UNSC Spirit of Fire
Arrival
Load Full StoryInside the hull of the Spirit of Fire a eerie silence filled the ship as it drifted through space. Serina had long been deceased due to the threat of a deteriorating AI. It has been a long 100 years since their little trip, the rest of the UNSC has been exploring other galaxies. The Spirit of Fire had been sent to a galaxy on the other side of the universe far away from any UNSC or Covenant currently controlled space. The engines were left on low so they wouldn't waste energy and would keep it moving. The crew was inside cryo-tubes, sleeping in their frozen state waiting to be woken up. They had just entered a new solar system drifting towards a planet. Asteroids bounced off the armor as the ship made its way through the blockade. The ship flew past the moon slowly approaching the planet.
Princess Luna
Luna jumped out of her bed as a sharp migraine pounded her skull. The origin of this migraine was unknown to her, all that she could tell is that her horn started to go numb. When it stopped she slowly rubbed her temples with her fingers, lifting the sheets she put her hooves on the ground. Standing up she made her way over to her dresser before grabbing a robe and put it on. Walking over to the bathroom she took a quick shower, getting out she grabbed her towel and dried her fur off. Then that migraine returned but weaker, she felt something was off and she needed to find out what. Getting her dress on she made her way out her room, she turned down the hall to meet her sister Celestia.
"Good after noon Lulu, is there a reason why you are up so early?" Celestia asked.
"Yes sister, I was awoken by a migraine and came looking for you." Luna replied.
"Well, care to follow me to the garden. I was going to go for a walk do that I am done with Day Court." she added more venom to 'Day Court'. Listening to nobles debate and yell at each other was not fun at all. They began to walk to the Garden side-by-side not knowing about the warship above their small peaceful planet.
Spirit of Fire Cryo-Bay
An alarm broke the silence of the ship as they began to approach the planet. Cryo-tubes began to open letting their occupants fall to the ground on their hands and knees throwing up a silver liquid out of their lungs.
"I always hated this part." said one of them.
"Why?" asked someone.
"Who woke us up?" asked another.
"I feel like -vomits-." a crew member coughed up the silver liquid in mid-sentence.
Captain Cutter got off his knees. "Serina, status report?" he asked but got no response. "Serina respond." still no answer.
"Sir, if I may. I believe that Serina has been decommissioned due to a threat of a rouge AI." said an Engineer.
"Then we best get working again." he walked over to a command-console before activating the ships intercom. "Listen up! All personnel man you battle stations! We don't know where we are so I'm not taking any chances." another alarm activated as all 11,000 personnel got to work.
Canterlot Gardens
Celestia and Luna walked side by side as they walked through the gardens.
"So Lulu, how have been our subjects been treating you?" Celestia asked.
"Well, I still have problems time to time but they have been treating me well. I just wish my old subjects were here." Luna said looking to the ground.
"I'm sorry Luna, but they ran into the Everfree forest away from me. Sadly I do not know their fates."
"I will miss them, all of them. Natural born Lunar ponies, not magic armored Guards. I still wish I had the attention that you have. What I would do to meet a creature that would look upon my night and see something other than darkness and evil." Luna said as a lone tear made it's way down her blue cheek. A thousand years ago, natural Bat-ponies and Lunar Unicorns disappeared into the Everfree. The Night Guard was really normal ponies just the magic in their armor gave them powers and appearances of the originals.
"Now now Lulu, you know that it was their decision to run from us."
"But it doesn't make sense, the entire Lunar pony race running into the Everfree. My subjects dead and I couldn't do anything." she broke into full blown tears. Celestia tried to comfort her sister the best she could. She looked upwards to see something flying through the sky. She squinted to get a better look.
Short-Sword
"Spirit of Fire are you getting this?" asked the pilot.
"Affirmative Eagle Eye, we're getting it." said the operator. "Standby for further orders."
The Short-Sword made lazy circles around the castle for another 10 mins or so. Then the Guard finally spotted it and took action. They sent 9 pegisi to confront him.
"Spirit of Fire, this is Eagle Eye. I have 9 unknowns approaching." he said.
"Eagle Eye, this is the Spirit. Withdraw, I repeat. The Captain has ordered a withdraw." said the operator.
"Roger that, Returning to base." the pilot said pulling back on the yoke and pushing the throttle to max going into super-sonic speeds climbing altitude. He was soon in the upper atmosphere where the Spirit of Fire lazily sitting above the planet at low orbit. The craft slowly made its way into the hangar, lowing its gear it set down on the floor.
Meanwhile inside the Barracks...
Lieutenant Garrison an ODST sniper was cleaning his rifle as Sargent Marc, Private Alex, and Captain Tyler were talking. Marc or as the crew called him 'The Brute' was a close quarter specialist equipped with a shotgun and 2 magnums, his skin was tanned and brown hair as well as eyes. He once killed a brute with his bare hands.
Tyler was the Assault Specialist equipped with an Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle. His nickname was 'Runner' due to how much he talked, his skin was chocolate brown as well as his eyes and black hair was short.
Alex was the Tech Specialist being able to hack into anything and I mean anything being Human or Covenant. So they called him 'Hacker'. Unlike the rest of the squad he had hazel eyes and blonde hair.
Then there was Garrison, the silent sniper. He rarely talked. Most of the time you will see him sleeping with a fan blowing in his pale face or wondering around aimlessly, he will literally pop out of nowhere if its dark so they call him 'Ghost'. What would one do to know why he is silent, strange, his ability to defy physics, and plain out creepiness. His face was covered up by a skull mask (Ghosts Mask from MW2) all the time, so you could only see his brown eyes.
"So, you heard that we are above a planet filled with multi-color humanoid horses?" asked Buck. Everyone inside directed there attention to him, even Ghost was interested. "I know right, I just got the recording from the system." he said pulling up a video. Putting it on hologram mode it lifted into the air as it showed Luna and Celestia walking through the Gardens, the video ended after the Pegisi started to chase the craft. There were murmurs in the crowed of Marines and ODSTs.
"Holy shit, it's like a fairy tail."
"What the hell."
"Where are we?"
"I have a bad felling about this."
The crowed died down as the captain walked through the door.
"Shadows, follow me." said Cutter motioning the four ODSTs to follow. Ghost was the first to get up followed by the rest. Walking into the pod room the Captain turned to them. "Alright, the reason I brought you here is because I need you to recon a area of land that could support a base. It's up north near the mountains, it's close to a village but the snow storm there should give you plenty of cover. Once there I want you to protect the base site until reinforcements show up, is that understood?"
"Yes Sir!" the squad yelled in unison.
"Good, arm up. You are deploying in 10." he walked out the door but before he left he whispered into Ghost's ear. "Watch over Marc, we don't need another accident. Good luck." Ghost nodded as he walked off. They armed up grabbing their assigned weapons. They walked over to their pods and strapped in, the counter clocked downwards as they were about to launch.
"Hey Ghost, what did the captain say." asked Hacker. Their was a pause before he answered.
"Good luck." on Que the pods dropped to the world below.
