Prologue: The Press Confrence
Load Full Story"As Double Helix stood in the center of the bare circular room, he was under constant surveillance by the doctor. He never took his eyes off him, even when he went around his back.
'So,' he sneered gleefully, 'are you ready for this?'
He stayed his ground in that cold, metallic chamber. Helix didn't dare move a muscle and when he finally said, 'Yes,' he wished he knew what would happen to him."
An excited reporter raised his hand, and the author of the latest hot-seller, "The Rose of Eternity," Magnum Opus, turned his attention to him. The young journalist held up his pen and notepad and asked, "One more question: lately there have been rumors that you had collaborated with acclaimed author, A.K. Yearling, to make this book. Is that true?"
Magnum only smiled and replied simply, "Yes. Yes I did."
Upon hearing this the crowd went wild, with a few outcries of "I told you so!" Magnum bowed and walked back behind the royal red curtain of the tri-annual Author's Expo of Manehattan. He grabbed his copy of The Rose of Eternity he had left on an end table. The cover had a stallion with a black coat, tan mane, and golden eyes holding up a rose to eye level, staring at the reader.
Magnum removed his slouch revealing the exact same mane and eyes as the pony on the cover.
"Oh, if you only knew..."
