggled to pull his head out of the compartment. Shining Armor laughed as Dewlaps head popped out. "I swear, when I get my hands on you, I'll-" "Don't say anything you'll regret." Shining growled. "Tell me where Twilight is!!!" Dewlap yelled. "Away from our vicinity." Shining said in a deep voice. "She's safer away from you, yet you are quite the companion." "Companion?!" Dewlap yelled in disapproval. At this point, Dewlap was ready to fight, with or without a weapon. "You've got nothing on your side, how are you going to escape. I have the advantage." Shining said with triumph in voice. Dewlap just realized that, but he also remembered that they are in some kind of kitchen. So there must've been a knife somewhere! Dewlap looked around for a sharp object, maybe a pan as well. He finally caught sight of a knife on the counter behind Shining Armor. He levitated the knife and swung it at Shining Armors side. "Gah! You little!" Shining Armor yelled. Dewlap ignored him as he made a dash for the back door. The door bursted open, which alerted unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies. Some went around to scout around, but Dewlap went out into the open. Unicorns that caught sight of him casted spells, pegasi gave chase, accompanied by earth ponies. One earth pony caught up to him and rammed into his side. He tumbled down a hill, with pain stabbing him everywhere. Dewlap finally stopped moving, yet he was surrounded by ponies. "You want me? Well, you can try." Dewlap muttered. Everypony charged to the center, but Dewlap evaded by shooting to the sky. Everypony on the ground was dumbfounded as their heads knocked together. Dewlap had been growing a grin of success. "Alright, next objective: find Twilight." He said under his breath. He then, continued forward without caution, but his plans were stopped by seeing a medical building down below. He hesitated and then let himself drop slowly. As he gently laid himself on the ground, he checked his surroundings It was silent in all directions, so he quietly opened the door. Once there was a hole big enough to fit in, he slipped inside. In there room, there we're cabinets, beds, and trays. There was a sharp pain on the back of his head. He reacted to that and started looking for some binding tape to at least supress the pain on his head. He opened cabinets and drawers, yet no luck. "Come on, give me something!" Dewlap shouted as he opened a box. He finished opening the last container in the room and then proceeded to the next room. The door bursted open to reveal a small room with a patient on a small bed, surrounded by doctors. "One of you, get binding tape and wrap it around my head!" They were all quivering with fear, but one mare stood up slowly. She was a pale earth pony with a very bright mane color. She opened a drawer and som binding tape. She then, started to wrap some of it around his head. "You're strange." She said to him in a quiet voice. She start to slow down and then stopped. "Thanks, I'll find something to pay you with!" Dewlap said. As he opened the door infront of him, he closed it and turned around. To his astonishment, Twilight was on a bed in the room. Her condition was great if there wasn't cloth wrapped around her front left leg. "Dewlap! How did you get pass my brother?" She asked with amazement in voice. "Stabbed him." Dewlap replied. He looked down at her leg. "Tell me what happened." "Hey, I'm fine." "Tell me." Twilight sighed. "A pony made a severe cut, I bled and I'm better now." She said. Dewlap made a sigh of relief. Dewlap was startled when Twilight picked up a book from a shelf. She started flipping pages. "Book of spells." She said. "Let's see, temporary magic disabling spell. Want to try?" She asked. Dewlap shrugged his shoulders in response. "So, how do we cast a spell?" Dewlap asked. "First, we need to know how to duel. Look here." She said, pointing to a very good illustation of two unicorns facing each other. It appeared to look like both of the were casting spells, the result being lightning coming from both their horns. The lightning was also two colors, with a white bead being the border. "Hm, seems simple." Dewlap said. "Not exactly, first you got to cast your spell, and then that happens," she said, pointing to the picture. "Now, you got to concentrate on your spell. The white sphere tells which one is stronger, so far. So let's say we were dueling. If the sphere hits my horn, your spell would effect me. Same goes with you." She said. She got off her bed and got into a fighting position. Dewlap did, as well. They circled around the bed. Twilight finally casted the disabling spell and Dewlap did the same to counter her. The streak of lightning appeared from our horns. "Whoa!" Dewlap suddenly yelled. The sphere went dangerously close to his horn. Dewlap concentrated hard enough to push it towards Twilight. Twilight was trying to counter it, yet she couldn't force the sphere back. The sphere inched closer to her horn. Twilight tried as hard as she could, yet no luck. It finally, made contact with Twilight, making her recoil back to the wall. She tried levitating the spell book, yet all her horn did was flicker and sputter. Twilight gasped in amazement. "Wow! You are fantastic!" Twilight told Dewlap, who started to blush a bit. "Shall we exit the room." Dewlap said in a buff voice. Twilight gave a face of disapproval. Dewlap frowned and started to open the door to the next room, which apparently led to outside, which was extremely quiet. "How 'bout we learn more spells?" Dewlap suggested. "Good idea!" Twilight said. They went back inside to look in the fabulous wonders in the book. They flipped to a random page, which showed a spell that explodes on contact. The illustration was a pony being thrown back by the spell. They both bit their lips and then flipped to another page. The spell was an electricity spell. They both had a face which showed that they could use this spell. They looked at how to cast it, and then flipped to another page that showed a light spell. It said that if you hit a target, it blinds the target temporary. "Ok, ready to go?" Dewlap had asked. "Let's go!" Twilight said with adventure in her voice. As Dewlap opened the door, there was a swish noise in the distance. It came closer, and a green sphere hit the door, blowing it into discarded pieces of wood. Dewlap stared down, with his mouth wide open. A high-pitched squeal came out of his throat. Twilight peeked outside and saw that Shining Armor and a companion were out in the open. Twilight looked back at Dewlap, who was still making the noise. "Dewlap, you alright?" Twilight whipsered. "Dewlap?" Twilight repeated. She elbowed his right leg, and continued to the door. "Ow! What was that for?" Dewlap said. Twilight glared back at him. Twilight started waving to Dewlap to get closer to the doors original place. Dewlap got below Twilight and popped his head outside. Shining Armor was pacing around and searched the surroundings of the building. Twilight dashed out and striked Shinings companion. Her brother, had turned around and casted a spell. Dewlap grunted as he shot electicity at Shining Armor. Their spells had hit each other, starting a duel. The bead had came closer to Dewlaps horn. Twilight saw them both and ran closer. "Stay out of this Twilight!" Shining Armor yelled to Twilight. "You don't know what you're-" "I said: STAY OUT OF THIS!!!" Shining Armor barked. The bead of light was forced to Shining Armor. Suddenly, other ponies came out, but only to be hit by Twilight's Spell. One retaliated, forcing Twilight into a duel. Dewlap started to give up, not caring if he got hit or kill again, yet he didn't. Courage surged through his body. A wave of electricity bursted out of his horn, making the bead an inch away from Shining Armor's horn. A pony groaned in the backround, meaning that Twilight won the Dewlap. "Yes! Dewlap, hurry up!" Twilight said as ponies closed in on Twilight. Dewlaps urge to win the duel went away as Twilight whimpered. Shining Armor started to approached Dewlap, and then broke into a run. Their horns touched each other, causing an explosion that made Dewlap fly backwards onto the ground. He fell on his back, erupting into massive pain and with his ears ringing ears. Dewlap looked around for Twilight, and then he caught sight of her being surrounded by... changelings? Dewlap was sure there weren't any on the field. Yet, there was. Shining Armor had been flung back onto a wall, only to have the same amount of pain. He groaned as three of his legs snapped. Dewlap crawled to Shining Armor to helped him, but he was intercepted by a changeling. He tried to use the last of his magic to at least teleport behind the intercepting changeling. As his horn glowed, he broke down into pieces and went three feet closer to Shining Armor. He started to crawl closer, until a changeling tackled him. The changeling held all of Dewlaps hooves on the ground and was about to conjure the spell that he always feared. Dewlap closed his eyes gently, but he was interrupted by Twilight kicking it off Dewlap. Twilight had put a hoof on the changelings chest and pointed a pistol at the bridge of its nuzzle. "Nobody kills him in my life again." She said with anger building in her voice. The changeling bared its fangs as it wanted to bite Twilight. With out hesitation, she pulled the trigger, thus puncturing the skull. Twilight looked down at Dewlap and started to drag him to her brother. When they approached Shining, he refused to get closer to Dewlap. He flailed as Twilight came to pick him up. "No! My back-!" He yelled Snap! "Stop. It's his arm, he'll be fine." Dewlap said, looking at Shinings oddly bent arm. "We need him back at our tent." Twilight informed. Twilight started to close her eyes, preparing for a teleportation spell. The tipped of her horn glowed, starting to cover all three of them. The light faded away, showing them that they were in their tent. Dewlap opened his eyes, got up, and started shuffling through a pile. Dewlap grabbed something a bit sharp, and pulled it out. To his relief, it was his crown. "Now, Shining, this may hurt a bit." Dewlap said. Shining raised an eyebrow in confusion. When Dewlaps horn started to glow, Shinings leg had been making snapping noises and was in a normal position. "There, wasn't so bad, right?" Dewlap said. "Wasn't so bad?!" Shining exclaimed. "I've been through worse, you little shit." Dewlap growled. "Touche." Shining said. Twilight cleared her throat. "Sorry, Twilight. This asshole was complaining about the pain her was in." "OK, one, you two need to bond a bit. Two, you need to improve your magic if you'd like to keep your life." Twilight said to her brother. "Is that a threat?" Shining said. "Think of it as advice." Twilight said to him. "Alright, fine, but what's the stroy of you two?" He asked. Dewlap explained and told his side of the story, from the death of Dave, (Dewlap kept pausing with flashbacks) to killing Rainbow Dash. Once Dewlap finished, Twilight began her story about the past. "Dewlap, what did you say about Dave?" Shining asked him. "H-he's dead." Dewlap said. "I'm not so sure about that. I saw him during training, but he was wearing a cloak to cover half of his head all the time." Shining said. Dewlap felt happy once Shining told him, but had this feeling of hatred. "Dewlap, you have a chance now." Twilight said to him. "Yes, I do, but that doesn't seem right. We saw him die infront of our eyes." Dewlap said with a sad feeling. "You guys are coming with me, I don't think he's the same" "Dewlap, I found the fake body!" Shining yelled. Sparks flew up in the air, showing his location. Dewlap ran through bushes and trees and found Shining Armor. "Right here, guys." He said as Twilight ran next to Dewlap. "Hmm, you're right about him being alive, the body should've decayed by now." Twilight said. "Still, after two years." She muttered. Everything remained silent until Shining Armor moved. "Twilight, look out!" Shinging pushed Twilight as a jet of green light flew at Shining Armor. As he was hit by the jet of light, he fell down as if it was caused by forced. With Dewlap in shock, Crysalis and few other changelings came out of the bushes. "Well, if it isn't the king himself." Chrysalis said with a maniacal tone. "I see your little friend here is hurt. What a shame." She said. "What did you to him?!" Dewlap yelled. Chrysalis cackled at the question. "I'll kill you if you don't stop it!" Dewlap exclaimed. "Stun them," she immedietely said. Changelings threw spells at them, successfully striking them. Dewlap and Twilight fell to the ground, feeling their insides being ripped to shreds. "Dave, come and murder these two meat piles." "With pleasure," a pony said. He came out, his face half black, with the edge of the blackness was grabbing to the other side. "Hello, Dewlap," Dave said. Dewlap looked up at him in anger and sadness. To Twilight's horror, Dewlap was pleading for his life. "Dave, please," he said with his voice shaking like mad. "Please. Please, Dave." He said quietly. Dave made his horn glow jet black, until Dewlap yelled, "I'll duel for my life!" He said with tears streaming down his face. Twilight was struck with emotion when Chrysalis only smiled. "I'll let you duel, but before you duel me," she gestured to Dave. Dewlap got up, struggling to even be on his knees. His legs were shaking and weak, yet he got up. Dave and Dewlap faced each other and strafed in a circle. Dave stopped to cast a death spell, but Dewlap countered it with the light spell. They both had it each other, cause lightling to form from their horns. The bead also created lightling, hitting trees, but didn't burn or even move them. Dewlap tried hard to move the white bead, but it only went back. Moments later, the bead moved away from Dewlap, which was inches away from his horn. The bead moved faster towards Dave, making him more alert. Finally, it touched his horn, making him recoil and cover his eyes. "I won, now I face you." Dewlap said, but Chrysalis only giggled. "Sure, you can fight me, but first," She said. She casted a grey spell, which had hit Dewlap. He fell to the ground again, but his eyes showed him the horror if the changelings defeated them. Ponyville was completely in oblivion. Raging fires, screaming, and visits from death himself. The images stopped, but Dewlap was horrified. "Now!" Said a southern accent female. Ponies jumped out from the bushes, mostly orange and yellow-orange. They tackled the changelings, either snapping their necks or their spines. As Twilight was helped, an orange mare with a cowpony hat had grabbed him from the neck. "Please, I helped Twilight as well!" Dewlap said. When Dewlaps head gained some purple, she had let go. "Fine, but your comin' with me to that barn," she said. She dropped Dewlap to the ground, leaving him gasping for air and coughing. "You're lucky you're alive," Twilight said as she helped Dewlap up. "She's pretty stronge for a mare." "No shit, Sherlock." Dewlap murmurred. //-------------------------------------------------------// Christmas //-------------------------------------------------------// Christmas "Well, sugercube. Haven't seen y'all in a darn tootin' time." Applejack said in a pleasant voice. Dewlap sighed and kept following Applejack, and he also ignored her as well. "I haven't seen you as well." Twilight said with a grin. "I still don't understand, where are we going?" Dewlap asked. "You haven't heard of a barn before, haven't you." Applejack said. "What's a barn?" Dewlap asked with curiosity building inside of him. "We'll see it sooner or later." Twilight said. "I don't appreciate getting the evil eye a lot." Dewlap said. It was true, many ponies around him were looking at him, or at least shrunk. Applejack sighed, took off her hat, and put it on Dewlaps head. Dewlap had grinned a bit as Applejack turned around. "You should be happy, she cares about her hat so much." Twilight whispered into Dewlaps ear. "Well, we're all here." Applejack said with a drawl. She pointed to a enormous barn connecting to several other buildings. Dewlap looked at a small tree, which had fillies coming out of the door. "Big sis', finally bucked an apple tree!" a filly said with a red mane and tail, and a yellow-ish coat. She was joined by five other fillies, three of them being earth ponies. "That's great, Applebloom." Apple said with a big smile. "I still can't believe we have to live with these four blank-flank babies!" A filly with a rather stylish mane and purple coat. Applejack walked up to her and broke the filly's right leg. "Ow!" "Ah still can't believe y'all fancy ponies can break legs." Applejack said as a comeback. Four fillies giggled at the fancy filly. "You, Ah want you to meet these fun, and quite mean folk." Applejack said. "These here, is Applebloom, ma little sis' and first member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders! This is Scoots', second member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders! Now, this is sweetiebell, the third member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders! "Their life dream is to earn a Cutie Mark, trying to find a talent in their nature!" Twilight added. "What's your dream?" The three fillies said in unison. Dewlap knelt down to be head level with the three fillies. "Well, I guess I always wanted to be a teacher." Dewlap said. Twilight tried hard to keep her laughter inside, but she stopped, bursting into laughter. "Sorry to break your dreams, sport, but I'll get a teaching degree first!" Twilight said. "Don't be a Diamond Tiara, Twilight!" Scootaloo said. "Hey!" Diamond Tiara yelled. "Is that a challenge?" Dewlap said, raising his right hoof. "You could say that it is a challenge." Twilight said. "Well, I accept this challenge." He said, adjusting his hat. "And you know what, I think I'll join the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I always wondered if a unique changeling can develope a cutie mark." The trio grew a huge grin as Dewlap declared his statement. Twilight decided to stop argueing and kissed him. "Ew!" The fillies all said as they backed away. "That's enough, lover-boy!" Diamond Tiara said. Twilight and Dewlap looked at her with disgust, but Dewlap saw a cape that the Crusaders had on their back. "Say, where can I get one of those?" "You can find my sister, Rarity! I'm sure she'll make one your size!" Sweetiebell said in a happy tone. A earth pony came out from behind Applebloom. "Hey, guys. What's going on?" She said in a nasal voice. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Dewlap. "Oh right, ma little cousin, Babseed." Applejack said. "She's the fourth member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. She's afraid of your kin." She said. "Let's brighten our spirits! Ya want pie?" Applejack said. "I do!" The trio said in unison. Dewlap looked at Twilight reluctantly. "Twilight, two years, I haven't told you my full name, and don't laugh." Dewlap said pointing at her. "That makes harder not to laugh." Twilight told him. "Ugh, ok. My name is Dewlap MarshWater." Dewlap said. Twilight stifled a laugh. "that was regrettable." Dewlap said. "Come on, it is funny!" Twilight exclaimed. Twilight kissed him for a brief moment and ran towards the barn. "Come on , MarshWater! I'm already beating you!" "You're on!" Dewlap yelled as he ran towards Twilight. As he caught up to Twilight, he started to run backwards and whistled I Can't Decide. "Showoff!" Twilight yelled him. Dewlap stopped whistling when he had bumped into the side of the barn. "Ow, I guess I deserved that anyways." Dewlap said as he rubbed his hind quarters in pain. "Sure you do, Dewlap." Twilight said as she helped Dewlap up. "Come on, guys. I want to study my spells!" Sweetiebell said in the distance. Twilight and Dewlap smiled at each other. "I would still be a better teacher." Dewlap blurted out. Twilight punched his right leg and kissed him as she hugged him. "OK, too much affection! I want to go inside the barn now." He said as he pushed Twilight away. As they approached the door of the barn, music was blaring loadly. Once Twilight opened the door, she gaped. Music was louder than firing a gun, screams were at every corner, and there was one mug of cider left on a table. "Mine!" Dewlap said as he rushed towards the mug of cider. "Oh no, you don't!" Twilight yelled as she magiclly grabbed Dewlaps tail. "No! I need my cider! I need it!" He yelled. "I don't need you becoming even more crazy by going drunk!" Twilight yelled. Dewlap was too late. The last mug was was taken. "No!" He yelled as he pounded the ground. "You were better off without the cider, you idiot." Twilight muttered. "I needed it!" Dewlap yelled. "You need to stay sane to fight and at least live for more than a day!" Twilight used as a lecture. Dewlap sighed. "Yes, I suppose." He said as he rubbed dust off of his body. "How ya doin'?" Applejack said as she popped out of nowhere. "Ah! Don't do that to me!" Dewlap shouted at Applejack. "Ah got y'all some pie." Applejack said as she brought out pie. "What kind of pie do you have?" Dewlap asked suspiciously. "Apple pie." Applejack said. Dewlap reluctantly took a piece of pie and started to eat it. "Could use a bit of milk." Dewlap said. "Ya ready to go inside, now?" Applejack said in a happy tone. "Sure." Dewlap said. Dewlap and Twilight followed Applejack to the back door and entered the barn. They went through a corridor which led to three doors, all of them being unoccupied. "That's your room , Twilight." Applejack said as she pointed to the door to their left. "And your room is there." Applejack said as she pointed to the door to the right. "Now y'all should get some sleep, tommorow is Christmas." "Christmas?" Dewlap asked. Applejack took her hat back as Dewlap frowned. "Shoot, I forgot!" Twilight yelled. "Oh well, I am tired anyways." Twilight said after she yawned. Dewlap entered his room, supplied with a bed, a lit lamp, and a drawer holding the lamp. Dewlap had gotten to his bed and got in it. Just as he was about to turn the lamp off, Twilight came inside the room. "Oh, and I'll tell you about how Christmas came to be." Twilight siad. Dewlap sat up as Twilight lied next to him. "There once was a generous pegasus, and unlike other pegasi, he treated others as equals. Once every year, on the twelfth month and the twenty-fifth day, he'd set out to give gifts to poor families, mostly earth ponies. He'd give them money, food, and toys. "But on a certain year, soldiers came to him and shunned him for being generous, for they were thought as workers, not normal ponies. The soldiers arrested him, because they thought their way of life would be destroyed if earth ponies had money, thinking that they could buy their life, leaving the unicorns and pegasi to work for the earth ponies. "When he went in his cell, he had one bit of currency left. He threw it out the cell window, wondering if it could last. "Years elapsed, until one day, guards had set the pegasus free, and also arresting the captain of the soldiers. They gave the pegasus a loaf of bread and money. As the generous pegasus passed the captain's cell, he stopped and gave the captain his loaf of bread, but the captain only spat at it, thinking it was shameful if anypony had received food from a unicorn or pegasus who helped earth ponies. "As he went outside, he had picked up the coin he threw out of his cell, seeing that it did not melt through the burning sunlight, or freeze. And so his method went on, giving his valued belongings to earth ponies, never being sent to jail again." Twilight got up as she finished the story. "That was a lot more profound than I thought it would be." Dewlap said. Twilight giggled after he said that. "Well, thats one way to kill the mood." Twilight said. After Twilight had left, Dewlap started to closed his eyes, wondering about how someone could have the courage to do that. When Dewlap woke up, Twilight had been setting up lights around the ceiling and colorful boxes were set up next to his bed. "What's happening?" Dewlap asked. "Merry Christmas to you too, buddy." Twilight said. Dewlap chuckled as he got out of bed. "It's Christmas, remember?" Twilight asked. They both hadn't realized they had met in the middle of the room with a mistletoe dangling over them. Twilight looked up. "Oh look, a mistletoe." "Is that supposed to represent something important?" Dewlap asked. "Sure, I guess." Twilight said with a smile. Dewlap was curious to know what it meant, but Twilight kissed him blissfully, and surprisingly, Dewlap was kissing her back as well. Love was his only emotion on at this point- "Hey, Dew-" Shining said after he opened the door. Dewlap and Twilight jumped away from each other and whistled as they pretended to fix the Christmas lights in Dewlap's room. "Oh hey, Shining. How are you this morning." Twilight said in a rather convincing voice. "We're just checking to see if the lights work!" Dewlap said with a fake grin. "Um yea, merry Christmas, Dewlap." Shining said with confusion. "Merry Christmas!" Twilight and Dewlap said in unison. "That was uncalled for." Dewlap said after Shining closed the door. He looked at the boxes next to his bed. "So what's this about all about?" He asked. "Presents, from me and others." Twilight said. "Well I do like free items." Dewlap said "Jerk." Twilight grumbled. Dewlap opened a small box with a cape in it. A note dangled at the emblem; it read: For joining the Cutie Mark Crusaders. From: The Cutie Mark Crusaders. Dewlap smiled as he read the note. He grabbed the cape, flung it behind him, and ran around, looking behind himself as his cape flew behind him. "This, I like." Dewlap said. "Hey, you can get carried away at times," Twilight smiled. "But this, I love it!" Dewlap smiled at her, and then he looked back at the presents. There were only two left next to his bed. "I love this, and you. I mean the decoration, yeah!" Dewlap grinned nervously. Twilight understood what he had said and blushed, but she pretended not to notice; all she did was smile. Dewlap grabbed a box with orange shading. He opened it, revealing a black colored western hat. Dewlap wore it with his cape, showing happiness in his face. Dewlap held the last box which was purple, being quite obvious that it was from Twilight. He opened it, showing a scarf that was black, grey, and white in that exact pattern. Dewlap was stunned by this rather beautiful scarf. "It's uh, beautiful," Dewlap said. He turned around to look at her. "Like you." He whispered. Twilight's face turned red, and then Dewlap kissed her. Dewlap finally showed his feelings for her. Twilight had done her part in this love story, now it was Dewlap's turn. They had stopped, still happy. Dewlap wraped his new scarf around his lower face and neck. He started to open the window and slid outside. "Where are you going?" Twilight asked as she followed Dewlap. "Want to go on an adventure?" Dewlap asked. Twilight smiled and spoke, "I just went on an adventure. I really don't need you lost again." Twilight smiled, knowing that whatever crazy and comical thing he has to say, she'll smile. "I noticed a building with a "KEEP OUT" sign on the entrance. I've been wondering if I could have you along side me to reveal what's in that building." Dewlap said. Twilight sighed. "Sometimes, you can be such an idiot," Twilight said. "Yet it can be good." Twilight said. Dewlap smiled and took her with him anyways. They ran towards the building, but Twilight noticed that the ceiling was missing a lot of planks. As they got towards the door, Dewlap gestured to let her in first. "Why me?" Twilight asked. "Because I'm not the fate of the universe." Dewlap replied. "Well what if I'm not the fate of the universe?" Twilight asked. "It gives me another excuse." Dewlap said. Twilight facehoofed as she began to shiver. She opened the door, stepping into a circle of rope, releasing a trap. Bricks strapted to rope fell down, bringing Twilight in the air upside down. "Twilight, hold on!" Dewlap said. "I really don't want to make a pun while I hang around, right?" Twilight said. Dewlap groaned due to that terrible pun. Twilight smiled as she turned paled and shivered. Dewlap looked at her state and ran towards her. Dewlap unraveled his scarf and wrapped it around Twilight's neck. Dewlap looked up as changelings and Chrysalis came down. "How do they know where we are all the time?" Dewlap said. Dewlap took action by erupting a blaze of fire at Chrysalis. Chrysalis flew to the side and touched the floor of the building. She approached Twilight with an maniacal smile. "Get away from her!" Dewlap yelled. "Are you prepared to fight, because this little pest can become the answer to your problems." Chrysalis said. "You cannot call her that, not once. Never!" Dewlap screamed. Chrysalis smiled and conjoured a green spell with a sparkling trail. Dewlap jumped out of the way, letting the spell explode away. Chrysalis kept casting spells here and there, but Dewlap kept jumping out of the way. Finally, Chrysalis casted a spell which flew infront of Dewlap, making him stop, but Chrysalis counjoured a killing curse, striking Dewlap in the heart. "Dewlwp? Dewlap, you monster!" Twilight shouted in sorrow. Chrysalis laughed maniacly, pulling out Dewlap's crown. "What are you doing?" Twilight asked in fear. "For good measure," Chrysalis said. "He won't get in my way anymore." She laid it on the ground and stomped on it, making it shattering into peices. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Race //-------------------------------------------------------// The Race Dewlap opened his eyes, finding himself near the Ponyville train station. It was all white, but there were shadows. Three alicorns flew down to him. Celestia, Luna and the third one being hooded and unknown. "Where am I" Dewlap asked. Celestia smiled. "Why, you're at the Ponyville train station." Luna said. "Is it not obvious?" She asked. Dewlap looked at the ground and shook his head. "No, but am I dead?" Dewlap asked. The hooded pony spoke in a gentle voice, "You're merely dead and merely alive. You escaped me once, with that crown of yours." "Dewlap, we introduce you to Death," Celestia said as she gestured to the hooded pony. "He can be lenient at times, but you provoked him, many times as well." She said with a frown. "The train will come any moment now, Dewlap, but you must walk with us." Luna said. They group walked away from the train station, waiting for a discussion. Dewlap spoke, "Why am I here?" "For a little promise, and you must keep it." Celestia said in a whisper. "Death allows you to have a chance to defeat Chrysalis, but this is the last chance he gives to you." Luna said. Death hung a leg around Dewlap's neck. "I had a spot for you and Twilight, and to be honest, I never cared if you or Chrysalis won the war. Now, if you do sucseed, I will let you say goodbye to Twilight, and we shall depart from the living world, and you can give her a part of you to make her remember." Death said. They arrived in Twilight's library, and sat down at table. "And let's say if you don't sucseed in defeating her, I shall make you a ghost, to make you feel being unseen and avoided, for a little payback," Celestia and Luna frowned. "You must not argue with me, I can take you away whenever I want." "To go back, you must take the train back to the living world. You will sucseed in this, Twilight cannot defeat Chrysalis by herself." Luna said. "Wait, are you two dead?" Dewlap asked. Celestia chuckled as Luna smiled. "We're still alive, but in a weak and captured state," Celestia said. A train whistle blew in the distance. "You must go, you'll have as much time as you need." She said. Dewlap walked away, until Luna grabbed him by the shoulder, turned him around, and kissed him. "Sister, I want to accompany him on the train." Luna said. Celestia smiled in approval. Luna flew up and went towards the train station. Dewlap followed as Luna went down. Dewlap touched down at the station platform and followed Luna into the train. They sat down next to each other and blushed every time they looked at one another. "You accompanied me, why?" Dewlap asked. Luna smiled at the question as her heart pounded in her chest. "Because you are not like an ordinary changeling. You use love for good, even knowing that changelings feed on that emotion." Luna said. They scooted next to each other, both having love inside of them. Finally, Luna kissed Dewlap and hugged him at the same time. Flowers bloomed in the train cart. Dewlap hugged her back, showing his affection for Luna. They stopped, holding hooves with each other. "I love you like none other, Luna. I think you'd ought of known that." Dewlap said. Luna smiled with a loving heart. "As do I." Luna said. Dewlap picked up a rose and handed it to Luna. She looked down at it and smiled. They kissed once more, waiting for the train to stop moving, but wanting it to stay in movement forever. The train wheels hissed, meaning that they arrived at the gateway to life. They saw Death at the gate with a spear. "Luna, I can put you next to him once you wake, to help him." Death said. Luna smiled. "I'd love it." Luna said as she smiled at Dewlap. "Well then, I shall let it happen." Death told her. Death touched Luna's forehead and shined. The gate opened, showing them a silver path. Dewlap and Luna walked on the path, holding hooves, until a bright light blinded them. "Wake up, please!" Twilight yelled at the discarded body of Dewlap. Luna's body appeared next to Dewlap's body. Was she dead as well, Twilight asked herself. They bodies stood up, coughing their hearts out. "No! You're suppose to be dead! Away with you!" Chrysalis yelled. Luna stepped up to Chrysalis. "You should be saying that to yourself," Luna said. Twilight hung upside down with a gaping mouth. "Now, we duel." Luna said. Chrysalis backed away in preparation. "Go help Twilight." Luna whispered into Dewlap's ear. Dewlap nodded and went to Twilight. He looked back at Luna, who conjoured a magic disabling spell, which touched Chrysalis' killing spelling, making lightning making touch the white bead . The white bead started out close to Luna, but slowly making it's way to Chrysalis. Electricity sprouted from the white bead, hitting the wall to the left of Luna, making in explode. Shining Armor bursted through the door, gasping at the scene. "Dewlap? Could you cut me free?" Twilight asked. "Oh, right. Sorry." Dewlap said. He looked at the knot, being quite tight. More electricity came, hitting the rope this time. Twilight fell down and hit the floor with her head. The bead touched Chrysalis' horn, knocking her back. "You'll regret this!" Chrysalis said before she flew away with her fellow changelings. They all retreated, flying away, screaming and hissing. Dewlap ran towards Luna. "You did it, well not exactly, but you get the idea." Dewlap kissed Luna blissfully. They smiled at each other. Shining Armor walked to the left of Dewlap as Twilight walked to the right of Dewlap. "Wow, Twilight. Looks like you have a competition." Shining Armor said. Dewlap elbowed him on the leg. "What? It's true!" He said. Luna had her face flushed with red. "This is going to be a love triangle, isn't it?" Dewlap said. "Yep." Shining Armor said. "You're actually the first pony, er, living thing that noticed that." Twilight said. "Afraid so." Luna said. The group groaned at the fact. "Well then, I think this is how a love triangle is suppose to work," Shining Armor said. "Two mares like one stallion, or vise-versa. They compete to see who would go out with who. In laymare's terms, they fight to the death." Dewlap looked at Luna and Twilight in confusion. "If you put it in that way, it seems like a terrible thing." Twilight said. "This won't go out good, would it?" Dewlap said. "Ah, I see what you did there." Shining Armor said. "What?" Dewlap asked. "Go out? Get it?" He replied. Dewlap groaned and went back to his room. "Now look what you did! You depressed him!" Twilight yelled at Shining Armor. "Well, that's how it's suppose to go!" Shining yelled back. Luna ignored them as she walked towrds Dewlap. She slid through the window, seeing Dewlap throwing a ball at his door. "Are you alright?" Luna asked. "No." Dewlap said. "It could've gone worse," Luna said. "Forget about that nonsense." "How do I explain what happened in that, what should I call it, afterlife?" Dewlap said. "You explain it at the end." Luna advised. "I don't think death will take me so easily." Dewlap said. Luna raised an eyebrow. "Well, I have no clue, then." Luna said. Dewlap paced around the center of the room. Luna looked above Dewlap, who had a mistletoe above him. Luna walked towards Dewlap, making him stop infront of her. They kissed each other, forgetting problems. The door opened quietly, then Shining Armor looked inside. Twilight's headed popped through the door and made a silent gasp. They closed the door, but Twilight was still in shock. "That was quick." Shining Armor whispered. "I can't believe it." Twilight said in a very low whisper. She sighed, wishing it was all just some dream. She went back into her room in silence and depression. Shining Armor left as well, feeling bad for Twilight. Luna ran across Twilight and looked at her. "Twilight, Celestia is, well I would rather not talk about it, but she is not well to lower and raise the sun. Could you do it for her?" Luna asked. "Sure, OK." Twilight said blankly. Twilight looked outside and saw the Sun still raised. Twilight concentrated to lower the Sun. It felt rather easy to lower the Sun. She saw the Moon rise gently, with no problems. She could hear Dewlap snore from a few meters away, but she ignored him. Luna watched Dewlap as he slept, remembering that she could enter dreams… or nightmares. Dewlap grunted and started muttering "No…" and "Away…" a few time. She resisted the temptation, but finally she broke. She closed her eyes and waited. She opened her eyes moments later and saw Dewlap in a forest, laying on a frozen lake. "Stop! Please! Take me away, not them!" He yelled. A roaring noise swirled above them. A black tornade hovered above, showing Chrysalis' head in the middle. "I'll get rid of you, but I will use you to kill her first." Chrysalis said. Luna bent down to touch Dewlap, but he burned her. The tornado projected Chrysalis' plans, showing Dewlap brutally murder Luna. Dewlap looked like he was forced to look at it, struggling to look away. Luna was horrorified at the sight when a knife had stabbed her in the projection. The dream suddenly stopped, making Luna give a sigh of relief. Dewlap woke up and panted after he woke up. "Luna!" Dewlap said. He hugged her as he started to cry. "Thank goodness it wasn't reality." He said. Luna looked at him with a sorry face and hugged him back. "It was horrific." Luna said. "You saw it as well? Fascinating." He said. "Should we tell the others?" Luna asked. Dewlap shook his head. "No, we don't need to. It was a dream, hopefully." Dewlap said. Luna was shocked at the last word he said. What could she say anyways, he was right. Mabye I should be glad that it's just a dream, Luna thought. Someone grabbed both of her cheeks and kissed her, and as always, it was Dewlap. His eyes were closed, getting rid of the allumination of his beautiful eyes, with were blue, but he never had pupils. just completely blue. "I should be glad I have you here," He said. "Really glad." They smiled at each other and went back to sleep, leaving their worries behind. Twilight overheard a race going on, and also heard that Dewlap entered. With a bit of craziness in her head, she thought that she was going to enter. I really wonder if she was. You never- or right, the story, apologies. Anyways, Dewlap was a crazy and adventurous stallion that even thought coming back from the dead wasn't mad enough, and that's why she loved him. She walked into the center room of the barn, where Dewlap looked outside and watched the track being prepared for racing grounds. "Hi Dewlap." Twilight said. He jumped in surprise. "Ah! Don't scare me like that, please." He said. "Sorry, just want to give you some good luck during the race." She said. Dewlap looked at her with confusion. "How did you know?" Dewlap asked. "I overheard a conversation in a crowd.," She said. " When does it start?" She asked. Dewlap looked delighted to answer. "Well, my dear uh, er, friend. It starts at 7:00 PM" Dewlap said. Twilight smiled and kissed Dewlap's cheek. "Bye, love you. I mean, I love you! I mean good luck!" Twilight said. She ran to the door of her room and face-hoofed. "Ugh, that was terrible!" She whispered to herself. She looked back at Dewlap, thinking about the stupid things she did in life, but she was interrupted by a flash of light infront of her. Twilight appeared infront of her. "Here, take this block of dynamite. It will help him win the race. Only explodes, doesn't damage anything." She said. "How?" The present Twilight said. "Magic! I don't need to explain shit!" Future Twilight hissed. She bursted into flames and disappeared. Twilight looked at the dynamite in her hoof and looked at Dewlap. She walked towards him and handed him the block of dynamite. "Why?" Dewlap asked. "It'll help you win the race." She said. "How?" He asked. "Because I said so." She told him. "Well, thanks. I guess." He said. Twilight walked away and entered her room . She was totally confused when solutions have to deal with time. It is was seven o-clock in the night and the racers got the starting line. Pinkie Pie was up in a hot air balloon with a microphone in her hoof. "Welcome every-pony! The annual year race will start soon! It's gonna be fun, wish there were balloons though. Anyone else want cake?" Pinkie Pie randomly said. Twilight jut got into the spectator section to watch the race, still wondering about the dynamite. Every-pony that was racing was looking confident and nervous. "Everything is allowed! Bombs, food, animals, and contraptions!" Pinkie said. "The racers are, Shining Armor! A prince that deserves better life treatment!" Pinkie said. "The next racer is Carrot Top! Who is somehow is riding a pig!" Everyone laughed at the comment. "To the right of her is Applejack! The showoff!" Applejack growled. "Next up is Big Macintosh! Usually better than you!" Everyone applauded. "To the right, Cheerilie! A toyetic teacher!" She giggled and started to eat pretzels. "Oh, these petsals suck. Next up is Dewlap, who is somehow welcomed by many famose ponies!" She said. Twilight looked at him and smiled as he shunk from his normal size. "Our last racer is Doctor Whooves! A mad pony with a box!" "Alrighty! First to the finish line wins!" Pinkie said. "Race starts when the first firework blows!" A pony came near the fireworks to light the fuse, and he did. The firework shot up in the air and started to sparkle. It blow up, releasing thousands of sparks in the air. The racers ran s face as they could once they heard the boom. Doctor Whooves pulled out some sticks of butter and threw one at Dewlap, but he ducked, making him miss. Little did he know, another flew at him at hit him in the head. He fell down, resting for a bit. Big Macintosh nudged Cheerilie as they turned. Cheerilie got irritated and jumped on him, then she started punching him. Up ahead, Shining Armor pulled out a knife and threw it at the pig Carrot Top was riding. The pig jumped, but it got tired. So Carrot Top started to run by herself. Behind all of them, Dewlap started running slower, until he stopped to catch his breath. Then, a light bulb popped over his head. He pulled out the block of dynamite and sat on it. He lit the fuse as he put on his confident face. The dynamite exploded, thrusting Dewlap to the finish line. Doctor Whooves and Shining Armor were neck and neck as they stared at Dewlap flying in the air. He flew past the finish line, setting off some fireworks. "Yes!" Twilight yelled. Everyone appluaded as the other racers were passing the finish line. Today is a good day, Twilight thought. Twilight caught up to Dewlap to congradulate him on the race. It was delightful to see him smiling once again. "Hi Twilight!" He said. They hug and kissed each other as they came close. Someone came close. "Twilight, Dewlap! Come with me, this might concern you." Shining Armor said. "What is it?" Twilight asked. "It's all of our parents." He replied. //-------------------------------------------------------// My Enemy is My Friend… or Something //-------------------------------------------------------// My Enemy is My Friend… or Something "Our parents?" Dewlap and Twilight said in unison. "Yes! They're around here somewhere, can't remember." Shining Armor said. They roamed around in the forest. "Son!" A voice whispered over to Dewlap. "Dad?" He asked. He ran towards where the whisper came from. Four figures stood behind some bushes. Two were his mother and father. He ran towards them and gave them a bear hug. "It's so nice to finally see you." His mother said. The two other poneis came to him, the stallion being blue with a rather navy blue mane and tail. The mare being a shade of pink and white mixed together, and she had a white and pinkish mane. "Oh, right," Dewlap said. He sort of forgot that Twilight and Shining Armor where still around, searching. "Twilight! I found them." He heard a squeal of excitement and rustling getting closer. He saw a silouette of Twilight in the bushes. Everybody watched as the silouette got bigger. "Son, both of us know something." Dewlap's father said as he gestured to himself and his mother. "This isn't good, is it?" Dewlap asked. His father shook his head. "Apparently, Chrysalis has team up with some armed ponies and are coming this way, not really a good situation." He said. "Living in a barn and a world that turned to thunder, what's next? Alien race?" Dewlap said. Yes, their luck has been slipping from their hooves. It was completely terrible for them. "Don't jinx us. Anyways, you need to be ready." His father said to him. His father was close to his face and stared at him for an entire eternity. "You want a tic tac?" Dewlap finally said. "I'm a little nervous here, back up a tad." He said once more. His father backed up after three eternities, making Dewlap exhale. "Get some sleep, boy. You'll need it." His father said. "Oh yes you, I'm Boron," Boron said to Twilight. "And my wife's name is Bari." Boron held his hoof out, and Twilight got the memo; they shook hooves. "I'm Twilight Velvet." Twilight said in a soft voice. "I'm Night Light." Night said in a voice a bit higher for a stallion his age; either that, or just out of pure fright, because Dewlap was a changeling king. "Are you alright?" Dewlap said. Night cleared his throat. "Sorry, it's hard to see a friendly changeling when many try to kill you." He said. "I feel that pain as well." Dewlap said with the same emotion. "Ok, now that everyone got to know one another," Boron said to make the group of seven quiet. "Are you ready to head to the enemy camp?" Everyone nodded in agreement. Boron smiled as he clapped his cheesy hooves together. "That's good, now which way is it?" Night Light face hoofed. "Boron, you're an idiot." Night said. "What? I forgot." Boron said. Night sighed. "It's that way, towards the north star." He said to remind Boron. "Thank you, to the north star!" Boron said with an adventerous tone. Dewlap went to Twilight. "Which way is north star?" He whispered. "You're stupidity kicked in again!" She hissed. Dewlap stood there in silence as the others went to an enemy camp. "Wait up!" He said after a while. They went deeper in the forest as they followed the north star. Dewlap tried his best not to fall asleep, because it was twelve o'clock at night. Shining Armor yawned a few times and almost fell asleep. "Boron, it's time we sleep," Twilight Velvet said in a tired voice. "I, uh…" Dewlap muttered. Dewlap fell asleep infront of Boron's eyes. "Fine, we'll sleep." Boron said. "About fucking time," Night Light said. "What was that?" Boron asked him. "Nothing! I only coughed!" Night used as an unconvincing excuse. "I should've heard a cough." Boron muttered. Twilight made a substitute cough like her father, making Boron a bit more convinced. They all went to sleep out in the woods as twilight dragged 'Sleeping Beauty' around. Boron kept an eye out for anybody around them. Twillight laid down next to Dewlap, wondering about how he uses his sleeping powers at a time like this. She shut her eyes and fell asleep. Dewlap got up and looked around to see if Boron was still searching. Yes, he faked his tiredness. He ran off, but Twilight woke up and caught his hoof. He tripped and hit his head. "Ow!" Dewlap hissed at Twilight. "Where are you going?" Twilight asked. Dewlap rubbed his head in pain as he looked at Twilight and sighed. "The real way." He said. "What do you mean?" Twilight asked. "Into the cave where Chrysalis and Dave are hiding." Dewlap told her. She frowned and pulled Dewlap towards her. "Don't keep a girlfriend worrying." She whispered into Dewlap's ear. Twilight kissed him as he listened. "I losted you about two times. I don't need you lost forever." She said. "I'll be fine." Dewlap said to her. She let go of Dewlap's hoof and sent him off with a good-bye kiss. Dewlap walked off into the forest, where he was no longer visible, but he could be heard. She also supressed the urge to go after him; there was a rustle off in the distance. "I'm OK!" She heard Dewlap said. Dewlap nearly broke his leg when he fell down, that's why he made the biggest lie ever. He kept casting light spells to illuminate his way. With his little incedent, he started limping a bit, because his leg had a rate of four stars. "You betrayed me!" Dewlap heard nearby. He saw a cave not so far away after the voice was heard. He walked down, giving supreme caution, until the entrance caved in. "Fuck," Dewlap muttered. "And just when I got in." He walked further into the cave, results were seeing a flame in a hole below him. He jumped down, seeing Dave putting Chrysalis hostage for some apparent reason. "You'll fail if you try to kill Ezylryb." Chrysalis said. "He doesn't deserve to be mentioned," Dave said without noticing Dewlap. "Besides, I'm better than you." Ezylryb? Dewlap got a new question in his head, next to why Chrysalis is held hostage. Splish! Dewlap accidently stepped into a pool of water. Dave lunged at him, pushing his head into the water and somehow breaking his left back leg. "I'll finally kill you!" Dave screeched at Dewlap as he pulled his head out of the water and started to cough. Dave pushed Dewlap's neck into the water, including his head. His lungs started to fill with water, replacin the air in it. He opened his mouth to make a garbled scream. Bubbles came out when his sight started to fill with black dots. "Get away from him!" Chrysalis yelled. She tackled Dave with a vigourous amount of force. Dewlap forced himself out of the water as Chrysalis attacked Dave with the most force as possible. Dave teleported away from her grasp and reappeared infront of Dewlap. "Surprise!" He yelled. He punched Dewlap upside the head, making him fall on his side and breaking his leg and hurting his head. He watched as Chrysalis and Dave attacked one another. "Why can't this be all a dream?" Dewlap whispered to himself, right before he blacked out.. Dewlap's eyes started to force themselves open, revealing that he was in hell. Why, you ask? Because he was still in the cave and Chrysalis was watching him. "Thank goodness, you're alive." Chrysalis said. "Sweet Celestia, I must've been exceedingly horrible to puppies in the past two years." Dewlap said as he rubbed his eyes. Then, something surprising happed. Chrysalis hugged him with great job. "What was that line? 'The enemy is my friend' or something." Dewlap said. "You need to stop him." Chrysalis said. "Who?" Dewlap asked. "Dave!" She said. "Why?" He asked. "Because he's trying to take the kingdoms over!" She yelled at him. "Which ones?" "Both!" She said. They spent about ten minutes of silence, then Dewlap remembered a question. "Who's Ezylryb?" He asked. "You," She said. Dewlap looked confused. "The kingdom gave you a fake name, well more like me. I went to the future and saw that no one knew who you were because I gave you that name, but I realized I haven't given your name yet, so I gave you it after you fled." "It's quite confusing with time, isn't it?" Ezylryb said. Chrysalis kissed him. He felt confused once more. First, it was all hatred and rivalry. Now, it's romance, everyone knows everyone. Why couldn't the world be like this? "Are you ready to leave?" She asked. "Problem: my leg is broken." Ezylryb said. She ignored him as she flew through the hole Ezylryb entered with. He followed her as the rocks that caved in on him exploded into pebbles. "Problem solved." Chrysalis muttered. They walked outside as Chrysalis hugged Ezylryb. Their vision bursted with bright light. "Far now, you can stay Right here, in the day Until somehow you can find, A slightly better state in mind Right here, in my arms Away from all harm You'll be safe from all flares O, I know you don't care You can raise your head up to the sky Take a deeper breath and give it time You can walk the path along the line With your shattered part of mind You said you could always stay Right here in the light of day Until somehow you can find A slightly better state of mind When I said you will fall You get nothing at all Hide your tracks beneath the line Of your shattered state of mind Is that what you heard Broken words in the dirt Gettting out into the sun Here we come, here we come Here we come, here we come Here we come, here we come Here we come You can raise your head up to the sky Take a deeper breath and give it time You can walk the path along the line With your shattered part of mind You said you could always stay Right here in the light of day Until somehow you can find A slightly better state of mind You can raise your head up to the sky Take a deeper breath and give it time You can walk the path along the line With your shattered part of mind You said you could always stay Right here in the light of day Until somehow you can find A slightly better state of mind then when day light comes through When that day is anew Then it will be time For a new state of mind When all eyes are on you You will know what to do Since you would've have found Your new state of mind When you raise your head up to the sky Take a deeper breath and give it time You can walk the path along the lines You'll always know that you'll be safe I'll be here through out your days Come find me now in the day" Chrysalis sang. They both smiled at each othher as they were safe. "You're developing pupils." Chrysalis said with a laugh. "What?!" Ezylryb exclaimed. He morphed a mirror infront of his to see his eyes. "Oh my Celestia! I am!" "Where is Ezylryb?!" Boron kept saying. "Who's Ezylryb, Celstia damn it!" Twilight shouted at Boron for minutes. "Where's Dewlap, anyways?" Shining Armor asked. "He's been gone for six hours," Twilight said. "Where did he actually go?" "Hi, guys!" Ezylryb said. Twilight looked around to see him. She saw him alright, but he was next to Chrysalis. "Dewlap, get away from her!" She yelled. Ezylryb got infront of Chrysalis and formed a tranparent shield to cover the both of them, knowing that Twilight would've actually tried to kill Chrysalis. She casted a killing spell, but as usual, it backfired. "Stop!" Ezylryb shouted. "She's a friendly now!" "I can't make sure of that." Chrysalis said. "Ok! What are you trying to say?! I'm not sure if I'm trying to kill you, or trying to help you!" Ezylryb shouted at her. They both backed down after his episode of rage. "Assure me that I can trust her." Twilight said. "She saved me," Ezylryb said. Twilight stared at him blankly. "What? Don't you think saving my life was elaborate enough?" "Ezylryb, I think we should hurry. Dave and his alliance will be heading to the barn soon." Chrysalis said. "Will someone tell me who Ezylryb is?" Twilight said. Ezylryb raised his hoof. "You're Ezylryb?" "Yes." He said. "Then why have we called you Dewlap for awhile?" Twilight asked. "Fake name." He blankly said. "Then let's hurry." Twiliht said. Chrysalis looked at Ezylryb. "Complicated alicorn, isn't she?" She said. "Yes, but she's my complicated alicorn." Ezylryb said. Chrysalis looked offended by that comment. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Siege on the Barn //-------------------------------------------------------// The Siege on the Barn Ezylryb went to meet up with the new group of eight. Boron paced around in a circle, wondering about something Ezylryb really didn't care about. He walked towards Shining Armor. "What's the procedure?" Ezylryb asked him. "We're heading back to the barn," Shining Armor said. "You know how to kill, right?" "I've killed and died." He replied. "That's assuring." Shining Armor said. Ezylryb walked next to him. "What are you trying to say?" He asked. "Nothing really. It's just that you're accident prone." Shining said with a smirk. "What? I got this, man." Ezylryb said. "I'm sure you do." He replied. Ezylryb sighed and kept walking. They got back to the barn with no harm in their way, but Shining Armor and Ezylryb kept fighting over who's better in life. They kept say "I'm better than you like this!" Or "I'm better than you like that!" Chrysalis and Twilight used their time to actually bond and kept yelling "Shut up!" Or "You guys are being childish!" At Shining Armor and Dewlap. It was a mental war against each other. "Shut up, for Celestia's sake!" Twilight shouted. Shining Armor and Ezylryb stopped and kept giving each other the evil eye. "We're finally here. Now, quit your complaining!" Boron shouted. They went inside the barn, where everyone was running around, giving orders; they knew what was happening. "Any friend of yours around here?" Boron asked. "Applejack," Twilight said. "We need to find her, she'll know what to do." She added. They ran to Applejack's room, sliding on every turn. They bursted into the door, Applejack was discussing about plans with Rarity, Pinkie, and Fluttershy, who looked more agressive than ever; the war probably changed her aditude. "Good, you three are here," Applejack said to Shining Armor, Ezylryb, and Twilight. "I'm sure the weapons are functional at this point, so y'all can operate them." "What weapons?" Ezylryb asked. "Darling, let me show you," Rarity said. "With our intelligence - and fashion - we were able to create machines for battle." She projected three mobile machines with her magic. One was a medium sized machine, having a long barrel - fine, it's a tank- and another that looked tall and bi-pedaled. It had a missile launcher on its left arm which had five chamber and a machine gun on it's right arm. The third one has an auto mobile with a cannon on it's backside. "Extremely useful if ya use 'em correctly." Applejack said. "The down side is that we had two of each, but people took them. It's impossible to take them without being noticed!" Pinkie pie with pout. The group of three looked a bit worried at the sound of that. "Unless if your a Pinkie Pie or a unicorn." Twilight said. "We're theororeticly dangerous with 'em, but they have one of each as well," Applejack said. "Oh yes! Ah ahlmost forgot, they all have what we like to called shields. They don't get blown up unless them shields are dead." She added. Applejack and the others walked up to a table with a map of the barn and around it. Fluttershy finally spoke, "I was able to round up some pheonix's to create a wall of fire," She said as she circled her right hoof around about a sixty yards around the barn. "It'll be nice and protective, so the foes don't get in." "Ah was able to make a rocket." Applejack added to her side. "That's what you're usin', Dewlap." "Actually, I'm Ezylryb. What you've been calling me was actually was a fake name." Ezylryb told her. "Oh, sorry then," Applejack said. "Anyways, Ah'll be leading the defenses, they'll inside the ring of fire." She said. "And I'm the ammunition, not really my thing. More into fashion!" Rarity said with a shrill. "Well then, we're set and ready!" Ezylryb said as himself and his companions raised their necks. An explosion interrupted their moment of enchantment. "Fuck!" He yelled. "Let's leave!" Applejack shout towards them. The seven of them ran out of the room and went to the battle machines. The ceiling was missing a few boards, with more about to fall out. "Go! Before they break the docking door down!" Applejack said. Right before Ezylryb left, Applejack grabbed his hoof and kissed him. "Stay safe." She said with a drawl. The group of three ran into the cockpits of their machines. Ezylryb jumped into the machine, with had it's weapons down and looked like it was sitting. The cockpit closed as a monitor turned on. Two joysticks were infront of him, giving him a feeling that they controlled the machine. "Alright, work your magic." He muttered. He felt the machine rise and it's weapons getting ready. He heard the door burst open with ponies infiltrating the barn. Ezylryb turn the machine to fire the chambered rockets. He released the trigger, feeling a rumble to the left of him as rockets slid out of it's chamber. "Ezylryb, I found out a way to communicate!" Twilight said in a muffled radio chatter. "Me too!" Shining Armor said. They moved their vehicles outside and saw two armies being separated by a blaze of fire illuminating the night. "Hey, guys." Ezylryb said through the radio. "What?" Shining Armor and Twilight said. "Give 'em hell." He said in a menacing voice. The tank made a clink noise and fired a shell at the enemy. The fight started to break out. Both armies started to fire bullets at the opposition. Cannon shooting cannon, pony shooting pony. There was bodies everywhere and the grass soaked up the blood. The air began to fill with smoke. The trio moved forward as a path was cleared. A tank shell came from the opposite side of the fire, exploding behind Shining Armor's tank. "Guys, I think we found their vehicles," He said. "Fire!" Ezylryb shouted into the radio. Rockets, shells, and bullets were fired. "Twilight, how are you holding up?" He asked. "A bit of steel plating is gone, but otherwise that, I'm fine." Twilight said. Their machines appeared and fired at Ezylryb's foot of the vehicle. The machine fell over, making ponies run out of the way of where it fell. He got out, trying to keep his mind steady. A tank shell flew at him with bullets at it's side. He jumped out of the explosion radius, but a bullet got to his stomach. He grabbed his stomach to atleast slow the bleeding down "Oh, let me help you," Somepony said. It was Fluttershy. "Oh dear. Terrible." She wrapped cloth around the bullet wound as others fell to the ground, dropping their guns as they died. "Better?" Fluttershy asked once she was finished. "Yes, thank you." He got back to flipping his machine back in position as Twilight and Shining Armor covered him. He finally got it back in place and jumped back in the cockpit. The monitor came back up, showing that the machine gun has to fire in burst and the fifth rocket chamber got destroyed. "Hey, you took quite an explosion. You OK?" Shining Armor asked over the radio. "Yeah, just a bullet and a few minor malfunctions with the damned thing," Ezylryb said. "Oh, Twilight. Is it bad to go button happy?" He asked. "No," Twilight said with an assuring voice. "Ok, fire!" Their rockets and shells and bullets flew in a blazing speed. "But why is it a bad thing?" "It just is!" Twilight yelled. "So Ezylryb, who are you goin' to marry?" Shining said randomly. "Wuh?" Ezylryb slurred in response. "You got Applejack, Twilight, and Luna," He said in a teasing voice. "No, I don't want to discuss plans of how to torture myself." A tank shell interrupted them as it flew at Shining Armor's tank. It hit it, giving a massive explosion. "Oh Sweet Celestia!" Twilight exclaimed. Ezylryb fired rockets and bullets at the opposing tank as Twilight rushed to her brother. Rockets were fired back at Ezylryb as the enemy tank exploded. Ponies started shooting his vehicle, makng a gass breacking sound, indicating that his shields were down. Friendlies gathered around his machine to defend him as he destroyed the enemy mobile cannon. Radio static came on. "Oh , you're alive!" Ezylryb said. "Just keeping firing!" Shining Armor shouted at him. Rockets scraped against metal as they escaped the chamber. The enemy bi-pedaled machine fired bullets and missiles at Ezylryb. He shot them down and repeated what opposer did. The enemy didn't react at the time, so the rockets hit the cockpit directly, destroying the vehicle. "Destory 'em!" Twilight yelled through the radio. He fired as many bullets until the gun overheated. Many foes were killed, except for Dave, who kept teleporting around to avoid death. Ezylryb fired rockets at the ground of the opposing army, leaving many bodies on the ground. Finally, the enemy retreated. Pheonix's flew up in the air and shown their blaze of fire. The army cheered and raised their guns in the air. Ezylryb exited the vehicle and ran towards their tank. "Ezylryb, help me help my brother!" Twilight yelled. He ran into the tank's cockpit and saw Shining Armor under steel platings. "I'm still better than you." Shining Armor croaked as he pushed some metal off him. "Sometimes I wish I stayed dead because of you." Ezylryb used as an insult. "I feel your pain." Shining Armor said. "Shut up! Both of you!" Twilight shouted as she pulled Shining Armor out of the debris. "Finally, it hurts down there." Shining Armor complained. "Great, another Rarity." Ezylryb muttered. "Well, I'd never!" Rarity said because she heard him. "So what do we do about the bodies?" Ezylryb asked. "Never really planned that far." Rarity said. "We bury 'em," Applejack said as she trodded towards the group. "Do we burn them? Hell, no." Ezylryb frowned; burning them was in his mind! "Shining, buy me a mug of cider." He said because of depression. "What?!" Shining Armor exclaimed. "Well, you actually have money!" Ezylryb shot back at him. "Then… uh," Shining Armor ran out of things to say. "I'm still not buying you a drink!" "Fine, I'll buy it myself." Shining Armor gained a moment of triumph, but his pocket felt lighter. Ezylryb snickered at Shining Armor's look on his face. "Why, you!" Shining Armor gorwled. A bullet whizzed by his a,head and penetrated Ezylryb's gut. He keeled over and clutched his stomach to stop the bleeding. "Kill him! Kill the sniper!" Ezylryb hissed out. Shining Amor teleported to the sniper up in the tree and slit his neck. Twilight ran towards Ezylryb and held his hoof. "Come on, stay with me. Just this once. One more time," Twilight whispered. "Please." Ezylryb was breathing fast and lost more blood by the second. "Fluttershy! Help me keep him alive!" "Oh, I could un, get some cloth to wrap around his body, but that's the best I can do." Fluttershy suggested. "I don't care! Just do it!" Twilight shouted. "I need to live, I can't argue with Death." Ezylryb whispered. Fluttershy came back with some bandage tape and wrapped it around the bullet wound. Blood seeped into the fabric. "I know I'll stay alive, impossible." He said. "Nothing's impossible, just highly unlikely," Twilight whispered to him. His hoof started to shake and twitch around. "Let's get him to his bed. Help me carry him." Twilight told the group. Shining Armor teleported back and helped him. "This may hurt him, be gentle." Twilight told them. They started to lift him up, until he howled in pain. "It hurts! HURTS!!!" He howled once more, clutching his stomach even harder. "KILL ME!!!" He screeched. Twilight looked at him with sorrow and hurt, but she still carried him. "Make it stop! Please!" Ezylryb shouted. They finally got to his room, where they laid him down in his bed. "Let him rest, it'll help him." Rarity told Twilight. They shut the door to let the darkness trap him. A dark figure appeared next to him. "I'm going to take you, right here and now." Death said in a furious voice. Ezylryb looked at him with petrified eyes. "Just let me leave a memory," Ezylryb whispered. A picture oof Ezylryb and Twilight in their tent after he as revived appeared on a table next to him. "Thank you." He rasped. Death loomed over him and took him away and they departed as friends. Author's Note What Ezylryb was piloting was a Mantis from Halo 4. Yes, I play Halo. Deal with it! And I was listening to Halo music as well! Deal with it More! Muahahahahah! And I finished Halo 4 in three days! Deal with it even more! Ahahahaha!! *cough* sorry, hair ball. //-------------------------------------------------------// Fighting the First Battles to the Last //-------------------------------------------------------// Fighting the First Battles to the Last More changelings approached. They stared at the sea changelings and ran towards them. Dewlap kicked one away and stabbed another. They jumped back and forth. Dave's knife broke in half. He started punch the changeling he was fighting. Another one pushed Dewlap down and held him back on this hooves. A changeling came and was starting to try to hit Dewlap. There was a thud. Dave hit the changeling that was imprisoning him. "Thanks." Dewlap said. Dave helped him up. He was panting. "Don't relax now. There could be more. And there will." He said. They ran to the town hall, which had ponies captive in there with changelings guarding it. "How do we sneak past them?" "I do know that most guards have poor eyesight. So I guess we could just knock them out." They proceeded to a guard that was alone. Dewlap hit it's neck and stepped on its head. There were two more changelings. They scouted the neighboring houses. "I'll take the left one." Dave said. They crouched and walked towards them. Dewlap pulled his knife out. They swiftly ran towards them. Dewlap killed his target fast while Dave was choking his. They finally were silenced. They walked to the front door and slightly opened it, making a creaking sound. The door stopped with a bang. A couch was blocking it. "Help me out with this, why don't you?" They pushed on the door. There was a sliding and a hissing noise. The door bursted open and Dewlap and Dave fell on the floor. Changelings were surrounding them, looking at them. "Oh, this is bad." The ponies fled the building, flailing their arms. The changelings jumped down on the floor. They blocked the doors. There were grunting noises. "Let me go now and I won't hurt you as much!" It was Rainbow dashes' voice. "Don't try to escape." Twilight was captive in the building as well. There was a whimpering noise. There was swishing noise. Dave had a sword in his hooves. "I'll help them get out. You can take these out." The changelings lunged at them and Dave quickly flew up. Dewlap kept hitting changelings that came towards him. Others were hanging on Dave's hooves. They dropped onto the floor. Blood splattered on the floor as Dewlap cuts and stabs changelings. There was cutting noises. A changeling kicked Dewlaps knife out of his hooves. He blew hits on the changeling he was fighting. Another punched his cheek. He fell on the floor. He groaned. He jumped up and kicked the enemy. "Dave, hurry up!" Another kicked his stomach. "Sorry, this is sticky!" Twilight broke free and started shooting changelings "Dewlap! More are coming here!" Twilight yelled. Dewlap coughed as changelings punched him. Rainbow dash broke free. She flew down and started a rainbow tornado around the changelings. They tornado stopped and none were left. Fluttershy flew down and helped Dewlap up. "Lets get out of ponyville as fast as we can. It's not safe now." Dave said. They ran out the front doors and to the train station. Twilight stared at the library as it was burning down. The train had many people in it. They were the last ones to get and and then the doors closed. "That was hell." It was a long trip and Ponyville was destroyed. No changelings were left. They arrived in Canterlot were everything was empty. Celestia was roaming the streets of Canterlot alone. She looked at the train as the wheels stopped and scraps the railroad. As the doors opened, Twilight zipped out of the train and hugged Celestia. Dave and Dewlap were walking out of the door eating a pound of cheese. They burped at the same time and really loudly. "Man, we need more cider and cheese more often." Dewlap said. Dave was drinking more cider and he slurs as he breaths for air. They fell on the ground, drooling. "What's wrong with them?" Celestia asked. Twilight sighed "They had a few cups of cider." Twilight told. Dewlap and Dave got up feeling nauseous. "Let's get another after this." Dewlap slurred. They laughed in a crazy way. They fell again. They closed their eyes and fell asleep. They slept for about two hours and then they shot up feeling awkward. "What happened?" Dave asked. "And why do I want to puke out all of my intestines?" They were sitting on a bed in a motel. There was water running as well. "About time you woke up." Rainbow dash said. She was reading another Daring Do book with her on the cover. "First time I saw you read a book, you said reading was for eggheads." Twilight said. Rainbow dash shot back a look. There was a waste basket beside the bed Dave was on. He grabbed it and put his head in it and puked. Twilight was staring at him as he regurgitates the cheese he ate. "Where's Dewlap?" Dave asked. Twilight pointed at the floor and at Dewlap, who slept on it. "Where are we?" He asked. "Manehatten" Rainbow dash replied. Dave didn't question why, but he wanted to ask something. "Why aren't we in Canterlot?" He asked. Twilight raised her hoof and gasped but was interrupted by Dewlap's groaning. He shook around. He got up after a few hours. "We aren't in Canterlot because Ponyville was too close to it. The entire population of Canterlot left to live in a peaceful place." Twilight said. Dewlap was drinking a bucket of cider behind their backs. Rainbow dash saw him and slapped it out of his hands "MY CIDER!!!" He yelled. it spilled on the floor and he went towards it and started licking the carpet. "You monster!" He yelled and Rainbow dash. She looked at him in disgust. "Dewlap, Dave. Go around Manehatten if you want. Even the army of Canterlot is there patrolling. Mabye you can help out." Twilight said to them. Dave wrapped his arms around Dewlap and started dragging him out the door as Dewlap grabs the carpet. As the door opens, it show many ponies roaming the city. There was laughter, crying, and sometimes screams of joy. Three guards were probing around the block. "Come on, Dewlap! You can have cider later." Dave said. They get out of the building and Twilight shut the door instantly. Dewlap finally got up after awhile. They looked at each other. "Let's go get more cider!" They said in unison. They rushed to the nearest cider store and bought gallons of it. As they sat down on a table, two strong looking stallions walk over to them. They slam their hooves on the table top and the bigger one stared and Dave with a mean look. "I dare you to have a drinking contest." The stallion said with a gruff voice. They aligned 5 cups each for Dewlap and Dave. The whole bar was watching them compete the cups. "Three! Two! One!" A horn was sounded. The stallions grab a cup and started drinking. Loud gulping sounds are made as the crowd chants 'Chug! Chug! Chug!'. Dewlap was on his fourth cup, beating Dave by one cup. Dewlap finished his last cup and then slammed it on the table. They all cheered for him. Dave finished his last cup. "All right, Dewlap. You won. Now let's join those other guards around the block." Dave said. They left the bar and joined the others. They walked around, but they haven't spotted any changelings yet. The group went around the entire city, searching. But so far, It's like Scooby Do. "He guys, I think we can stop searching." Dewlap said. The others nodded with agreement. The group separated and left each other. But once Dewlap and Dave didn't have their sights on the others, they turned into changelings and hit Dewlap. Dave watched him fall unconscious and then retaliated. Twilight and Rainbow dash got to the scene. "Dave! There's been reporting attacks of changelings!" She informed. Dave couldn't hear because of the hooves that were coming at him. One changeling fell down with a thud. "Uh, Rainbow Dash! Get Dewlap out of here and put him on the bed at the motel!" Rainbow dash obeyed and grabbed Dewlap by the arms. "Gosh! Why are you so heavy!?" Rainbow dash exclaimed. She pulled him as hard she could. As she pulled, ponies started to morph into changelings. Ones that didn't pulled out a handgun and started shooting. Bullets flew as changelings tackle ponies and murdering them as they scream in pain. More went after Rainbow dash. They rushed at them like a bull. Dave and Twilight joined them as they flee. "Come on! I got him!" Twilight told. She picked him up and then tried to run, but she could only jog. Dave picked up a gun and some clips. he looked back and started shooting. Changelings fell and shriek as he pulls the trigger. The gun clicks. Dave doesn't try to reload so he just runs with the gun in his hand. The changelings flew up and started head-butting a tall building. The side breaks and a creaking sound was made. It started to fall. "Guys, this way!" Dave implies. They ran into and alley and jump over a gate. As the tall building crashes on the ground, shards of glass flew. As they head to the bridge, changelings chase them with vicious hatred. Dewlap woke with a fright. "Ah! Wha- What happened?!" He realized that he was being carried. " I can walk!" Twilight drops him. He picks himself up and starts running after them. The stepped on the bridge and make a run for it. Changelings stopped chasing them and flew away, looking like they feared them. The group walked to a forest and placed a camp there. Dewlap was resting in a tent. Other ponies were there, so it was more of a refugee camp than some camp site. Rainbow dash seemed angry at the moment. "Gah, this is his fault! This started when he came!" She said while pointing at the tent. "We should've just killed him!" "Rainbow dash, calm down." Twilight says. "I am completely calm!" Rainbow dash shot back. "Well we couldn't just leave him here!" Dave yelled. Rainbow dash got silent. "You know, why didn't you just leave us if that's how you feel!" Dave was mad. Dewlap was his friend, as Dave helped him out, Dewlap helped Dave. Dewlap got out of the tent. Rainbow dash marched over to him and was about to punch him, but Dave and Twilight held her back by the arms. She tried to struggle. She had a mean look on her face meaning that she wanted to stab him. Suddenly, there was rustling in the bushes surrounding them, but they didn't notice that. A changeling was poked his head out behind Dewlap. It charged at him. "Dewlap, Behind you!" Dave jumps forward to defend Dewlap. The changeling tackles Dave. Its horn started to glow, making Dave get nervous. "Dave!" Dewlap yells. He rushes towards him. The changeling horn was bright and shimmering. The brightness explodes, Dave screams at the top of his lungs. It stopped. He groaned as he met death. Dewlap hits the changelings face, making it hiss. He picks it up by the head and starts smashing it on a tree bark. He yelled, continuously throwing its head back and forth. It falls on the ground. He pulls out a knife and stabs it on the eye.He looked back, and walked at the corpse of Dave. "Dewlap, you can do it," He whispered. "For me. For all of us. Can yo-" He coughed "Please Dewlap. Just do…" His last words were said. Now, no more Dave. His eyes left open, stared at Dewlap. "Why, why." He whispered. He walked towards him, laid down near him, and sobs. He punches the ground in sadness. "He could've lived a longer life!" Dewlap yelled. "This, this is the torture they give us! Those motherfuckers!" He sobs loudly. Twilight gaped and put her hoof on her mouth. "What's the big deal, many people die." Rainbow dash blurted out. Dewlap felt angry. He grabbed Dave's gun and pointed in at Rainbow dash. He moved it to the side and shot her wing. She yelps as she fell. "Ow! What was that for?!" "You should know!" Twilight yelled. Rainbow dash witnessed a death and asked 'What's the big deal?'. What a bizarre question. "You know, maybe you should leave!" Twilight felt angry and also wanted to kill Rainbow dash for her ignorance. Twilight looked back at Dewlap. He looked angry as the gun in his hoof twitch. "Yes, you can." Twilight said as if she knew what Dewlap wanted to do. He held up the gun and fired at Rainbow dash. "Oh God!" She exclaims. She ran, trying to outrun the whistling bullets that flew past her. Twilight and Dewlap were alone with each other. Twilight walked over to him. She hugged him in sorrow. "I'm sorry." She whispered. Tears streamed down their eyes. They wanted help. They weren't enemies anymore. "He tried." Dewlap told. They scattered around to find flowers. They came back with arms full with flowers. They cover him with them. They put the last two flowers and looked at each other. They nodded with sad faces. They left the discarded body, leaving it to rot. They wanted to forgot everything that happened that night.
